May 9, 2010I use a Mac Mini G4 1.25GHz with 1Gb RAM, and whenever I try and play HD videos streamed over the internet they never play smoothly, but very choppily. E.g HD Youtube video. why wont they play smoothly?

Jun 3, 2014I've just bought a brand new MacBook Pro 15 inch retina, upgraded to 2.7ghz processor.
Video content on YouTube and Vimeo is juddering and skipping worse than it does on my 2009 MacBook Pro. It's not smooth at all.
I've had the computer a couple of weeks and haven't had a chance to install anything on it yet (aside from flash player to play the videos), so it's basically as it came from the factory.

Jan 21, 2009Basically I want to watch high definition videos on my 42" hdtv so I bought the mini display port to hdmi adapter. When I play the videos with VLC I notice choppiness when things move too fast across the screen. Is this a limitation of the hardware (the integrated GPU?) Anyway I can perhaps smooth it out?

Jun 5, 2010I've got a really annoying problem on my mac that I'd do anything to get rid of. When I play a streamed movie or tv programme off the net (ie from iplayer or 4OD) firstly the mouse doesn't disappear after 3-4 seconds and is always visible on screen and secondly on some occasions the screen just goes white! I have to quit playback and then go back to full screen to get rid of it.

Mar 16, 2009I have an iMac 17" G5 1.6 intel with 2 Gb of RAM. I can watch videos with no problem unless I try to watch one online such as Youtube or something like a video on Fox news. I have a highspeed cable modem hookup through Cox Cable. I have tried switching between the airPort and direct ethernet hookup but is makes no difference. I don't have this problem with my MacBook Pro.

Safari :: Unable To Play Event Videos?
Jun 12, 2012I'm finding weird issues in Safari 5.1.7 under Snow Leopard the more I use it.On this Monday, I attempted to play the Apple WWDC 2012 video numerous times in Safari.The stream ticker loads as though the video is loading. Unfortunately, it never plays.What I see on the screen is a blue box with a white question mark inside where the video should play (image attached).
In addition, Safari will not play the other Apple Event videos prior to June 2012.I only see a white screen when attempting to play videos prior to June 2012. However, the WWDC 2012 and all other Apple Event videos play perfectly in Firefox 11.0.I've uninstalled, re-downloaded and reinstalled Safari with no success. I've also repaired permissions twice with no success. As well, I checked to be sure that no extensions were causing this

PowerPC :: Does G4 Handle YouTube Videos Smoothly?
Feb 1, 2009I currently have a powermac g4 gigabit ethernet model. It has a 400mhz cpu, 1gb RAM, and an ati rage pro video card with 16mb video memory. When I try to watch youtube videos (or any other online videos), it is choppy. I am looking into purchasing a PowerMac G4 Quicksilver. It would have a 1.4 ghz sonnet PPC cpu, 1 GB Ram, and an upgraded video card (I think ati) with 64mb video memory. I can get this quicksilver system for 250CDN.
Do you think that the quicksilver will be able to handle youtube videos better. Do you think it will be a major overall increase in preformance. I want to run flash cs3/cs4 on it. Currently on my gigabit ethernet model, flash cs4 runs pretty slow. In the end, do you think I will notice a overall increase in everything I do (including video streaming)? Please let me know if you think the quicksilver is a good upgrade.

I have vista home premium 64 bit and can't get it to stream through tversity. I do not want to buy an appletv I just want my shows to play on my tv in hd and not have to hook up my ipod. I animated a still image in Motion 4 but when it plays in FCP 7 it doesn't play smooth. I simply adds an image and then added a camera. I then added a move behavior and repositioned the image as well as have it zoom out. The problem is it looks very Jittery/choppy does anyone know why this would be happening and if so any ways to fix it?

I could have sworn that my G5 used to be able to play all levels of HD movies smoothly as anything sometime during normal Tiger usage.
Then one day, I noticed my G5 when on Tiger would stutter playing anything about 480.
I thought the upgrade to Leopard would fix this. But just today I upgraded to 10.5.3 on this G5 (I used the upgrade option on the install DVD to upgrade from Tiger) and it STILL won't play HD trailers 720 or 1080 smoothly.
is this supposed to be? Do I not have the minimum requirements to watch those kinds of resolutions anymore?
I know this machine is 4 years old now, but seriously? That seems crazy to me.
Does anyone else have this configuration and see similar or different behavior?

Dec 3, 2009I just bought the latest macbook pro. It is actually my first mac so I'm not really sure if this is supposed to happen. But I tried plugging in my "ordinary pc" (meant to say that is not a Mac mouse) mouse which is an A4Tech brand. It's working when I move the mouse in huge spaces. It goes smoothly that way. But when I try to move it in small little spaces, it's kind of like not going smoothly. Especially when I'm working on small details like Photoshop, it's kind of difficult to maneuver the mouse arrow. I tried other "pc" mouse as well but it's just the same.. Does this really happen if I'm not using Mac's mouse? How do I fix this?
