Suddenly I am no longer able to send email via BT Yahoo. The connection doctors shows all green lights. Receiving email is ok. Recently took encryption off as unable to use keyboard to sign in.

Whenever I try to send a mail from Mail I can't because I get "certificate for this server is invalid" I only have one SMTP server and that's yahoo.co.uk.

immediately after downloading yosemite which seemed to have resulted in my email account not working.
no matter what I do, when trying to send an email Iget messages of SMTP offline'; I have tried all kinds of suggestions from on here all to no effect.
Tonight I deleted the accounts, logged off, rebooted and recreated the two email accounts. I can now receive email but still cannot send and get the same 'SMTP Offline' message as before.
As before the two accounts and same settings work flawlessly on iPad 2, windows laptop and two Android based phones, so must be linked to the iMac and Yosemite?

I can receive but cannot send IMAP email on my 1&1 mail account from Mac OS 10.10.1 Yosemite Mail on my new Macbook Pro. The account is set up the same port, password, username, server name as on my old Macbook and emails are sending just fine on the old computer.
When I hit send on the new Macbook Pro running Yosemite I get this message: "The connection to host ... on port 993 failed. I got three accounts and two are gmails working great but yahoo account recently i added.
i buttoned the send massage and i see the outbox icon spinning and a message box pops up asking the yahoo account password.
I typed it in several times but it neve went through but the same massage box keeps coming up.

I have a couple of issues with the macbook pro with yahoo. first of all I have a yahoo small business account. When i log into yahoo from the safari browser I can get into my regular mailbox on yahoo, but when i click to get into my small business domain it just goes back to the yahoo log in page. But I don't have any problem on a pc. Only from my macBook pro.
The next problem is what are the settings to send mail from the mail program on the macBook pro using snow leopard for yahoo small business. On my pda the incoming server is [URL] and the outgoing is [URL]
I need to delete ALL settings in Mail...
I have an issue where I can receive mail but cannot send mail to any yahoo account on this Macbook Pro.
My other devices (other macs) work just fine.
This particular Mac - gets a 554 Error (229) under my user when I send mail to Yahoo. But under Guest, it works just fine.
I've deleted my account (gmail) and reinstalled it - but the error keeps coming back.
There must be some setting cached somewhere that reverts the settings back.

I cannot send mail. This has been an occasional problem. I'd send and a pop-up would offer me choice: Cancel, ~Trash, or Save as Draft. I'd save and successfully send as a draft. The last few days I've had to the saved draft and send in Eudora. Today I spent some time on this. At first it looked all right in Mail/Preferences/Accounts, smtp.west.cox.net.user name--then it persistently included (Offline), but Mail menu bar/ Window showed Take All Accounts Online dimmed and Take All Accounts Offline as the active option. When I'm done (Offline) again pops up on theOutgoing Mail Server (SMTP). I deleted the account and recreated it and could not send. The (Offline) did not appear after the smtp.cox.net.user name. Early 2006 iMac, OS 10.6.8 The settings are OK, the same as in Eudora.

Gmail's UI compared to Yahoo's UI looks like something that hasn't been finished or something. Yahoo's UI just looks more polished (am I the only one who likes yahoo better than gmail?) , anyways, the only advantage I found to Gmail was the free IMAP access (you have to pay for POP access on yahoo).
Searching around on the web for ways to have free POP access with yahoo mail, I found a software solution from a company called Zimbra . It's a mail application that lets you access your free yahoo account(s) from your desktop. You can also add other POP (or IMAP) enabled accounts (AOL, hotmail, Gmail, Outlook accounts, etc).
I just downloaded the application on my mac and I've been playing around with it. I was wondering if anyone has had positive or negative experiences with this application. Good enough to replace the other mail apps?

Getting Alert from Yahoo stating "you are about to sync the following info with Yahoo .contacts. What would you like to do? #1 option Merge data on this computer{MBP} & Yahoo!#2 option Replace data on this computer! I went in my MBP hard drive and deleted sync entries for Yahoo about 3-4 times-they just keep appearing after I get the "ALERT" notification every few hours.Check my Yahoo acct and there is no Alert listed.This I know is a big PAIN.SUGGESTIONS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
