When I download audio files from Vuze they play perfectly in itunes but I cannot sync them with my Iphone. Is there some kind of transcoding I need to perform before my Iphone will support these audio files?

I have a wmv file of my nephew's college senior recital. Took it with a Flip video when I was using a Windows computer. Now, I'm using exclusively Macs with Yosemite and can't view the video. Is there a way to convert a wmv file to a Mac format?

I'm an old-school Visual Hub user when it comes to converting video formats. Unfortunately, that app is no longer being made and it doesn't solve my current problem so looking for some advice. My nephew won an MP3/video player as part of a contest at school. Its not an iDevice but its a prize and he's enamored with it. The problem is, although it supports video, it only seems to support files formatted in the "MTV" format which I understand to be really limited technology.
Can anyone recommend a decent media conversion program that will let me convert MP4's, AVI's and such to the MTV format? Its likely time I upgrade from Visual Hub anyways so I don't mind spending some money on a useful app. The problem is most of those I see mentioned in the forums here don't specifically mention the MTV format.
I shot some videos on my phone and would like to convert them to another format for the computer. Does anyone know a program for mac to do that? I know there are LOTS on windows but I am too lazy to reboot out of the awesome Mac OS X.

I've noticed this since iTunes 10.6 where the album art on my music, iTunes purchased or imported, doesn't get transferred over to my iPhone 4S (5.0.1) nor my iPhone 4 (5.1) with "Convert higher bitrate songs to XXX kbps AAC" checked in iTunes.
I've tried transferring with Lion and Windows 7 under Bootcamp (both OS are using the latest iTunes 10.6.1) and both are doing the same thing.
Is this a bug that Apple is missing (anywhere to send bug reports)?

I need to transcribe audio files and need an application that will play audio files at double their rate (and half their rate) so that I can quickly go through audio files and then concentrate on the pertinent portions. Any applications for Mac OS X? Free is always good!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a bunch of videos that I recorded on my windows computer, they're in an uncompressed AVI format (huge files). Since I wanted to use iMovie 09 for the editing I decided to convert them to mp4 using VisualHub (to compress them and so they would work with iMovie) and they seemed to work fine, I could still see the video on Quicktime. The problem is that I still can't add them to iMovie. Whenever I add one of these videos as mp4 or dv (I've tried both) they go through the process of adding them to iMovie (copying, creating thumbnails, etc.) and then when it's finished, that's it. No video is actually added to the event. It happens all the time no matter what other options I change when converting the file. And by the way, I noticed the "Show All Clips" option at the bottom of the iMovie main window, it's not that. Anyway, here's the info on one of the files (from the Quicktime X info page of the video):

Format: H.264, 800 x 600, Millions, AAC, 2 channels, 44100 Hz
FPS: 30
Data Size: 84.3 MB
Data Rate: 4,505.10 kbit/s
(This file goes through the process when I add it to iMovie, but doesn't actually get added). Some of them have an 840 x 524 size instead of 800 x 600, but they still fail to get added to iMovie properly.
I would like to format a partition on an old iMac (mid-2007) that is compatible with Xubuntu 11.10. According to Disk Utility the current partition is formatted with Mac OS Extended (journaled). None of the other format options appear to be likely candidates.Certainly the existing format does not appear to work. What must I do?

I have an old G4 eMac with an 800 MHz processor, it's still using panther. The computer will not recognize my iPhone and I can not upload raw images from my digital camera. I understand that I need iPhoto 6 and osx 10.4 for the iPhone. I only use this computer for music and simple photo manipulation. If I get these upgrades will my computer accept them or has my camera and phone made my old computer obsolete?

However it turns out that the sound part is not playbak correctly inside QT player. Is QT player not supposed to playback this kind of file? BTW, I'm on OSX 10.7.3, Quicktime player is version 10.1.

For music I've been primarily listening to pandora for quite a while now, and am finally wanting to convert my CD collection to something I can put in my iPhone. I'm going to upgrade my car stereo soon w/USB hookup. I'm a bit of a freak when it comes to sound quality, and I used to burn CD mixes so I have CDs in AIFF format on my hard drive( -I know). I looked everywhere and can't find some free software that does that. There are tons that have trial periods with lots of limitations (like it won't convert anything larger than a 5k size file) so I don't want those because I won't know if the thing works well unless I pay for it. I'm not opposed to paying for a converter IF I know it works awesome on a Mac.

I was tinkering with the settings on the Audio MIDI Setup (in the Utilities folder) on my 21.5" iMac but I cannot remember what the default settings are supposed to be. If I remember correctly, I think the Format should be 44100.0Hz and 2ch-24bit for the Built-in Microphone, Built-in input, and Built-in Output.
