Feb 15, 2007Soon as i place a file in the trash it deleted completely and doesnt sit in trash. I'd like to be able to restore a file if need be, as i have just lost alot of pictures

Mar 31, 2012Before, when I dragged something to the trash it was kept there until I chose to 'Empty Trash' but now it doesn't store it but immediately asks if I am sure I want to delete it or not.

Oct 20, 2010resolution is set @ 720p...so i hooked up my mini to my hdtv via HDMI but the fonts are hard to read. i mean they're still readable but hard for the eyes. i have my pc also hooked up via HDMI and fonts are perfectly clear and readable but not teh mini.
are there extra settings that i miss or somethin?
MacBook Air :: Projector - Finding Best Settings
Aug 30, 2008I have a MBA (my first apple since the Mac SE 20... ha!) and I have a Dell 2300 multimedia projector. I have the DVI-VGA adaptor, but I can't get a good picture to project. I've toyed with the display settings to see if I can get it to improve. The picture stays dark, or blurry, etc etc.
Is there a setting I'm missing, or could I maybe have a bad adaptor?

Aug 16, 2009when i plug in the converter, the mac recognizes it and readjusts the screen
on the tv, (my older read projection) ,all i see is grey squiggly lines, not snow.. the picture is there but it is not converted properly. i cant see anything. i press command f1 and something usually happens and goes back to the grey shit.
i try it on my hd tv, and it just says /'no signal/', so i am assuming that the picture isnt getting converted properly. could it be my converter, or is it something in the output setting or the mini divi port? the converter i got was one from best buy- dynex, and it has a mini dvi male, and a female composite and s-video.

OS X :: Unable To Disable Trackpad Option / Not Finding Settings
Sep 1, 2009I have a Bluetooth mouse that I use with my MacBook Pro.
In Tiger & Leopard, I was able to set my Mac so that it disabled the trackpad from use when the Bluetooth mouse was connected. I just noticed that that setting has been undone and I can't seem to find the preference to set that setting.
Anything? Thoughts? This obviously isn't a crisis, I'm just curious if they've moved the preference someplace else... or something.

Dec 7, 2007I've got a G5 DP with the infamous white noise problem coming through my speakers that was only fixed after downloading the chud tools and disabling the NAP settings - does anyone know if I'll have the same issues if I install Leopard? Want to upgrade but don't want to waste my money if the noise comes back and I can't get it to work. Also, I'm using an m-audio firewire 410 that doesn't have drivers yet; has anyone used the Tiger drivers with success on Leopard?

Aug 23, 2009I have a G5 Duel 2GHz Power PC, Recently I was losing the time, date and wireless settings so I assumed as my machine is now 4 years old the PRAM battery was up for renewal.This has now been replaced but I'm still losing my settings, not all the time but randomly, sometimes I lose my wireless key sometimes I lose time and date sometimes both, this can happen daily.
I have removed the (New) Battery and checked the voltage and it reads 3.6 Volts, I haven't checked this under load though, so presuming that the battery is OK, what else could cause this.. a failing System Board?
Desktops :: Cannot Empty Trash/trash Icon Show Full?
Oct 3, 2009My 24" iMac (2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, running OSX 10.6.1) crashed during a normal shutdown sequence and had to be closed down by holding in the power button. This resulted in three zero kB alias files with random names such as "." in the trash.
I cannot empty these files from the trash by any normal means and the trash icon permanently shows full. The files can be selected but cannot be dragged to the desktop or renamed. Other files put in the trash can be deleted normally.

Jan 9, 2010I have a little issue with the trash, when ever I trash something it automatically empty the trash but before it was empty completely it display a massage.
I know normally if you want to trash something, all you have to do is press "⌘ + Delete". To empty trash you press "Option + ⌘ + Delete" But now when I press "⌘ + Delete" it display the massage as you see below.
How do I fixed it or have it go back to normal state?

Apr 24, 2009this seems like a really simple thing i want to do but i cant seem to figure it out. All i'm trying to do is put a shortcut of the trash can onto the desktop. I have my dock hidden and it can be a pain to try and make it appear to delete something. i searched spotlight for trash and there are no hits. i try to drag the trashcan from the dock and nothing happens. There has to be a solution???

May 1, 2012Despite having several files in the trash, its icon never changes (always shows an empty trash) and the "Empty Trash" option is dimmed (that is, cannot be used). OnyX ws the only solution but it's temporary. What's the fix I should apply to Mac OS X? Also, why is it that every time I want to move a file to trash I must enter my password? It's annoying to say the least.Please help me as I don't want to go through the royal pains of installing everything again, Windows-style. I think Mac OS X should be better than that.
