OS X :: Visited Troll Site Unknowingly - What To Do
Dec 12, 2008
I recently visited a troll site unknowingly. I was led to that site from a completely legitimate site, I have no idea why that site was linked as the site designer but it was. GNNA was the organization and I clicked on a tab and boom my computer started opening tons of word documents, ichat windows and safari windows as well. I am very concerned as I had to manually shut down my macbook pro and it seems to be running a bit slower now (perhaps it could just be my conscious). I have downloaded Virus Barrier from the apple software page and nothing has come up. However when I looked in my files I had a bunch of .wmv's with GNAA in it. They have all been since deleted I'm just curious if I should be worried and if reformatting is a good idea.
every time i open a site and click something it will direct me to a new site. this happens everytime without fail.. (on every site) also my web cam. I have deleted a load of stuff and randon apps iv have downloaded. i have change some internet setting but still nothing happens. seem to be ever since i down loaded the new update.
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
I use IWeb to make my site with no problem. however now I'm doing another site and can't publish it (the new site). I've tried to erase my site from "sites" but cannot publish the other site!
I managed to get Site2Site VPN working between two different networks/office buildings using the guide from apple.com. One network server/gateway is 192.168.0.1 and the other is 192.168.1.1, everything works, every client can see every client and every client can see every serverSo far so good. But what I can't do is ping from Mac server one (192.168.0.1) to the other mac server on the other network (192.168.1.1) and vice versa. The VPN Site2Site option is great and very easy to set up, I only need to resolve this last?
cannot open a webpage that I have visited ok before. I know that the website has been updated in the last 2 days and has had GIS mapping improvements made to it.I can access the updated website fine on my windows laptop.
Visited link colors in Safari, most notably visited Google links when I return to the search page, don't change colors as they used to do. Actually, I think it's been that way for a long time (years) now but I am just now coming back around to being interested in why and if there is a way to get back to the days where new links were BLUE and visited links were GREEN (or whatever color you wanted). Is this still possible with the new Safari and if so, how do you go about setting this visted link color preference?
When I open Safari 5.1.5 it opens the last page I was in previously, not my designated homepage, which I would prefer. I looked in Preferences to change it, but to no avail. Upgraded to Lion yesterday.
i opened hurr durr and everytime i shut down the mac and open it and click on safari it comes back. How do i make it just open without going to most recently visited page?
When I use Google to search for something and click on a result, then navigate back to the search results, the link that I just clicked shows up as visited (it is a different color). However when I refresh the results or search for the same results again, that very same webpage shows up as unvisited (same color as all other links on the page). I've narrowed this down to specifically an issue with Google, or at least not browser-wide (visited links are being remembered on CNN.com). I'm using Firefox 3.0.5, history is being remembered for 30 days in preferences. I've tried logging out of Google and searching as a guest and it still doesn't work. I've verified that it works correctly in Safari.
Well, I am considering buying the new MacBook or the MacBook Pro. I currently have a whitebook and I would like to ask the alu MacBook users the following question. Is the alu MacBook fans going really laud when you visit web sites with flash videos or when you watch youtube videos. I am asking that because my whitebook is getting laud as hell then I perform the above actions and if the alubook is doing the same I am considering buying the Pro, which is match more quite.
I'm a new Mac-user having used PC:s for 25 years. On my Windows Desktop it was easy to place new icons with shortcuts to websites I often visit. I have tried to do this on my Mac, creating Bookmarks, exporting them to Desktop. Iicons appear. But when clicked they don't connect with the webaddresses I have given.
I have read Q&A from someone who tried to give similar shortcuts to customers, but I did not understand the answers. I'm Swedish and Mac Keyboard and Desktop menues etc are in Swedish so the exact terms in English may be difficult to translate. My problem is different since it's only on my Mac I need the shortcuts/icons/links.
I have a mass amount of files to download listed on a Web page. When I click the link, the file downloads, but the link on my downloads page never changes colors to note that the link has been visited.
Is this a bug and is there a work around for my HTML page? Currently I'm using javascript to change link colors.
I use a Fortigate router and would like to track what sites are visited by the people using my network. Was told if you set up a syslog server we can dump the information from the fortigate to it.
I am using a MacMini server 10.6 and would like to know the best way of going about this. Is there a program out there I can use?
Something I've done in the past few days has caused Safari to not change color for visited links "only" on Google search pages, which is where it's most needed. This is still working fine on FireFox. I tried creating another user account and it works fine with that. Just not with my primary account. I've done all the typical things. repaired permissions, repaired disk, completely reset Safari to default and made sure all caches, etc. were cleaned out. Both manually and with Onyx, reset associated .plist files, history, cookies, private browsing. Returning to a Google search page still shows all visited links as blue, as if they'd never been visited.
Another clue is if I log out of my Google account (which I have to be logged into 24/7 for Gmail, Google bookmarks, iGoogle, etc., it starts working, then stops working as soon as I log into my Google account again. I posted this on Google Groups but got no response. This also works fine on my wife's Mac, so it's definitely a problem just in my user account. I know I could just add a new account and use that, but it would mean re-installing all 70 applications I have now installed as they're not setup for use except with my account. I'd like to avoid that and find the actual culprit. BTW, this worked fine for a long time. Just quit working about a week ago, but it wasn't in conjunction with any new hardware or software.

Why visited pages, e.g facebook, are shown in history even though I have private browsing mode enabled?, why pages, e.g facebook are shown in history even though I have private browsing mode enabled?
I have searched a LOT and think I need to rebuild my site, but I wanted to know if I can avoid that. I have three sites created in iWeb. They are all published to the web. I have one domain file (should there be three???)
I have all of the website pages in my website file....however, within iWeb I deleted all of the pages for one of the sites. In order to ever edit those pages, do i need to rebuild them or can I transfer them back in somehow??
One more note...I do have that particular website in its entirety in iWeb on another laptop...(not mine and I do not have continual access to it); will this help me? Can I somehow merge the two iWeb apps so that I have all three websites??
On rare occasions I end up at a virus attack site where the owner tries to get me to dl a virus by telling me my computer is infected already...last night was the first time I came upon one of those while using OSX. I just couldn't stop laughing, and so added it to failblog today, thought all of you might appreciate it too.
i have been using iDisk as back-up storage and as an FTP site (using FileChute) for client files. From what i can tell, this will no longer be possible with iCloud. Worked simply and quickly. Hope there is an iCloud alternative.
I just want some clarification on this, with .mac you could obviously publish a website to it, is this still possible with mobile me? The site and all info provided at this point makes no indication of it, but with 20 gigs of space you've got to be able to, because what happens to iweb and all the other site hosted by people's .mac? I'm gonna get a free mobile me, I don't have a .mac but if I'm gonna use it, it hinges on being able to host my site from it.
