Why is my Rocketfish HD Webcam not working?

I would cross-post this mail I sent to the HighPoint support folks in the off chance that someone here (Hi nano!) can help me sort this out.I recently purchased the RocketRAID 4310 with the hopes of using it to replace my pain in the ass CalDigit. Read below for what a "good time" this has turned into.IHopefully you can educate me where I have gone wrong and get this working. As it stands now it looks like this card does not work with a Mac at all. Being that was the main reason for purchasing it I am not very happy.I first tested the card in a PC to make sure that it was functioning correctly, and all worked well. The card came with a BIOS (non EFI) installed. I then followed the directions in the manual to get the card up and running my new 2008 Mac Pro.

Anyone know where to get FREE screensavers or desktop backgrounds like this?? I've searched google for a while and kept coming across pay sites or foolish links. I was hoping someone would know where to get something like this or if they currently have one??

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 2009 Mac Mini, which does not have a webcam. I don't need an expensive one, but I'd like to stick a basic one on there for iChat, etc.
I see webcams in the various stores for $25 or $30, which seem like they'd do the trick, but the boxes always say they're for Windows systems only.
I'm assuming that means the software that comes with them. But if I buy any old Microsoft or HP web cam and just plug it in, will the Mini see it and understand it?
I am so frustrated! This is the fourth webcam I've tried. I have downloaded drivers and nothing ever works.
This is the GearHead Quick 8.0 MP Auto Focus Webcam. I put in the cd and it came up with the Webcam Driver. One says setup.exe and one says autorun.inf Obviously the .exe didn't work and the autorun.inf pulled up text edit. I tried to go on the website and download the driver and it gives me the same things. I just don't know what to do!!
Will this monitor be compatible with my mac mini? It also comes with a webcam, and I was wondering if I'd be able to use that as well.
How would the color look on it? Right now I'm using a 2 maybe 3 year old dell screen in the shape of a square and the color looks kind of fuzzy. How would it look on that particular monitor?

Will this webcam work with my Mac Mini? Also, do most webcams work with Macs?
I just got a Mac mini and I really love OS X. One thing that I really want to get though is a webcam. I really liked having it on my HP laptop. I don't need the most expensive cam ever, but I don't want something that is gonna look really bad (while my friend's MacBook Pro has good iSight video quality). I would most likely only be using it for iChat and ooVoo. I was thinking about this one since reviews say that people are using it with their own Mac minis: [URL]

My iSight on my MBP used to work fine on all apps as well as video chat sites, but it recently started working only occasionally on Omegle/Chatroulette. On my end, I could see myself, but others said they couldn't see me, and their cams were just black boxes like they weren't loading. It was the same way on both Firefox and Safari, so it couldn't be a browser issue. I thought it may have been an issue that came with the newest OS X update (the one with the Mac app store from just the other day), so I reinstalled OS X from the disk that came in the box. Now chat sites don't even recognize it and I get the "webcam required" message as though I don't even have one. But, Skype and iChat can use it just fine. I even reset the SMC by holding down left shift, control, option, and power with the computer off, but nothing changed. I am running the latest Flash (ver. 10.1.102.64) according to [URL].

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Macbook Pro has been having some problems with the built in webcam recently. It shuts itself off if I tilt the screen while using it (then the laptop tells me that there is no detected camera), and now, for the nth time, is not being recognized by my Macbook at all. I've done the special restart a few times in a row now (the one where you hold down the left Shift-Control-Option and the power button), and it still doesn't work. I went under System Information and the camera wasn't even detected there. What should I do?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI haven't used my built-in web cam in months now and out of sheer bordem decided to play around with Photo Booth, to my surprise nothing was showing up. It's just a blank screen. The little green light by the lens goes on, but nothing comes up.

I got the mini a few weeks ago and have been struggling to make the Pro 9000 HD work properly on it.
The camera always works. The problem is the mic which works only intermittently one out of ten times maybe.
I did some googling and found other people having similar issues.
So, I reckon this webcam just doesn't work properly with mini.
However, I found that it always works after reseting PRAM. I don't want to do that everytime I power on the mini (not sure if that would do any physicial damage to the ram either).
My mac book pro web cam isn't working... the green light turns on, but no picture.

I have a mini i7 with a Logitech HD Pro webcam. The person at the other end gets a bad echo of themselves when video chatting. The issue is on my side, not theirs. Tried face time and google talk. Even tried two different web cams. My wife's iMac has a check box to "use ambient noise reduction" my mac mini doesn't have that option. How can I fix this. Surly there are mac mini owners using webcams?

when i go to a flash website that requests access to my webcam it asks for permission to use the webcam as usual, but my webcam does not activate. the webcam does still function in other os software like photobooth.
i wasn't having issues prior to snow leopard so i was wondering if any other SL users were experiencing this issue
I just noticed that sometime today the rocket thing (forgotten what it's called) on the dock has disappeared so now I can't access things like the dvd player, etc.
How do I find it and get it back on the dock?

My sister just bought a refurbished 13" MacBook Pro?The built-in camera is "flickering," but it appears to only be happening in applications made by Apple, or at least ones preinstalled on the computer. The applications affected that I have tested are: iMovie, FaceTime, Photo Booth, and iChat. It's not really a "flicker," per se, but large horizontal chunks of the video will displace and often show up as green -- it all moves very rapidly -- very hard to explain, but it is definitely not normal behavior.
iChat takes the issue a step further: the camera preview in iChat Preferences shows nothing but a blank screen. The camera works flawlessly in Skype, and also in web browers thorugh Adobe Flash. So, I am very certain this is not a hardware issue. It also worked perfectly during the setup walkthrough when the computer was first turned on and it had her take a photo for her user account. I've tried resetting application preferences by deleting the preference files, resetting PRAM and SMC, shutting down/restarting the computer, and I've applied all possible Software Updates. System Information (formerly System Profiler) shows the camera under USB, so the computer is recognizing it. Finally, we called Apple and they said to reinstall OS X, which my sister just did. The problem's still there. It wasn't a "clean" install though, because all of her files and preferences were kept in-tact, so maybe that is why.
