I tried watching them on my sister's Macbook but it didn't work - Quicktime replaced the WMP box and said that there was an unknown source or something.

Oct 9, 2010I've recently started using Hulu (I know, late to the party...), and discovered that it does not run smoothly on my single G5. It's running 10.5 on a 1.6GHz G5 with 3GB of RAM, the stock hard drive, and Radeon 9600 graphics. The video lags horribly. The issue is not my internet connection; it works fine on my Thinkpad. Am I out of luck, or is there something I should try to patch things up? Using Firefox 3.6, for what it's worth.

Jan 20, 2010Is it possible to watch a show on hulu on a mac all the way through without the system pinwheeling repeatedly? I just tried to watch the most recent episode of House M.D. on my mpb 13" 2.53 w/ 4 gb ram and could only get about halfway through the show before running into trouble. I've had the same problem watching Quantum Leap. I would like to connect this computer to my television but am afraid it's not worth the money for the cable if this pro mac can't do streaming video. Am I doing something wrong or is it the computer? My $300 acer has no issue..

OS X :: YouTube - Hulu - Freezing Every Time On All Browsers?
Aug 14, 2009This just started happening randomly as of an hour ago or so. I can't even open the YouTube webpage fully, open Hulu Desktop or watch a video on Hulu without my browsers instantly freezing and forcing me to Force Quit and restart them. Any idea on why this is happening? Obviously I can visit other websites fine.

Jun 5, 2012While watching video on hulu last night, my macbook pro running latest OS, froze. Tried to force quit, but no response, so I shut it down via the power button. On first reboot attempt, I got a folder icon with a question mark flashing where the apple usually is, on second attempt, just white screen, on third attempt, white screen until I hot the spacebar, then it booted up very slowly and now running extremely slow, as in it would take about 5 minutes to open an app.

MacBook Air :: Computer Choppy On Watching Hulu Videos?
Jun 26, 2009I purchased a refurbished, original MBA 1.8 GHz and it is great.The only issue is that when I watch videos on hulu, youtube, etc, the computer struggles and gets choppy. This happens most but not all of the time. I think this also occurs more often when I have my external monitor hooked up as well.
I want to make sure that there isn't something wrong with the machine. It was purchased as a secondary computer and understand that it is not supposed to be a workhorse - but I would still like to watch videos uninterrupted.
OS X :: Popping Sound In Safari 5 When Using Youtube, Hulu And Rhapsody
Jul 13, 2010I have a Quad Core Mac Pro which is running Snow Leopard 10.6.4. I have 8 gigs of memory. I am using Safari 5 and the latest version of Flash Player.
This issue doesn't happen all the time but once it occurs it will keep happening until I quit Safari and then reopen it. After that it will begin happening again after a certain period of time.
It seems to occur when I have Safari open for extended periods of time and the memory pageouts increase. When I play music through the Rhapsody player, youtube or hulu and visit various sites at the same time, there's a popping or stuttering in the audio for a second or two.
The popping noise will occur when browsing a site while playing audio in Safari either through Youtube, Hulu or Rhapsody. The noise will occur when I click on a link to go to a website.
the Popping will occur when I quit Safari as well, it's sort of like a sound that shouldn't be there. It sounds almost like static electricity when you touch it.
The only thing that stops the popping is by Quitting Safari and reopening it. After that I won't hear the noise while browsing sites for a period of time. It will come back eventually though.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Flash player, repaired permissions in disk utility, rebuilt my drive with Disk Warrior, reinstalled Safari, and installed the 10.6.4 Combo update but the issue remains.
MacBook Pro :: Try To Play HD Content It Only Streams In SD?
Oct 19, 2010Well i finally decided to go ahead and subscribe to Netflix for the streaming service because I was thinking about getting Apple TV tomorrow. So ive been trying it out on the website. Im having one issue. When i go to all the HD content and try to play it, itll only stream in SD and not in HD. I have the check mark checked to allow it to stream in HD. But it still says not playing in HD. My internet connection is fine. I did a speedtest just to confirm my internet was doing ok and i got 14.14MBPS down and 1.48MBPS up, and this is on AT&T Uverse. anyone have any ideas. I def dont want to get apple tv if i cant stream HD. Ive tried Safari and Firefox. No difference.

May 5, 2010I need to setup SoundFlower properly so that I can do live streaming of audio. I have 3 (I think) audio sources:
1) My USB headset's mic
2) The people from Skype
3) My computer's audio
I can stick all those into SoundFlower, but, when doing a live stream, they can hear everything BUT me. This is because my voice isn't actually being outputted through SoundFlower. My workaround is to use Audacity to record my USB headset's mic, and playback what I'm saying while it's recording. This works, but I'll then be hearing myself talking, and there will be a delay, which is VERY annoying.

ICloud On Mac :: Photo Streams Don't Appear In IPhoto On MacBook
Jun 29, 2014I am having an issue with iPhoto on my MacBook. I used to have lots of photo streams as well as the standard auto upload photo stream, but recently I accidentally turned off photos for iCloud in system preferences. I immediately turned it back on but it was too late, the photo streams where gone! All that appeared when I turned it back on was the standard auto upload photo stream. The other photo streams did not load back in to iPhoto. Besides losing lots of photos (This might not be an issue as I just put them on to another computer) the main annoyance is that the photo streams I created and the ones I had subscribed to had disappeared from iPhoto. The weird thing is that these photo streams still appear on my iPhone!! Is there anything I can do to get the other photo streams back on to iPhoto?

Sep 17, 2008I have a Power Mac G5 2.3Ghz dual-core system (M9591LL/A) with 2.5GBs of RAM and an Nvidia 6600 PCIe graphics card with 256MBs of RAM.
I tried playing a full-screen HD episode of "The Office" on Hulu.com and it was extremely choppy (like 0.5fps). The sound was fine. It's still quite choppy (~2fps) in a normal browser window (not full-screen)
Is this normal? Does this video card not support it? What is the most powerful card that can be installed in this machine? I'm not opposed to buying a PC card and flashing the ROM if need-be.
PowerPC :: Booting From External FW Drive Can't Play Hulu-Old Chip Or FW Bottleneck?
Mar 9, 2009I just set up an old G4 Mac Mini with a 1.5 GHz PPC chip and 64 MB VRAM as an HTPC with the intent to use it to watch Hulu and ABC.com and other sites where you can stream TV shows online. However, Hulu is very very choppy. The audio's fine but the video is pretty disappointing. In full screen it's really just a series of still pictures. I know Flash on the mini is supposed to not be that great, but is there anything I can do?
Is there any way to change the video settings of the g4 or of the TV to improve the streaming video playback? I'm playing it on a 40" Samsung LCD connected via DVI--> HDMI.
I'm booting off an external firewire drive through Firewire 400 and my concern is that perhaps this is the problem - the slowdown is not coming from the processor or the VRAM but rather from the Firewire. Can anyone with a similar setup let me know if this works for them. Is there anyway to speed up the I/O between the G4 and the Firewire drive? it's a LaCie 250GB D2 Hard Drive Extreme with Triple Interface.
According to the Activity Monitor, Safari's using 72% of the CPU to play from Hulu. According to Hulu's support page, the Mac Mini meets the system requirements. I'm just trying to watch the SD videos, not the HD. I have Flash 10 and Safari 3.1.2.

Nov 2, 2008Netflix has expanded the online component of its movie rental service to include any Intel Mac user who volunteers to join in a new public beta.
The test version of Watch Instantly is open to any Mac user with both a qualifying Netflix subscription and a system capable of playing videos in Microsoft's Silverlight web plugin.
Previously limited just to a controlled rollout, the expanded beta is considered the second phase of testing and comes along with a new wave of movies and TVs added to the service for all viewers.
The company cautions that there may be bugs and that the Silverlight version's catalog isn't a one-for-one duplicate of what's available in the regular version of Watch Instantly, which normally requires Internet Explorer on a Windows PC or else a set-top box with Netflix support built-in.
The expansion is made possible by Silverlight's inherent support for copy protection regardless of either the operating system or the browser and thus prevents casual rips of the video feed using third-party tools.
Mac users have typically been excluded from such services in the past but have gained increasing access in recent months to commercial video services that once required Windows alone, such as Amazon's Video on Demand. Hulu and other free services have often escaped these limits due to their uses of advertising, which lets the Fox/NBC joint project offer video for free.

Like a doofus, I didn't put that stream in a playlist and now I'm left to stare at 395 total streams in that category without a clue as to which one it was. Is there any way to look and see what I was listening to the other day to find the specific stream?

Is there a way to do this? It would be nice to have them on the idevices as well but there i just use a radio app.
