Since upgrading to Snow Leopard, when I send mail using Apple Mail, the message remains in my Drafts folder even though it's been sent successfully. Using Gmail with IMAP setup.

when i run a search in mail it is totally cluttered up with what appear to be DRAFTS of outgoing emails that are in the TRASH.is there a way to stop mail from creating these or to hide them from my search results?it's like someone upturned my trash buckets onto my desk over here.

A strange thing started happening recently on my Mac. When I send an email the email message remains in the Draft folder after it is sent. It shows up in the Sent folder, but still remains in the Draft folder.

I've found posts about problems emails saved within the drafts folder. My problem is that the whole folder has gone bye-bye. I just saved an email as a draft. Went back to finish it, and the folder isn't even showing up.Â
I can save an email as a draft, so as a test I did that, and then when I do a search using spotlight, it doesn't tell me where it is.Â

View 2 Replies View RelatedApple's new OSX Snow Leopard includes native Exchange email sync using Exchange Web Services but it seems that this does not sync emails in the same way outlook does: emails on Mail.app only update when you open a specific folder on your exchange mailbox (like IMAP does) and not like Outlook on windows where folders are updated in the background. does anyone know about this behavior and if it can be changed on Mail to work in the background? I've only tried this on a developer beta (latest version) of SL briefly and noticed this behavior but would like to get feedback from those that may have upgraded.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to restore the mail folder I get a permission error. Yet in info I have read, write permission for myself. I could not restore even a file in the library "mail folder. It maybe I cannot restore any file or folder because of permission problems. I ran disk utility and di a repair permissions. I even tried to do the I tunes folder. Same denial, do not have permission. Â
I started with a problem with my mailboxes I had in a import folder in mail. They did not list alpha and other querks. Read on a help page that you need to rebuild mailbox. The import mailbox was grayed out and I cannot rebuild. Also, I cannot delete or change any of the mailboxes inside the import mailbox.Â
Back to the rebuild, the site said to trash the envelope index file. I di and know I cannot read any messages stored in the folders that were in the import folder. This is where I decided maybe I could use time machine and get a copy of the old envelope index and replace it. No dice"not sufficient permissions. What a mess cannot read saved messages unless I go to library and find them.Â

I am running Lion (latest ver) on my iMac (2011, i7), and have icloud set up to sync mail (and other stuff) with my iPhone 4. My iCloud account Sent Mail and Drafts are being syncronized between the cloud the iPhone, but not the iMac. So for example, I see 2 items in my Drafts folder when I log into icloud.com, and I see them in the drafts folder on iPhone mail, but they do not appear in the drafts folder for my iCloud account on Mail.app on the iMac. Also, I don't see emails I sent from icloud.com on my Mac's mail. I have iCloud enabled on the mac, and mail syncing is specifically turned on. Â

I have a HITACHI touro desk 3TB external hard dive connected to my iMac OS X version 10.6.8 Every time i start up the system it stays on a grey screen until I unplug the usb of the external hard drive then the system boots up normally. I have tried connecting different usb cables, plug in to different usb ports, and nothing works. I have other external hard drives and they don't give me any problems. is a pain plugging and unplugging the usb cable. Â

I have several drafts in my draft box, but cannot get to them. When I select the box, nothing shows up. It says there are 32 in there. This has been going on for a few weeks, so its nothing new, just that I need to get to a couple of those drafts to find info I was going to send to customers.
I've tried rebuilding, but it won't let me select that. I've tried reading the posts, but haven't found anything that matches what is going on with my problem.
I'm using a powerbook g4 with leopard, current on updates. Thanks for any help.
On my iMac they sit there uness I manually delete them. This is not an issue on my iPad or iPhone.

I would like to create an archive of important application installers and I will sync the contents between two systems MacPro and Macbook Pro.Â
I need to pull the names of the application/developers from somewhere so I figured I would use the Application Support directory.Â
So I need a way to copy this directories folder structure without any of the file contents. Is there an easy way to do this. I found a post with an Automator script but the link is dead [URL]
I also found this post that refers to doing it in terminal but since it is the app support directory I am wary to do this as I am not familiar with terminal at all and I am not clear on what exactly to write in the old_dir / new_dir section. I figure it would be something like this /Library/Application Support but I dont want to make a mistake.Â

I have a rule that copies an email to the ON MY MAC and then another that MOVES TO A FOLDER in Mobileme. They are in this order. The problem is when I quit Mail the Folder I am copying to is changed to the Mobileme folder so I end up with a duplicate. It doesn't change until Mail is quit. The other odd part, there one arragement like this that did savef at some point and works as expected.Â
I have tried having both of these rules combined into 1 and have the same results.
When I try to change the settings for my Mail app, in Snow Leopard, the incoming mail settings are greyed out. What do I do to be able to change these?Â
(I had a problem, with my Mail account, which a consultant fixed for me on my laptop. But I cannot remember what he did to access the incoming mail server preferences, and make the changes, because on my desktop these are still greyed out.)

One IMAP account is intermittently losing all mail in inbox except for one message. After doing opening program the receive wheel spins for a long time, but at this point there are only 170 emails in the inbox because we moved all the rest to the on my mac inbox to try to solve this porblem. There are two accounts, both from the same provider, but one of them takes a long time to receive new mail.  The wheel spins for a long time - each time it gets mail.Â
Several times after finishing receive cycle, all the mail that was in the inbox disappears, except for one. I was able to get the emails to retrn by going into settings>accounts> and changing a random setting and then changing it back the way it was. All settings appear to be correct and match the other other account that is working correctly.Â

I just installed some routine updates for my Mac and now I can't receive any mail in my apple mail program. It is version 4.5 and I am using a mobile me account. I have a clean install of Snow Leopard and am trying to get some of my automator scripts working. Under Leopard, I could right-click on the desktop and select one of my workflows from the menu under Automator. Now, there is no ~/Library/Workflows folder in Snow Leopard and Automator doesn't have the Save as plugin option anymore. Does anyone know how to use automator scripts in Snow Leopard that doesn't involve opening Automator every time?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had this problem since I upgraded to SL and I'm finally looking for a solution, as it's mildly annoying So anytime I'm opening up a file browser window within an app - say, to upload or save a file in Firefox, or to open a file in any old program - I used to be able to navigate to a folder on my keyboard by typing the first letter or two of the name. Now, however, when I try to do that, nothing happens except the Mac makes that dull "thud" sound. Now, if I navigate inside a folder (by pressing the right arrow key) and then go back out (press the left arrow key), then it works like a charm. But what a pain!
