When start Safari, it opens but takes some 4 to 5 mn to load the home page, regardless of the internet connection.
With the same internet connection, web page opens almost instantly on my iPhone. Â

I've got safari 4 on 3 different mac's all running leopard with latest updates.
When browsing the web randomly it decides to take ages loading a page even sites like google. To make it load I have to stop it then press refresh.
I've tried unticking the fraudulent sites box and repairing permissions in disk utility, but i still get the same problem on all 3 mac's.
I have an iMac model identifier 9.1, with Mac OS X v10.5.8 and safari version 5.0.6. All programs are running normally (fast) except safari. When I try to load webpages it takes about 11 seconds to fully load. All other computers in my house are connected to the same internet and running fine. What do I do to make the loading faster?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI updated my circa 2013 Macbook Air 13" to OSX Mavericks and a strange issue has started. Every time I open Finder it takes literal minutes to load the file listing, and while it loads it freezes the section where the file listing loads with whatever background it was opened over. This happens all the time, and once it finally loads, it will do the same thing if I try to go to a different folder. This renders Finder essentially useless and I have had to add a third party (forklift) app to browse and manage files.Â

when I first purchased my Macbook (around 5 months ago) Safari would load in 3 bounces or less. But now when I try to use it I have to wait around as it takes 20-27 bounces before it finally starts up and begins loading a home page. My OSX version is v10.5.6 Safari is v3.2.1 So far I have RSS set to never update and have used the "reset Safari" option in the main Safari menu. But sadly I'm seeing no results in start up speed increase.

i'm having some serious problems with Safari.
i have already had to quit it 3 times today because it just wouldn't load web pages. i'm typing this in Opera now...
i can open web pages fine when i freshly open Safari, but then if i leave it for about 10 minutes, then come back and want to use it again, it's useless, and so far i haven't been able to access anything if i leave Safari open for more than 10 minutes.
i've just got the Security Update 2003-12-05 which is supposed to fix some Safari stuff... but this problem hasn't really started until yesterday.
Safari takes AGES to load pages and play videos!!! It takes 40 seconds to load the page the first time Safari is open (quit and open Safari or open after Mac reboot or cold boot) and 20 seconds to reload pages afterwards. Frustrating!!!
Firefox takes about 2 seconds, Chrome takes one second and Opera is real time. Latest versions of all in Mac OS X 10.6.8.

Certain webistes like [URL], take ages to load after i login. I have cleaned my cache , deleted cookies,etc.... In the apple store everything works fine , but not at home. When using other PC's / notebooks it all works fine, except my own Macbook. Other browsers on my Mc , have the same problem.

I downloaded the safari 4 beta and it was messing around with msn and some other applications so I did what some other people on here did and just uninstalled it. I now have safari 3 back and whenever I open the application it just starts up as a blank page. I have my home page set to Google but for some reason it doesn't start on that page. It really is just a minor annoyance but it did not do this before. My safari is version 3.2.1 which is the latest (except for 4 obviously).

I'm having a problem with Google on safari Version 5.1.5 when I open a new tab with Google as the home page I can type what I am looking for, hit enter or the search button on Google and it dose nothing. The only way I can search for something is either using the small search bar in the top right of safari, or type what I want in to Google then click on Google images then click back to the search then it will finally search for it. It has just become a bit annoying and only started doing it the other day.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am running a MacPro 2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 8 GB RAM and OS 10.6.6 that is connected to an AirPort Extreme connected to a Westell DSL modem. Lately I have been experiencing strange behavior that I can not solve. When I first start up, Safari and Mail generally launch and work properly. But after a while, from 10 minutes to an hour, I get strange behavior. In Safari, pages take a long time to load- with a spinning beach ball for several minutes. Or they don't load at all. In Mail, I can't get new mail- a get a message that I'm not connected to the internet. When I go to System Preferences and check the Network, it says I am connected.
Rebooting usually solves the problem, but I am forced to reboot once an hour or so. Also, other programs show strange behavior- either failing to launch or crashing. This happens frequently with Photoshop Elements 9 and occasionally with Pages. I am also running a PowerPC Dual 2.3 GHz using OS 10.5.8 off the AirPort Extreme that runs fine and experiences none of these problems. Both machines are connected by ethernet cables to the AirPort Extreme.
I've returned from work and Safari wont load (kids may have done something, they say not).
Home page wont load just a white blank page then the error message the application Safari quite unexpectedly Mac OS X and other apps are not affected.
It doesn't matter if I relaunch, report or close / restart it happens again. I don't have Firefox any more so I cant try that.

When I go through the Apple Store ordering process, the body of the 'configure' page won't load. I get the header and footer, but no actual way to add more ram, bigger HD, applecare, etc, and proceed to place an order. Just a big empty space.Â
This is only happening on my Mac Pro in safari. It works fine on firefox, and on safari in my MBP. I've tried the usual basics, restart, repair permissions, reset safari, download and reinstall.... but I still can't get the page to show properly.Â
