Jun 27, 2012I've setup my Gmail IMAP account in Mail 5.3. I've configured my gmail account to only show in imap the inbox, sent mail, junk and drafts to get rid of the pesky "All Mail" box. Sending emails from Mail works fine (and they've been copied into my gmail sent box as well), but Mail stopped downloading new messages in the inbox after the initial setup. I don't have any filters on.Â

Jul 31, 2005I've used Google's instructions to set up my Gmail accounts on Mac Mail using IMAP. The only issue I'm finding is when I have messages in my inbox, all I see are the emails that were sent to me. To see the messages I've send, I can only do this by clicking on sent mail.
Is there anyway to see my messages in their threads just by clicking on the inbox, just how it works when using Gmail via their web site? I can get the view I want when I click "All Mail" but then I have hundreds of emails rather than what's in my inbox. I've searched everywhere but have yet to find a solution.

Apr 18, 2012In old style view. Every time I touch a message, it turns to read even if I haven't double clicked to "open it". I presume this is because it is previewing but I don't want it to do this. Also, every time I click on "inbox" to look at my messages, the top message in the list automatically changes to read. Again, I haven't opened the email and in this case I haven't even touched it! Can I TURN OFF PREVIEW? I've been looking around but can't seem to do this.

May 31, 2012I've been pretty slack since moving over to my mac book pro but now I find my inbox with roughly 500 emails in it and 80% would be junk from various sites I'm signed up for. I now have flagged all of these address that are spaming me as junk however the only email that moves to the junk folder are the ones I'm individually tagging as junk, the older emails, from the same address remain behind. Is there a way to delete my entire inbox of these junk mails without going through each mail individually?

Aug 29, 2014I have a number of signed mail messages in my inbox. However, there is absolutely no indication about this signature visible. According to this KB there should be an icon, plus the possibility to view the certificate: [URL] ....
Other mail applications show the icon, so I am 100% sure that the messages are signed.Â
Is there a setting that I don't know about?

Sep 7, 2014My mac mail will not download mails newer than 30 days to my inbox.Â
Mails older than 30 days are downloading fine from my godaddy IMAP account.
I tried on another mac with the same result! Using another mail client than Apple mail or iOS mail on my phone works fine so the issue seems to be related to the Apple mail client (and/or iCloud?!).Â
Sent mails are synced OK so it is only an inbox related issue.Â
Rebuilding the mail database does not work. Â What to do next ?!

Apr 15, 2010recently I have been trying to delete files and I'm getting a variation of messages. Either it tells me that the "file is in use" when its NOT or it will delete the file immediately, bypassing the trash.
I would like the files to go to the trash first like they always use to rather than being deleted immediately.
Also it tells me i can't delete alot of files because they are in use. However, they are not in use or open at all...
How can I correct this? Is this a disk problem?
