OS X Yosemite :: Cannot Update ITunes To Version 12.0.1
Dec 3, 2014
I can't update my iTunes to version 12.0.1. It downloads the update and when it's finish updating iTunes, the same update keeps appearing again and again. How i can ignore det update or receive the update properly ?
I am unable to add any songs to my iTunes. I have iTunes 12.0.1.26 and am running Yosemite 10.10.1. My iTunes is sourced to my external hard drive.
I tried mp3, Apple lossless and WAV files. I also tried downloading one of my purchased songs directly from the store. I get an error message of - 50 when I do the store download or try to drop any music file into my 'Instantly Add' folder. I cleared my caches and rebooted (3 times). I'm officially at a loss.
I would like to not install a specific version/update of an iOS applications. The reasons for wanting to not install a specific version/update are varied, but include a "DO NOT INSTALL THIS VERSION" type warning from the developer. Within iTunes I always selectivly install updates and do not use the "Update All" primarly so I can evaluate which updates to install. Is there a way to mark an update as "I want to skip this version" so it will be visually different then other updates, or not present in the list of updates?
Im trying to update my ITunes on my MAC (laptop) to the newer version so I can then be able to update the latest updates for my Iphone-3G. I don’t require a complete reinstall just need to be able to update my itunes.
What I have tried so far is I had my MAC search for update’s and it said that I should update to (ITunes version 10 . 6 . 3 ) So I asked it to do the update but after 2hrs of waiting for it to download/update it then puts up a message saying the following- (In order to continue installation, please close the following application: ITunes).
When I tried to do this another message comes up that says- (The update ITunes can’t be installed. The following install step failed: run preupgrade script for Apple mobile device support. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.)
I have also tried to run the update while having closed ITunes before I even start the update but the same problem happens after waiting about 2hrs.
Some one that had the same problem said this might be happening in the older operating systems. But that does not make sense because surely Apple want customers who own a MAC and i-phone to still buy from iTunes.
My MAC is about 4-5years old. I have a i-phone.3G,
For years I've used iTunes' "Create AAC version" .mp3 to .m4a feature in the advanced menu, primarily to reduce the file size of my many thousand mp3 songs.
Since the latest update to iTunes, whenever I do this now, the AAC version file size created by iTunes get larger, and makes the .m4a significantly bigger than an .mp3.
I understood the very point of an AAC/.m4a was to be a smaller sized file of an equivilent .mp3 while keeping a similar quality.
I know large artwork affects the file size, but this still happens regardless of artwork.
Does anyone know what's changed re this feature in this latest update?
I had Mavericks previously installed on my iMac mid 2007 and was promoted to upgrade to Yosemite which I did. Now when I try to open iPhoto and it reads unresponsive in red letters on the force quit window. When I select and click force quit computer then freezes. I am however able to open iTunes but when I plug my iPod in computer then freezes.
My MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) is too slow after installing Yosemite version 10.10.1. All programs take for ever to load especially Safari and even chrome. I regret upgrading to yosemite, it was all fine with Maverick.
Info: MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
I am unable to sync my iPhone to my iMac The contacts, calendars etc are not syncing . Not sure what i have done that is incorrect .This will be the first time this phone is synced to this computer...
I only update my web site a few times a year, and since the last time I bought a new computer and have a newer version of iweb. When I try to update my web site (on mobileme), it builds all of the pages and then gives an unknown error and fails. I also can't use the file menu/visit site, which indicates to me that it doesn't recognize my domain as the same site.
In my app store on version 10.6.8 Mac OS X I am trying to get apps but when I click 'install' it says I need Mac OS X 10.7.2 and I tried to update it in the apple symbol drop down box but it said all my software updates are up to date.
I have OSX version 10.6.8. When I run software update, it tells me my software is up to date. On my other Macbook Pro, I have 10.9.4. I realize that I will have to run a series of updates to get from 10.6 to 10.9 but why won't software update allow me to update to the next OS version in the sequence?
I have an old version of Aperture (3.1.2) that no longer works on my mac following my update to OSX (10.9.4). I would like to update my Aperture version so that its compatible with OSX but am unable to do so. All the aperture downloads tell me I have to update through the App Store but the App Store does not recognize that I have a valid, if outdated, version of Aperture on my computer and wants me to buy the software again. Is there a way to update Aperture (for free) and keep my library of photos?
i have a G4, serial number qt21106cl3v. i just installed os x 10.2.3. i cant get on fb or any site that uses flash. it says for me to download shockwave. ive tried and it wont install. i tried to download a new browser, like firefox, or another version of safari and i have no luck.
i cant decide whether its a virus or what. i just got the computer from a yard sale and its in excellent condition. i had to reinstall os x though cuz it had no os. any ideas?? you can find additional info by searching for specs through the serial. i have no prior knowledge of macs and am trying to learn quickly.
also, as in the heading, safari keeps crashing when i try to download any kind of new browser, and the auto updates arent working either.
I tried the new version (or what is supposed to be the new version of Safari for Tiger, but it loads as Safari 4.1 Tiger, and will not install because it says there is a newer version installed already. What is Apple doing? Did they simply rename version 4.1 as 4.1.2 and expect it to install?
Do NOT update to Mac OS X Version 10.7.3 if you use QuarkXPress 9 or 8.5 as Quark is not compatible and will not show the icons in the Tools window. You will need to revert to OS X Version 10.7.2 to get full function back for Quark
I've tried this software update multiple times and now I find out that I can't extend my AppleCare warranty after it expires. Basically the software update proceeds as usual, the computer restarts and just as you think everything is fine, the message 'There was a problem installing this software update. Quit all open applications and try updating again. If the problem contines, contact Apple support.'
The App Store is showing that an update to Facetime is available, but the update is v 1.0.2 and the installed version is newer; 1.1.1. When I click the update button I get a dialog that "FaceTime can't be installed on "Macintosh HD" becuase the version of Mac OS S is too new." The App Store continues to show this update is available, how do I get rid of it?
