View 4 RepliesMy iCal icon is invisible within the dock. It appears the normal icon when I open iCal but when I quit it, it goes back to being invisible. I have taken it out of the dock, putting it back in the dock, and the issue is still there. This happened a few days ago, and a restart fixed the problem, but it came back today. It seems its only ical.
View 4 Replies View RelatedToday I tried to change the finder icon in the dock. Because I'm cheap, I dont have candybar, so I tried to use liteicon. While this changed the finder icon in messages like "do you want to empty trash," it did not change it on the dock, even after logging out and relaunching the dock.
So I went into a bunch of core services and replaced all the finder .icns and .pngs with the one I wanted to use. When I relaunched the dock, the finder was invisible, but it still had the little blue "open" dot below where it was.I downloaded the candybar trial to try to fix it, but even candybar didn't get the icon back.
I'm using 10.5.8. Where are all the places the finder icon should be to show up?
The other day I opened iPhoto from the dock only to find that when I clicked on it the icon disappeared. There is now a gap in my dock where iPhoto should be and when I rollover the gap it shows up as iPhoto, but without the image. The same then happened with System Preferences. I thought that it may have sorted itself out when I turned off my computer for the day but first thing this morning when I switched it on - the same 2 icons are gone. They still open the apps, I can quit out of them by right clicking and go into options menu etc. I attached a screen shot if it is of any use. Am using Snow Leopard also.
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust noticed this happening in SL the last few days - app icons in my dock are starting to become invisible. The white dot underneath shows that it is running, but there is no icon. The icons are present on the apps themselves, but also do not show up when I look at stacks. Is it just yet another SL bug? Just to add: killing the Dock doesn't fix it, quitting the Finder doesn't fix it, and restarting the computer doesn't fix it.

View 1 Replies View Relateddock messed up, can't right-click dock icons and finder & trash is invisible
hi i'm not sure what happened, but for some reason my dock just messed up. i can't right click anything in the dock and the finder and trash icons are there, but they just disappeared!
In some of my folders, the inside folders appear to be blank and have no text. When I click on the folder icon, the name of the folder is there, but there appears to be a hard return at the end of the text. When I delete the hard return, the text becomes visible.
Rather than go to each folder and do this - why this is happening, and how to correct all the folders wherever they may be on any disk.
I have this icon behind the Application icon on the dock and I cannot figure out what it is. It is not something on the desktop as I have moved the dock and can't see it, so it is definitely connected with the Application icon. I have deleted all downloads which could have been half done and I have removed an Alias I had in the Application folder. Now all the Applications appears as "Applications" in the "Kind" column when viewing in Finder.
Info:
MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)

I'm new to the whole mac thing and got my first mac (an iMac) just 2 days ago. A whole new learning experience.
I've downloaded and am running uTorrent. uTorrent is showing in the dock, with the text and the small "light" underneath it to show the app is running. However there is no icon, just space. Also in the applications folder, there seems to be a standard icon ("There's no icon, so we'll use this standard icon for the application").
I've attached a screenshot of how it looks in the dock.
I know the uTorrent app has an icon, it was showed right when I downloaded the app and I haven't changed anything, but now it's gone. How do I get it back?
I accidentally removed the Dashboard icon from the dock - anyone know how to get it back?

Is there a way to change the weblink icon in the dock? I've tried to use CandyBar as well as looking through the system with no luck. I couldn't find the location of the icon itself. You all know the default icon, but here it is just incase.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe thread title pretty much lays it out right there. I tried the sudo kill all Dock but it didn't work.

View 6 Replies View Related I lost my icon of my Finder in my Dock, the icon seem to be fine for the Finder.app and permission too.
You know how there is a blue dot underneath an application's icon in the dock representing that the application is running? Is there a way to change this to another color? I don't see any option for it, so I think it's unlikely that it can be changed but if it can I'd appreciate being told how to change it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo this is what my safari dock icon looks like now after upgrading to 10.6.2. No impact on functionality but just an eyesore. I've restarted my computer, I've removed the icon from the dock and placed it back to no avail.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have three icons on my dock that link to application, downloads, and documents. The applications and download icons are a folder and have a little embossed icon in the middle. The documents icon is a set three folders.... I have a screenshot here. I would like to make the documents folder the same as the other two (a single folder icon with the embossing in the middle). On both my other two macs, this is the case. When I open up the icon with "get info" this is the case. I know how to open up the icons using "get info" and use cut and paste to change their appearance. But no matter what I do, it still stays the same, as in the screen shot.

I like mine to be 'minimalist'
I've recently logged on to my mac to find that my 'Finder' icon is missing from the dock.
It is still running, still clickable, with the 'running' light below showing.
