Jan 27, 2010so the only 2 things I liked about the iPad are the mail and calendar apps... In my opinion these 2 apps look way better on the tablet then they do in Leopard/Snow Leopard. Do you guys think these will be included in the next OSX update (at least the interface), or are these iPad exclusives to give it that extra oomph.
Other than that i wasn't impressed at all with the iPad it was exactly what I expected it to be based on rumors and my own speculation. An oversized ipod touch designed to push paid content on the user.

Apr 7, 2012Finally updated to LION and I'm trying to incorporate iCloud and it's services. At the moment, I'm attempting to use iCal across the board. I have found it incredibly easy to subscribe to a family members iCloud calendar on my iPhone but incredibly difficult to do the same from my Macbook Pro. The family member uses an iPad and syncs this calendar to iCloud. How do I access this calendar from my Macbook?Â
This is just a little rant but it really feels like Google makes stuff like this easier to do on my Apple products that Apple does..

I now have no calendar on my ipad and only one child's calender (out of three childrens +2 other calendars) shows up on my macbook and entries are changed to wrong days. Jul 22, 2010Apple has launched its new beta V2 update of the MobileMe web-based Calendar, sending users announcements that allows them to opt into the new program, which brings shared calendaring and an iPad-like appearance.
Opting into the new beta upgrades the calendar data in a way that makes any changes connected to the new format. Users who choose to leave the beta will lose updated changes, as Apple warns in the signup process.
The new Calendar requires users to upgrade to the latest iOS 4 for iPhone and iPod touch, the latest Mac OS X 10.6.4 or the most recent MobileMe Control Panel 1.6.1 for Windows, and demands a modern web browser, minimally Safari 4, Firefox 3.6, or Internet Explore 8.
Apple also notes that the new calendar beta does not support Microsoft Outlook behind a proxy server, and does not support push updates for Windows and iPad users. The iPad will fetch new data when its Calendar is opened, while Outlook running on Windows will fetch new event data every five minutes. Other iOS devices and Mac will continue to receive push updates normally.
Users with lots of calendar data may be warned that their older data will be incrementally upgraded over the next hour.
The new MobileMe Calendar features an iPad-like slider control at the bottom for rapidly navigating to future and previous months, and a calendar and notes view that appear to be tear off pads of paper. Also like the iPad Calendar, it presents a Day summary and List view of upcoming events.
MobileMe users can opt in to the new beta by logging in and requesting an invite. The new Calendar update is the latest in an overhaul series that began with Mail. The new updates use the latest SproutCore frameworks to create a very desktop-like experience.

Mar 17, 2008I am about to acquire a dual 1ghz MDD powermac g4 and was thinking of turning it into my main work computer. I do graphic design and own licenses to both cs2 and cs3. I also have retail versions of tiger and leopard. My question is what combination would be reasonable with this machine and if its reasonable using hardware this old for print design. I am not pro or a demanding user, but I do a fair amount illustrator, photoshop, and indesign work.
File sizes almost always well under 100mb. Right now I am using a Macbook Pro and I am aware that its much faster than this Power Mac, but I really would appreciate something I can have multiple hds in. It has 1gb of ram, and a radeon 9600 video card. Its also the non firewire 800 version. (2002)

I was able to create another admin account to at least start the iMac.  I had upgraded to Yosemite but I restored back to 10.9 - still no luck. I found a thread to attempt to repair the sparse file - running legacy file vault (which sounds like a mistake). double clicking the sparse file does not open disk utility.Â
