Safari crashes pretty much all the time now. Usually when loading embedded youtube videos or going to a pimped myspace page. It crashes at least 5 times a day and is getting old?
View 4 Replies View RelatedYoutube vidoes are working fine when I'm actually on youtube but if its embedded on another website (facebook, forums etc.) it won't load. On forums, the space where the video is embedded is just blank while on facebook when I click play, there is just a white screen. I've re-installed my flash player multiple times. I've disabled all plug-ins and still won't work. I've taken out my com.apple.safari plist onto my desktop and loaded my safari again.. still doesn't work...
My plugin list from safari:
- DivX Plus Web Player
- DivX VOD Helper Plug-in
- Facebook Video Calling
- GameTree Download Manager
- Glims
- Google earth plugin
- Java Applet plug-in
- Quicktime plug in 7.7.1
- Sharepoint browser plug in
- Shockwave flash
- Silverlight plug-in
- Webkit buit-in PDF
One bizzare thing: Embedded youtube videos will load if I login as a guest user or as another user on my mac.

I've recently upgraded to Lion and have found that Quicktime movies and embedded Flash movies won't work. With the embedded flash all I get is a black box, and with quicktime movies, such as the ones on the Apple website, I get nothing - the irony of not being able to watch movies on the Apple site with my Apple iMac gives me a little chuckle. Anyways ....... I've been reading thread after thread and trying lots of different things but nothing works. I've got this feeling inside that says it's something simple but just can't seem to find it.

I'm running Lion on a brand new MacBook Air. I cannot watch embedded videos, but can watch the videos on Youtube. I've deleted cookies and cache and reinstalled Flash Player, but nothing works. I've had this problem before with older versions of the OS and on a MacBook Pro.

Perhaps there is no relation, but ever since the iTunes update it has become impossible to play QT videos correctly in full-screen mode in Safari. It occurs in Mac OS X and Windows 7.

I've got an ongoing issue with the embedded BBC iPlayer on my iMac. For a while now all I get is the loading screen but no video. The iPlayer itself is fine as is any other Flash content but the embedded news articles don't work. I've tried uninstalling Flash and re-installing as described elsewhere on this site but to no avail. I have the latest Flashplayer installed and it's the version recommended by Adobe.
I have:

OS X 10.7.3

Has anyone encountered Safari's inablity to display embedded Google calendars on web pages?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been happily using Safari for a long time as a photographer because it was great at properly rendering images online with embedded color profiles. With the latest update, it appears to have stopped. Firefox 10 renders the image properly, but I would like to know if this is an issue with my systems o if other people are running into this with the latest update.
I have attached an example screenshot with FF 10 on the right and Safari 5.1.4 on the left. The rendition on the right is correct, with more red saturation in the glass and logo and less muting of colors overall.I have reset Safari and dumped the entire prefs folder but having the same issue.

Lately I have noticed that many embedded quicktime movies do not play in Safari or Chrome. This is on a Lion machine.Â

When I play an embedded video in a web page in Safari, it invariably halts and starts repeatedly (not the audio.. it goes on smoothly while the video pauses then resumes in a few seconds in sync with the audio, then this repeats in a few seconds). This doesn't happen with youtube videos in Youtube, but embedded in blogs or Jon Stewart e.g.

Since I did a recent upgrade of iTunes I cannot get videos to play. The videos I downloaded with an album only play the audio and not the video.

I just ran Software Update and it came up with an update for iTunes and an OS update (10.7?). I installed both, but now all my iTunes videos and Podcasts are truncated. i.e. the top of the video/podcast is blacked out about 1/3 of the way down the iTunes screen. Have also had an import/burning issue with previous version iTunes.

I'm currently using a MacBook Pro, and Safari runs perfectly except videos on sites such as Youtube won't load (black square, where video should load or just blank area) music also doesn't stream on sites such as Hype Machine.
I've reset Safari and emptied the cache. Can download files fine, pictures load fine, everything works perfectly except for the video and music streaming.
I have a MacBook Pro running all the latest software and it seems that Safari's having trouble playing things, like videos. Nothing works: Flash, HTML5 or QuickTime. Tried it all. MP3s won't play in the browser either. I've looked around and many of the other people who have this problem have it magically disappear with an update, no such luck for me. Apple isn't going to be useful for less than $49 either.

I dont know what type of media it is playing from Safari and I'm guessing its .MOV but after certain videos are played on the mac pro under safari and even closing the safari tab with the video and trying to view movie clips from say [URL], all of a sudden the video lags and skips frames and just slow. Only when I quit safari all together and reopen safari and watch the same videos in [URL] will it be fast again... Is there some type of codec glitch or bug that causes this with .mov files??

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got a new Mac after a long long time....
So I want to watch videos downloaded from the internet, either M3U or PLS . The files seem to be automatically transfered to itunes for playing, and yet it is not able (maybe not compatible?) to play these types of files...
I have tried opening these files with other applications: Quick Time or Adobe Flash Player as the video supplier advises...but nothing happens..as I assume they are already itune files...
When I try to watch any video, all I get is a black square with no controls.Â
I've alreadye reinstalled Flash Player, already cleared caché, already repaired disk permissions. Still nothing.Â

Some YouTube videos just wont load. The counter of the video counts up to 00:04 and then resets to 00:00 again and again, while the loading wheel in the video box just spins. Firefox plus others - works fine.Â

Since I upgraded to Lion 10.7.3, the method I was using to download videos, from YouTube and other internet sites, no longer works. This method (with Snow Leopard) involved going to the Window menu, clicking on Activity, and finding the video file in a list, and double clicking it. Usually the video would still be downloading and would be a certain number of MB in a long list of files of various KB sizes. Now, there is no downloadable file listed (in Activity) for the video I'm watching. Is there a way to download the video without purchasing additional software?

Lately I've been having trouble watching videos on YouTube. They stop and stutter a lot, to the point where I have to give up. At first I discovered that The Google had put me in their HTML5 beta program unbeknownst to me. That was causing some problems as well so I opted out of it for the time being. Â
I fired up Activity Viewer and saw that when I'm experiencing the problem the process called QTKitsever -(703) Safari Web Content is maxing out my CPU bringing my Macbook Pro to a screaching halt (note I checked a second time and the -(703) had changed to -(812) for some reason). Safari seems to work fine otherwise, but as soon as I go to YouTube and try to watch a video the process kicks in and my Mac chokes.Â
