View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to change the weblink icon in the dock? I've tried to use CandyBar as well as looking through the system with no luck. I couldn't find the location of the icon itself. You all know the default icon, but here it is just incase.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am wondering if it is possible to fix the position of an icon in the dock without actually pinning it there. Thus it is not on the dock unless it is launched but when it is in the dock it is on a specific location. I think those overly crowed docks are pointless and only for people who are incapable of useing spotlight or other launchers. I launch apps with spot light and use the dock much like a windows Taskbar. The problem I want my browser close together but I don't want safari's button to be around unless it is actually launched. I sometimes hit it accidentially and there is no point to it being there when it's not running, at least none that I can think of.

when willing to change the .app original icon to a new design, all's fine until the app is launched. once the unread rss feed count is up in hte dock, the icon changes back to the original version.
A long time ago I changed the mac trash icon in my dock. Now I want to change it back.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am playing with my Dock icons and downloaded some nice 3D's. When I tried to change the Finder icon, (used copy paste of the new icon to the Finder in system/library/core services/finder) it worked for the icon (in the folder) but will not change in the dock. I have relaunched the Finder, restarted, logged in and out. The new icon appears changed both in the core services and also in Finder contents folder, (Finder icns.) but the Dock icon remains the same.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have this icon behind the Application icon on the dock and I cannot figure out what it is. It is not something on the desktop as I have moved the dock and can't see it, so it is definitely connected with the Application icon. I have deleted all downloads which could have been half done and I have removed an Alias I had in the Application folder. Now all the Applications appears as "Applications" in the "Kind" column when viewing in Finder.

I've been trying to change my docks theme for the past few days but have been unable. I've used Candybar, Dock Library etc. and none of them seem to work. I'm really annoyed because it used to work for me. Any suggestions on how I can remedy this problem?
View 7 Replies View RelatedHow do you change the hard drive icon picture in the top right corner to look like the macbook pro computer? I've seen this on a couple people's desktops and was just wondering how you do it. Also, how do you change the folder icon to something that looks cooler.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm afraid I'm having a Windows user moment. Sometimes I still fail to do things the easy, intuitive way, even after roughly 4 years in OS X. I have 5 hard drives in my Mac Pro, one of them is my boot Intel SSD. I want that icon to be distinct from the others (another is a Time Machine drive). I've downloaded two files that would work for me, one was a png and the other a .ico file, but when I copy the icon from the top left corner of the 'get info' pane on the desired file, and then paste it int he correlating top left corner of the SSD 'get info' pane, it pastes the generic PNG or ICO icon, not the actual icon image I desire.

I'm new to the whole mac thing and got my first mac (an iMac) just 2 days ago. A whole new learning experience.
I've downloaded and am running uTorrent. uTorrent is showing in the dock, with the text and the small "light" underneath it to show the app is running. However there is no icon, just space. Also in the applications folder, there seems to be a standard icon ("There's no icon, so we'll use this standard icon for the application").
I've attached a screenshot of how it looks in the dock.
I know the uTorrent app has an icon, it was showed right when I downloaded the app and I haven't changed anything, but now it's gone. How do I get it back?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy iCal icon is invisible within the dock. It appears the normal icon when I open iCal but when I quit it, it goes back to being invisible. I have taken it out of the dock, putting it back in the dock, and the issue is still there. This happened a few days ago, and a restart fixed the problem, but it came back today. It seems its only ical.

The thread title pretty much lays it out right there. I tried the sudo kill all Dock but it didn't work.

You know how there is a blue dot underneath an application's icon in the dock representing that the application is running? Is there a way to change this to another color? I don't see any option for it, so I think it's unlikely that it can be changed but if it can I'd appreciate being told how to change it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have three icons on my dock that link to application, downloads, and documents. The applications and download icons are a folder and have a little embossed icon in the middle. The documents icon is a set three folders.... I have a screenshot here. I would like to make the documents folder the same as the other two (a single folder icon with the embossing in the middle). On both my other two macs, this is the case. When I open up the icon with "get info" this is the case. I know how to open up the icons using "get info" and use cut and paste to change their appearance. But no matter what I do, it still stays the same, as in the screen shot.

I've recently logged on to my mac to find that my 'Finder' icon is missing from the dock.
It is still running, still clickable, with the 'running' light below showing.
