My kids downloaded an extension of an app, made for kids, that cost $100. They thought it was free, until I got the bill. How can I get a refund for this and remove the app? This is wrong on so many levels, beginning with having a free app for kids luring them to a ridiculously priced one.
i got my mac yesterday and installed office and i already read thru some threads and i guess there is no way to really delete it from your doc. folder huh? also, do we need ichat icons (its stored in my pics) can i delete it or do i need it for some reason and for the ichat logs. how do i get rid of that?
My Macbook 6,1 (late 2009 model) has OS 10.10.1 with Safari 8. My husband downloaded Shockwave to try and watch football on the laptop! After that he started getting unwanted pop up ads. Now we also get re-directed to pages that we can't get off of and have to force quit. I understand there is no way to reset Safari 8 - and I cannot find it a way to empty cache? Unfortunately we have not backed since upgrading to Yosemite OS.
When we download new pictures in Windows and saved in a folder, we simply view it using Window Picture Viewer, scroll along and delete pictures we don't want. Easy and straight forward.
I did the same saving all new pictures in a folder. Then problem arrises:
1) When click the 1st picture to commence viewing, its not able to scroll to the next one. unlike Picture Viewer. So does it mean I have to open up individual pic, close, move cursor to next pic, open, delete unwanted pic, close, move cursor to next ....repeat....repeat.....one by one at a time. That is mind bogging absurd.
2) Then I use space bar and able to scroll forward. When reach the last pic of the row. it stop, Then I have to move cursor down and now scroll backwards. Seems very strange. Its kind of zig-zag manner. And after deleting pic, I have to start all over again instead of continuing from last pic. Again this is crazy.
I haven't really explore iphoto yet but don't tell me to use iphoto to do the job. That means I have to import photos from folder to iphoto and that is double job. Not forgetting there is no "cut and paste" function at right click mouse and that also means duplication.
Surely Mac is meant for graphics and there must be a much easier way than Window Picture Viewer, right?
Last week I have discovered two volumes (net and home) on my iMac. I have no idea when and how they were created, but they are empty. I would like to remove them, but cannot find how to do this.
It used to be that when I selected a message in my IN box and pressed "delete," the message would end up in TRASH. Now when I press "delete," nothing happens. The message stares back at me without blinking.
Should I choose an alternate route: Mail > Message > Move To > Trash, again nothing happens.
How can I force my machine to delete unwanted email messages? I'm running Mail.app 1.3.11 on OSX 10.3.9.
We send to our clients four pdfs attached to one mail when they purchase our services - they and our colleagues in accounts receive 8 attachments - copies of the pdf as .png or .bin or attachment (internet explorer 4.5 document) which is either a copy of the email text or blank. Cannot find anything in the settings, tried to change encoding, badgered our entourage and our isp.
I bought a app thinking it was photoshop the for my Macbook Pro, but turns out it was a app that teaches you how to use Photoshop. I have no use for the app and wondering if i could get a refund for this app?
Last night I plugged in an external USB hard drive into my MacBook, and a ton of files were missing from it. Roughly 300 files were converted into aliases which do not seem to point to anything. The date modified on the aliases says December 31, 1903 at 5:00 p.m. I am very scared these files have been lost...
Info: MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8), iOmega HDD is the specified disk.
is there no way to remove 'core' applications like Safari, AppsStore, PhotoBooth etc. NONE of which I want or need ... I have favoured applications which I which to continue to use and these others are just clutter which take up space in the applications folder .....Â
trying to delete them just throws up a "this is needed by the System" message ..... You can't even move them or hide them .... I find it difficult to believe that either AppsStore or Safari is needed by any system (apart from the Apple accounting system).... Whatever happened to the 'user friendly' Macs I've known for so many years. Do I really have to put up with Apple deciding what applications I want or need?Â
My screen is jammed with unwanted pop ups when I open Safari. They persist whether I close and reopen Safari, restart the computer, oe shut down overnight.
I have a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.2. I have two folders A and B on airport drives. I wish that Folder B be an exact copy of folder A. Chronosync is installed on my computer. My problem is that folder B contains files which are not on folder A. I can't seem to find a setting on chronosync to remove same, I know it should be a simple thing to do.
I have just updated to OS X10.7.3 and now each time I start up the following apps have been added to the Dock:Â
Mission Control App Store Face TimeÂ
I don't want them in the Dock and have to delete them every time I start or restart my iMac. I have checked in Prefs and they are not listed under startup so I am at a loss as how to stop them auto loading onto the Dock.Â
I am using Pages on a MacBook Pro. I can't find a way to delete documents that are no longer needed. I have many duplicates and no longer needed documents that I would like to get rid of.
I've downloaded 100 Apps since getting my iPhone. Of which, only 70 I've enabled to be sync'd to my iPhone. If updates are available for the other 30, iTunes downloads them even though I am not sync'ing them to my iPhone. Is there a way to permanently delete these unwanted Apps from my iTunes so that I am not spending time getting updates to Apps I am no longer intersted in?
Since upgrading to OS Lion, my email account password is stored without my permission. I cannot delete it and keep the setting. This means my mail automatically logs in when the application is opened! (Many hours on tech support and escalated up the chain.Â
Looking at my console log I see that my computer is being woken up repeatedly by Time Machine.Since I don't backup every hour this seems to be a wasteful interruption to Sleep Mode, and effectively disables it; not something I want. The console message I see is "Not starting Time Machine backup after wake"..Is there a parm that I can set somewhere to prevent this? I have "Don't wake for network access" set but that seems to affect incoming rather than internally
When opening a finder window there are now several unwanted icons on the toolbar, 2 are for games and one for a certain website. Don't know how they got there and customizing the toolbar does nothing to remove them or show how they got there either.
About month or two ago, I started getting excessive ads on my computer. Scams, Microsoft stuff, Adobe Flash upgrades hat were obviously fake. The ads generally appeared on the pay, but evolved to gene ate separate tabs and windows. It gets really annoying when i can't click twice without getting a scam, or being redirected. I don't know if there are similar topics. i'm not going to look cause in the 5 minutes it took for me to write this, I've been redirected TWICE.
