I've only got 21 GB left on my iMac out of 639 GB or something (I save a LOT of videos and audios). My computer is running soooooo slow so I'm thinking that it's just got too much in there and too close to the max capacity to run faster. Am I right? Do I need to delete things or purge or what to free up storage?
I've already deleted a ton of files but I think they are saved in more than one place which means duplicate files all over the place I think? Not sure.
But I can't always save something to the folder I want to save it in, it goes in my downloads folder where then I have to move it to the appropriate folder to save in an organized manner. I've deleted most of my downloads folder and many videos but I'd rather save them somewhere instead and not just rely on YouTube to host and save them.
I have an online data backup system too, Carbonite, but I'm not sure I can save other things there that then are not still on my computer?
I could save things on a hard drive but will that really solve my sloooow computer running issues?
Not sure what to do?

Incoming server is a Road Runner Pop server. Have unchecked the "automatically detect..." box under advanced but does not save password. Connection is fine. Continually get "log-in to this POP account failed. Verify that the username and password is correct."Yes, password is correct, but Mail will not hold it in settings.

It also shows in my mail server's Webmail. This is very scary. How many other messages am I missing?

I am a graphic designer and I used Lokiware's Attachment Tamer prior to Yosemite. Now that the software is not available für this version of mail (and it seems doubtful that it ever will be) I went back to using Mail without it.
Ever since, some of my clients (using PCs) don't seem to be able to recieve attachments in JPG-Format from me. They just don't show up at their end, as if I wouldn't have attached them in the first place. Putting the files in an ZIP is a workaround, but a very clumsy and frustrating one. Other file formats, such as PDF show up just fine. For a few other clients it still works.

I keep getting a small triangle next to my e-mail inbox that indicates that I can't receive e-mail unless I accept an insecure authentication, checked in advanced in mail preferences. This problem seems to have arrived with my upgrade to Yosemite and it is causing e-mail from my family to be rejected and returned.

How can I program email to receive confirmation recipient received my message - function like MS Outlook's?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running an iMac G5 Version 10.5.6 (Leopard) and I have activated every security feature I can find.
I have disabled all sharing, I have disabled guest access, I have the firewall up allowing only essential services, and I am in stealth mode.
In spite of this, he is obviously able to see every website I visit, and I am afraid he can view my email or the court documents etc. on my machine.
When I click on my harddrive icon, I can see his machine, listed as PC server, under 'sharing', even though I have disabled all sharing!!
There does not seem to be an option to disconnect him, or block him.
I converted an old apple ID to an ID that is a real email address, as the old one no longer was a valid email address. After creating the new Apple ID I tried to add this ID to the family share as many of the iTunes purchases of songs and apps were done under this ID. The invitation was sent to the new apple ID email address, but when I tried to accept the invitation, I received an error bubble that said " Invalid Invitation, you are already part of this family". When I went back to iCloud it would show that the invitation was still unaccepted.

I have a new MacBook Pro and while it "sees" the Canon printer, i am unable to get the printer to be shown as online. My System on my iMac shows Printer Sharing: Blocked by Firewall. Is there a way to allow these two Macs to print wirelessly? I'm running the current version of Yosemite on both.

Since the Yosemite upgrade, Screen Sharing App seems to try opening an afp share first when connecting via a vnc:// shortcut... It takes a while before being connected in VNC (2-3 minutes) !
Remote has been configured via a command line found in an other discussion in this board (Upgraded to Yosemite and can no longer remote into my work iMac through screen sharing- it is turned on in settings?. Connecting via the RealVNC App is super fast (like 5 sec).configuration was exactly the same in Mavericks and it worked well and fast !

I'm trying to share my MBPr over my LAN with my windows 8 desktop. When i go to the file sharing options, under "Windows File Sharing" section, the user account i want to share (my main account) is greyed out, so I can not select it. The other user account is selectable though.
Any reason why I can't select my main account??

get messages to all my devices - iPhone, MacBook, iPad, iPod under new OS X Yosemite and iOS 8.1.1. combinations; missing bit possibility to manage all from one device, read - deleting mainly. Isn't really possible to have all deleted from one device to all, similar to mail and any other similar? If this is the case, this functionality becomes bit use(un)friendly, inefficient and not a full step forward, hardly half step. If this is the case, ... switching it off.

I just added a gmail account and when I compose a new message I can't see the "from" field. Using the "View" dropdown I can see that it is checked, but it does not appear in the message itself.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have several accounts in the message app (private, office, icloud, ...). Some are only for chatting (via jabber etc.), some are for short messages (sms) an some for both. And i have people in my address book with an chat account and a mobile phone number, but i don't want to send a sms to them via imessage.
My question is: How can i prevent to send a sms via imessage for a complete account or for a person?
