I forgot to turn off my mac book pro for three day without using it, when I can back the screen was not responding, only the start sound has working. A friend told me to press cmd+mag+r+p at the start and it worked my mac is now working. But my webcam and the illumination of the keys is not.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy iSight on my MBP used to work fine on all apps as well as video chat sites, but it recently started working only occasionally on Omegle/Chatroulette. On my end, I could see myself, but others said they couldn't see me, and their cams were just black boxes like they weren't loading. It was the same way on both Firefox and Safari, so it couldn't be a browser issue. I thought it may have been an issue that came with the newest OS X update (the one with the Mac app store from just the other day), so I reinstalled OS X from the disk that came in the box. Now chat sites don't even recognize it and I get the "webcam required" message as though I don't even have one. But, Skype and iChat can use it just fine. I even reset the SMC by holding down left shift, control, option, and power with the computer off, but nothing changed. I am running the latest Flash (ver. 10.1.102.64) according to [URL].

It shuts itself off if I tilt the screen while using it (then the laptop tells me that there is no detected camera), and now, for the nth time, is not being recognized by my Macbook at all. I've done the special restart a few times in a row now (the one where you hold down the left Shift-Control-Option and the power button), and it still doesn't work. I went under System Information and the camera wasn't even detected there. What should I do?

when i go to a flash website that requests access to my webcam it asks for permission to use the webcam as usual, but my webcam does not activate. the webcam does still function in other os software like photobooth.

My sister just bought a refurbished 13" MacBook Pro?The built-in camera is "flickering," but it appears to only be happening in applications made by Apple, or at least ones preinstalled on the computer. The applications affected that I have tested are: iMovie, FaceTime, Photo Booth, and iChat. It's not really a "flicker," per se, but large horizontal chunks of the video will displace and often show up as green -- it all moves very rapidly -- very hard to explain, but it is definitely not normal behavior.
iChat takes the issue a step further: the camera preview in iChat Preferences shows nothing but a blank screen. The camera works flawlessly in Skype, and also in web browers thorugh Adobe Flash. So, I am very certain this is not a hardware issue. It also worked perfectly during the setup walkthrough when the computer was first turned on and it had her take a photo for her user account. I've tried resetting application preferences by deleting the preference files, resetting PRAM and SMC, shutting down/restarting the computer, and I've applied all possible Software Updates. System Information (formerly System Profiler) shows the camera under USB, so the computer is recognizing it. Finally, we called Apple and they said to reinstall OS X, which my sister just did. The problem's still there. It wasn't a "clean" install though, because all of her files and preferences were kept in-tact, so maybe that is why.

View 7 Replies View Related- How can i turn off keyboard illumination in windows? There's no such option in neither keyboard preferences nor the BootCamp panel. I tried to turn down the keyboard illumination to the lowest possible via the keys but the lowest still illuminates the keyboard.
- It seems that my user account created under Windows does not have full Administrator privileges. I'm trying to get rid of a file and it tells me i don't have Administrator rights to do that. When i go into properties of the file the checkboxes are greyed out and i can't activate administrator rights under my user-name.
How do i gain proper and full Administrator rights? I tried to log out and log in as Administrator but the only user to choose from is the the only one user i created when installed Windows.
I've got a late 2011 macbook pro 13'' and seem to have a problem with the automatic keyboard illumination. When is set to automatic the backlight dims in low light conditions instead of brightening. I hold my finger in front of the light sensor and it dims the keyboard to hlf the brightness, I take it off and the keyboard lights up full brightness.

I reinstalled OS X from a Leopard dvd earlier (took it to an apple store and borrowed their superdrive), then transferred my info from my black macbook (latest revision, so has the volume keys as F10,F11,F12, play at F8 etc) via time machine. Once that had finished, I logged in on the air and tried to lower the brightness. It wouldn't work, so i tried the other F keys and they don't perform their functions.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had the bug since installing the latest Lion update 10.7.3 I never shut down my 17" MBP, just close the lid and let it sleep, however, since the latest Lion update when I open the lip the screen illumination comes on briefly and then turns off - I then hit one of the screen brightness buttons (F1 & F2) and the screen illumination comes back on. How do I go about correcting this ? I've read that resetting the power controls could resolve this bug, but not sure how to perform the reset.

Yesterday, without spilling anything on it, the left click on my trackpad (and on my wireless mouse) stopped functioning(MacBook Air/OSX 10.6.4/1.6 GhZ) After one hour it started working again. At first, I thought it must be related to settings that i had messed up in the meantime (Universal access, mouse keys etc).However it turned out not to be the case. I tried virus scan, PRAM reset, but it didn't help. Today i took it to the Apple store, they proposed to replace the keyboard. Since I am out of warranty I don't want to pay 200 euros if the problem can be solved without the replacement of the keyboard.

View 8 Replies View RelatedAfter hearing the Mac startup tone normally if you hold down C it will boot from the Mac Install/Recovery disc or if you press cmd+option+P+R it will reset the PRAM or cmd+option+V should show the unix style boot up sequence.
None of these shortcuts seem to be working on my Mac and it boots straight into Mac OS 10.5, why there not working and how I can get these startup shortcuts working again?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn viewing the video tutorial for expose, I note that reference is made to use of the f9, f10 & f11 keys to view open files. None of these work for me on my system - the f9 does nothing and the f10, f11 and f12 controls the sound. If I tap the expose icon in the dock, I can see the various files I have open, but if the tutorial is correct, what am I doing wrong?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSearched and kind of found an answer, but it doesn't seem to be 100% correct for me. Right now, MOST of the FKEYS do what is printed on them, controlling sound, brightness, F9 and F10 only work when you hold the fn key (lower left). How can I get those to work without that? I know there is an option in the Keyboard control panel, but that only makes it so I have to use the fn key for ALL of them.
