Apr 25, 2010Trying to play an embedded WMV file on Safari or Firefox. I downloaded Flip4Mac, but that doesnt seem to work...
I'm on version 10.6.1 -- any suggestions.

Feb 17, 2012I'm running Lion on a brand new MacBook Air. I cannot watch embedded videos, but can watch the videos on Youtube. I've deleted cookies and cache and reinstalled Flash Player, but nothing works. I've had this problem before with older versions of the OS and on a MacBook Pro.

Safari :: Embedded BBC IPlayer Not Running
Mar 18, 2012I've got an ongoing issue with the embedded BBC iPlayer on my iMac. For a while now all I get is the loading screen but no video. The iPlayer itself is fine as is any other Flash content but the embedded news articles don't work. I've tried uninstalling Flash and re-installing as described elsewhere on this site but to no avail. I have the latest Flashplayer installed and it's the version recommended by Adobe.

Software :: Keynote 08 Embedded Movie Controls?
Apr 14, 2008I've just created some interactive Keynote presentations which have embedded Quicktime movies on a few of the slides.
I export the Keynote entire presentation as a Quicktime movie, I lose the movie controls for the embedded movies.
Is there a way to still be able to pause, stop, start, rewind and fast forward an embedded Quicktime movie within a Keynote presentation which has been exported to a Quicktime file.

Apr 13, 2009My mom has been wanting a Mac Mini for quite some time. The only thing holding her back is that she needs to run a Citrix client embedded in Internet Explorer . I know that there is no IE for Apple anymore and we are really trying to avoid running VM or Parallels ( $ ). Does anyone know if there is a work around?

Mar 19, 2012I have been happily using Safari for a long time as a photographer because it was great at properly rendering images online with embedded color profiles.With the latest update, it appears to have stopped. Firefox 10 renders the image properly, but I would like to know if this is an issue with my systems o if other people are running into this with the latest update.
I have attached an example screenshot with FF 10 on the right and Safari 5.1.4 on the left. The rendition on the right is correct, with more red saturation in the glass and logo and less muting of colors overall.I have reset Safari and dumped the entire prefs folder but having the same issue.

Apr 30, 2012I'm having problems with podcast artwork not showing up. I normally download my podcasts through iTunes, and for several feeds, album art shows up in the iTunes Store but isn't embedded in the files I download. I always figured that the providers were just somehow not embedding the art in the individual files, but then I noticed that when I download the files directly from my iPhone, they show up just fine. To test it out, I tried two copies of the same file -- one downloaded directly to the phone and another synced from iTunes -- and got the same result: one with album art, one without.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Embedded Video Won't Play In Any Browser?
May 29, 2012I have had a problem for a long time of videos on certain websites not playing on my MacBook Pro. I have the latest Lion OS update as well as the latest Flash update. I never have a problem with Youtube and most video plays fine but some websites, like for instance, news sites will not respond. I get a black screen with no controls or anythiing. Now I am having this problem with a site called MailChimp. I use FIrefox but it will not play in either Safari or Chrome.

Feb 26, 2009does anybody know a way to save a Pages document as a Word DOC file with the used fonts embedded so that somebody on another (Windows) computer can see the document exactely the way I do even without having some used fonts? (PDF instead of DOC isn't possible as the text still needs to be editable for this other person.) I already searched the whole net and I am afraid this isn't possible, but just to be sure: If anybody knows a way, it would be nice if you could let me know.

May 24, 2012Youtube vidoes are working fine when I'm actually on youtube but if its embedded on another website (facebook, forums etc.) it won't load. On forums, the space where the video is embedded is just blank while on facebook when I click play, there is just a white screen. I've re-installed my flash player multiple times. I've disabled all plug-ins and still won't work. I've taken out my com.apple.safari plist onto my desktop and loaded my safari again.. still doesn't work...

Jun 4, 2012Mail 5.2 (OS 10.7.4) no longer displays embedded images. This happened after I installed an AirportExtreme wireless router. I can send images as attachments, but received mail with images displays blue box with ?. Using "download image" has no effect. Mail/preferences/ has " Display remote images in HTML messages" checked. The answers to similar questions don't seem to apply, or I just don't understand them.

May 6, 2009I've recieved a Word document with an embedded Adobe pdf file in it.
When I try to open the embedded pdf I get the message that it can't find the server application for AcroExch.Document.7-object. What does this mean?
I have Adobe Reader 9 installed.
If I try the same procedure on a PC running XP it opens fine. What can be the issue here.
OS X Technologies :: Pause Workflow Until Embedded Applescript Application Is Complete
Mar 1, 2012I have a multi-step automator workflow that has an embedded "Launch Application" step that calls an applescript application that I've written. The application goes through a list of URLs. I don't want the workflow to start with the next step until my application has cycled through all the URLs. Currently, I have hard coded a pause into the workflow, but I'm looking for something more precise (if I set the pause too long, it results in unnecessary delays, if I set it too short, my workflow gets messed up).Â
I'm assuming there is some way to modify my application and/or the workflow to send a complete status that can trigger the next step in my workflow.

Whenever we attach video files or keynote media, it will play back on the machine we posted it from but once anyone else pulls up the content on their machine it will show a media playback bar but will not play back. We've tried .mov, .m4v, .mp4 etc. and it will never play back.

ITunes :: Embedded Album Artwork Not Displaying In Album List Or Cover Flow
Feb 26, 2012I keep my large music collection on an external drive connected to an Airport Extreme in my home. I've embedded all my album artwork in the music files, and previously all the album artwork was displaying perfectly in iTunes. After upgrading to iTunes 10.5, however, most of my albums are missing the album art in the album list and Cover Flow. I know that the art is still in the file because it shows up in the "Now Playing" box in the lower left corner of the screen. The only way I have found to get the album art to show up again in the album list and Cover Flow is to go through the following steps: Â Control-click the first track of an album for which the cover art is not displaying correctly. From the context menu that appears, select Get Info.Click on the Artwork tab, then click Cancel.Â
Now the artwork shows up in iTunes in all views. I called Apple Support and asked if there's a faster way to fix the issue with the database. Manually fixing each album for hundreds of albums is no fun. Telling iTunes to Get Album Artwork doesn't work because most of my music was not purchased from iTunes but was ripped from CDs I already own. It's very frustrating because I already spent hours finding and embedding the hi-res album art in my files. I paid extra for Apple products because I expect them to at least avoid corrupting my databases.

MacBook Pro :: What Video Format (including Embedded Audio) Can Be Viewed By Both OSX Lion Users And PC Users
Mar 22, 2012I am currently am MBA student and must create projects using power point/ keynote, very often. Many of the power points/ keynotes created by students are informative but lack the ability to hold an audience’s attention (boring). Since I have this wonderful Macbook pro, I would like to create a dynamic keynote presentation which would include clips of audio and video files (I already know about converting keynote to power point). The only problem is, the videos I want to use in the keynote presentation are not able to be manipulated in iMovie (due to their format), and if they where able to be manipulated in iMovie, I’m not sure that PC users would be able to properly view them.
What video format (including embedded audio) is able to be viewed and heard by both OSX Lion users and Windows users?  If this is possible, can anyone suggest a safe application that I can purchase from the apple app store that will allow me to convert video files (including embedded audio) so that it can be viewed by both Lion and PC users? Preferably one that does not need access to the internet in order to convert the files ( I’m on the go allot and use an air card for internet access), but I will take it if this is the best option. If the app store does not have this type of application, is there a place that I can download a safe one?Â
