OS X Mountain Lion :: How To Change Language-specific Font Fallback Preferences
Aug 27, 2014
My MacBook's default fonts for viewing content in the Malayalam script/language seem to be Malayalam MN and Malayalam Sangam MN -- not surprisingly, since those are the default Malayalam fonts that come with the OS. However, both of those fonts are missing a lot of conjuncts/ligatures. There are some free fonts that do have the missing characters, so I'd like to put them at the top of whatever preference list the OS is using to decide which fonts to choose.
When I right click and choose 'add contact to address book' from within Apple mail, it adds the contact to the 'On My Mac' address book file. I want it to add the contact to a different address book. Is there a way to designate a specific default address book?
I highlighted the "font" and the "document color" in my Notes app on my Mac, just playing around and looking at the options I have. However, now I cannot figure out how to get the document color (Example 1 in turquoise blue) to go back to no color as is in Example 2. Or to unhighlight.Â

I am trying to use Business Objects through the web and unfortunately Java 7 is not compatible. I was able to downgrade to Java 6u65 (Java 1.6.0_65)Â but I really need update 45 to get Business Objects to work. Terminal code and/or a download that will allow me to pull out Java version 6u45? (Java 1.6.0_45)?Â
I've been on here trying several other's codes and it says permission denied or "unable to find any JVM versions matching 1.6.0_45"Â
Could that mean I don't have version 6u45 available to me period?

I was configuring mail server on lion server, how to change the quote mail for a specific user?. In snow leopard server I was able to change it using workgroup manager, but in lion server this option has been removed.
I have added a language under the first tab, Language, only to find that there is no correspondingly supported input option under the fourth tab, Input Sources.
I would now like to remove the entry I added under the first tab, Langauge, but cannot figure out how to do this. I have tried highlighting and pressing delete, dragging it out of the window, etc., but so far nothing works.

I was wondering if there are ways to split the preferences of Language and Text on Macs. I'm operating on Snow Leopard and I was hoping to have situations where I can isolate certain applications to certain languages.
I.e. - Open web browser in (region + language settings = Japan/Japanese) while at the same time I could also be working on my word processor in Italiano (region + language settings = Italy/Italian).
Is there any application for this? Mainly in helping to split language preferences for alternate applications or maybe even alternate windows in one application.

I have recently begun to use a fios router for my home network. When originally set up by fios they set the security to wep, and I set my network prefences as such. Since then I have changed the router to wpa security My network prefences still shows that wep encryption is being used. It still connects to the net but I can't figure out how to change it to reflect wpa security. Or since I am connecting to the net , is it necessary.
