View 5 RepliesApple on Tuesday evening posted Digital Camera Raw Compatibility Update 2.3 (4MB), a new upgrade to its RAW photo support for software such as Aperture and iPhoto. The update adds support for four high-profile cameras released earlier in the fall, including Canon's EOS-50D, Nikon's D90 and P6000, and Sony's A900. It also addresses problems handling output from earlier cameras as well as general reliability. The patch requires either Mac OS X 10.4.11 or 10.5.3 and later.[ View this article at [URL]

What can i do to get rid of this?
Mail no longer adds a signature to a new email after years of working satisfactorily. When I create a new email the default signature does not appear. The Signature button shows 'None.'When I click the button and select 'Edit Signatures' the normal list shows up and I can select the desired signature and the 'Chose Signature' button has the desired signature. I then close the edit signatures window (clicking the red button) although no save dialogue shows up. Then click to start a new email and still no signature and the Signature button has reverted to None again. If I go to Preferences and select the Signatures panel, the 'All Signatures' is alreday highlighted (not my normal business sub group) and the 'Choose Signature' list at the bottom of the panel has reverted to None.

As promised, Apple has released three new Get a Mac ads targeting Microsoft's launch of Windows 7 as a good opportunity to abandon Microsoft. Last week, Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president for Worldwide Product Marketing, said the impending launch of Windows 7 would present a "good opportunity" for Apple to make market share gains. Schiller said that in particular, the upgrade process from Windows XP to Windows 7 is something that consumers will likely find unpleasant: "Any user that reads all those steps is probably going to freak out. If you have to go through all that, why not just buy a Mac?"

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use torrents to download most of my music. I download the torrents to my downloads folder. For example if the torrent is called Greatest Hits it ends up in a subfolder of downloads ... downloads Greatest Hits. To add the music to my library I open downloads in Finder and drag the Greatest Hits folder from the finder window to the itunes icon in the dock. My itunes preferences are set to copy music to my itunes library folder (which is totally separate from downloads, I think it's something like documentsitunesmusic). And I also have preferences set to keep the library organized.
This process often works perfectly. Everything is added nicely to itunes and I go ahead and drag the Greatest Hits folder from the downloads folder to the trash, and then empty the trash. But sometimes, itunes will dupe the mp3's I've just added in my library. It will, for example, add to my library a tracklist like this:
song
song 1
other song
other song 1
next song
next song 1
Where the songs with 1 at the end are dupes of their twin without the 1. I haven't figured out the rhyme or reason to what files itunes will dupe in this manner. I think it has something to do with having track numbers in the original filenames (rather than in the id3's?). But I haven't noticed a definitive pattern.
So there's the Sing That iTune! widget, which got me thinking. is there a tool that can automatically add lyrics to songs in iTunes?

Or sometimes the "Done" thing will persist for a min or so and then you could finally open the website? Also, sometimes Firefox won't display all the ads and pics on a page properly, but after a min or so, when refreshing, it will be back to normal again..
View 1 Replies View RelatedThat just makes me laugh, no body owning a 13" Apple laptop can have it all ehh.
I am now glad that i bought my unibody before the upgrade because I don't want to go out and spend $150+ on an audio device just to record a few tunes from my guitar.
Wow, I do love the new MBP, but can't apple just give it all to the 13" customers?
I just got a new MacBook Pro and, well, the problem with itunes is simple :As soon as I open an mp3 file to listen to it, it immediately and automatically adds it to the library. How to solve this ?Normally, I guess, we should click on "add to library" to add files...My iTunes version is 8.1 and am running mac OS X Leopard 10.5.7
View 5 Replies View RelatedApple's Grand Central Dispatch technology, which debuted in Snow Leopard as a mechanism for optimizing parallelism across multiple cores and processors, has now been ported to FreeBSD. Apple publicly announced plans to release its GCD technology as open source last month; the FreeBSD team demonstrated its early port of the new feature at EuroBSDCon 2009 in Cambridge, UK just days after Apple's announcement. Out of the box support for GCD is scheduled to appear with the release of FreeBSD 8.1. The work required to port Apple's GCD event and concurrency framework to other operating systems is more complex than many other higher-level open source packages because GCD requires integration into the kernel (the core component of the operating system which manages processes, memory, and other hardware).
Most Unix-based software is highly portable between Mac OS X, Linux, and BSD, but significant kernel differences between these systems makes porting low-level, kernel-integrated technologies like GCD more work. In particular, Mac OS X uses a unique kernel design based on a hybrid of Mach and BSD. Porting GCD to FreeBSD required adaptations to account for a more conventional kernel environment without a Mach layer, such as using POSIX semaphores instead of Mach semaphores. FreeBSD's porting efforts should help to make GCD easier to port to other operating systems with conventional Unix or Unix-like kernels, including OpenBSD, NetBSD, Linux, and Solaris..........................

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen I try to update my billing information the software adds additional digits to my zip code. This is all fine and dandy, it matches to where I live. But my bank only uses the standard five digits and when it adds the additional digits they will not match up correctly despite the first five being matched. This causes an endless and stupidly frustrating cycle that I cannot solve. I tried to find a phone number to call and sort this out but of course that doesn't exist.

However, one issue annoys me to no end: In Tiger, if I wanted to go to a web address that ends in ".com" all I had to do was type the domain name. No typing "www" at the beginning or ".com" at the end. This was enabled by default. After performing a clean (erase and install) install of Leopard, it appears that feature is gone. I cannot find it in Preferences.

I've had a number of problems after installing Yosemite. One is that when I click on a drop-down item in the main Finder navigation, the first click of my trackpad seems to "release." I have to click a second time to take action.
Other problems after installing Yosemite have included booting only to reach a gray screen with the cursor in the upper left corner ... that's as far as it got. I've also had my screen images become something like a pixel puzzle ... rips, tears, and disintegration. I've done clean installs and reloaded content from a Time Machine backup and that has mostly, but not completely, resolved the problems. These problems, including the need to click twice described above, have occurred on both my iMac and my MacBook Pro.

I am using Yosemite 10.10.1 (14B25). I use dreamweaver a lot as a developer and it appears to crash many times a day.
While this could very well be an Adobe issue, once the app crashes and I force quit it, it will not open again.
After it completely shuts down, I try and reopen it and it will just bounce and eventually stop without opening.
Is there any command line I can run to clear whatever is happening on restart so I dont have to restart multiple times per day to just continue using the app?
