I want to show a picture or a movie over the isight rather than my face.Is there software that will create a "fake" isight where I can show a quicktime video or any image? I know iChat can do this but most people don't use that.I've seen apps for windows that allow this.

My 2 week old, new mac pro has brought me much joy, I love it. However my son and my daughter, would very much like to play with the photo booth. Apples fire wire isight, is no longer produced and sells for big bucks in the used hardware arena.
Are their any of you out their that have any 3rd party webcams, that work well with photo booth? I know that their are plenty of plug and play usb webcams, that will work with the likes of ichat. But from what I have read is that photo booth is some what picky with usb web cams. Slow and unresponsive.
I've been using my macbook for a few months right now, and primarily use it for recording me and my band-mates on Logic express, but now, I've not been able to use my iSight on my mac. I don't know what's wrong with it, because I've always been able to take photos with friends in Photo Booth and take movies with it as well. Up till now that is. A few days ago I tried to open up Photo Booth and snap a picture, but all I got was a blank screen. The program would count down, but the screen would just be white instead of showing what it would take. The little green light next to it would go on as well, but it wouldn't take a picture, and nothing is blocking the screen either.

I am not a huge fan of reality TV, but recently tuned in to an episode of Gene Simmons Family Values only to she Gene's daughter log on to a computer to view a streaming video from her Apple Notebook to see who was taking items from their kitchen.
I would love to be able to set up my Apple to view what in the world my bird, a large Macaw, is doing throughout the day to get nuts and seed some 10 feet or so from her cage. She is a great bird and doesnt scream or bite, but she is a trip and loves to joke around.
I'm trying to use ooVoo video conferencing software on my Mac to do three way video chat with a couple of friends that are using Windows. I've got it installed fine, but for some reason it's not recognizing iSight (built in on a Macbook), no matter what I do. It recognizes the built in mic, but no video at all.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI seem to having a problem with Photo Booth thats kinda weird. I take pictures with Photo Booth, but once they are taken they dont show up in the little row on the bottom. They are in the folder in Finder, but they don't show up so I can view them in-program. Just an odd thing I thought I would see if anyone has a fix for.Nothing major, just a minor annoyance.

The built in iSight cam doesn't seem to turn on (no green light) when I try to use it, and the person on the other end just sees a black screen for my webcam.

I've taken a load of photos on my phone and have placed them in an album within my photo stream, they are now showing up on my iPad but not on my mac which is where i really want them. I've tried turning the wifi on and off again, I've tried turn the devices off and on again. nothing is working! all i want is my work backed up.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFirst time posting, so hope this is an ok place to post this.I would like some advice. I currently have the first macbook pro 17" released. 2.16 core duo with 2GB ram. It can not even play my AVCHD fils (.mts) and it takes like 30 minutes to convert a 2 minute .mts file to something playable. So editing is non existent. I will be getting a Canon 7d or 5dmkII also soon for more video. I will most likely do a lot of filters and effects on the video as well. I am a photographer, I do a lot of photo editing of large multi layer files. My current macbook pro is a joke. I have creative suite cs3, and really cant afford a new computer AND an upgrade of the creative suite and the other upgrades i want to make to my photo equipment. CS3 doesnt run on snow leopard correct? However, i could possibly come up with the money if i need to. I am only looking to spend at max $1500 on the computer. So.

We weren't done with the video and everything was still recording when I left for a minute.When I returned, Photo Booth was closed. My friend has never used a Mac before and he's not sure what he did. He says he was trying to quit out of another program and he might've accidentally quit Photo Booth. Either that, or he pressed the X, thinking it was the minimize button on Windows.Anyways, where is the part of the video that we actually recorded? Did the entire thing not get saved at all just because we might've quit out of the program near the end of our video?

It only seems to be the backdrop that is quite laggy so I was wondering if this is just a case of there not being enough ram to handle it or is something else up.

I have the original 20' apple cinema display, but I am looking for a higher res display and I really don''t want to spend that much dough as I am in the process of upgrading photo/video equipment.I know the differences in quality between TN screens, and high quality IPS screens.

I'm purchasing a Macbook Pro and I will be using it primarily for video and photo editing. I will need strong hd write performance for video encoding. I would also like a very fast load time for my apps such as photoshop and final cut. I am considering SSD drive for fast load of my apps. I would put the OS and all apps on the SSD. I would get a second drive, the fast Momentus XT from Seagate, and install it where the DVD drive is currently located. I would use the second drive for all data such as photos and video. This would give me fast write speeds for encoding and transferring video and photos from the camera to the MBP.

When recording video in PhotoBooth mst of it is not captured. For example, say I record a video for 3 minutes, the clock will say 3 minutes, and once I hit stop the resulting video file will be around a minute long. This is happening with all recordings, however I do not have such problems when using video capture in iMovie.
