Jun 22, 2014I have tried to download Adobe flash player it just hangs, tried this with Safari and Firefox. I have removed the old software.

Software :: Flash Player Causes Firefox To Crash?
Dec 20, 2010I seem to have had this problem before several month ago. Well I updated to a new version of Firefox (3.6.13) and I have Flash 10.1 installed (MacOS 10.6.5). Every time I open any web site with Flash content, Firefox crashes. This happens with Yahoo Mail, CNN, New York Times, etc. So I disabled Flash temporarily, and my Yahoo Mail no longer crashed. Of course I can't watch any online videos now.
I tried uninstalling Flash 10.1 and re-installing it. No go. I tried the beta 10.2. still crashed. Finally I found a version of Flash 9 for Mac on Adobe's web site, and that does indeed work. Of course it's an older version, but at least I can use Firefox. The bad news is that the plugin is used by Safari also.

Jun 22, 2014I took my Macbook Pro into the store and they had to delete everything and then reinstall the OS and all my data. I have not had any problems redownloading various applications, but no matter what I do, I cannot install Flashplayer. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, opening the installer directly from the package, etc. There is no version of flash currently on my computer, but still, I cannot download and install it (even an older version).

I have tried the following
- install newest version of flash player
-Empty chache: library> cache> adobe> flashplayer
- Open Safari with 32bit
- Reset safari
- internet plug-ins are allowed (safari> preferences> allow plug ins
- Java skript in safari preferences is enabled
- cookies are removed
- the flash player does not work for the guest user neither
- Safari Extensions are off
- My installed plug-ins are: Quick time player / Shockwave Flash / Silverlight Plug-In /

Aug 26, 2014I have an iMac and a Mac Book Pro. On the iMac, Flash Player works fine on Youtube, etc. EXCEPT within Facebook. When I click on a video within Facebook it appears to load the viewing pane but the video never starts. No error messages. I have reinstalled Maverick OS/X, done a clean uninstall/reinstall of Adobe Flash Player, checked all settings, still have the problem. It works fine on the Mac Book Pro, both computers are using the same version of MAC OS/X and Flash Player with the same settings. Obviously there is something different on the iMac but I'm unable to

Jun 28, 2014I have Flash Player set to update automatically.
For the last month or so I've been getting pop up messages on my system that I have to update Flash Payer.
I click the link, download the installation dmg, double click the installer, 4/5ths of the way through it says it can't complete the operation. (I close all browsers etc. )
Google Chrome is running the latest version of Flash as it does it automatically (v14), but Safari and presumably anything else that uses Flash is running v13.

OS X :: Safari / Firefox Beachball With Flash In SL
Aug 31, 2009Like the title says since Snow Leopard when I go to websites with a flash video player built in it beachballs my internet browser endlessly until I force quit. It is very frustrating. I have reinstalled flash player many times. Youtube works fine, but Hulu is impossible to watch. This makes a good portion of websites I visit not even functional.

What puzzles me is that when I opened this new Safari, it contained all my favorites and Bookmark bar bookmarks. Is there a ghost in the system or did AppZapper miss something?

Jan 9, 2009I have had a lot of issues with Adobe Flash Player causing grief in Safari, and now it is causing it to crash. I am on a clean installation of OS X (just formatted and reinstalled yesterday).
I should point out that I use Adobe CS4 and have Flash CS4 installed. Maybe that is causing a conflict?

Dec 26, 2009Good morning, I recently updated my software via Software Update yesterday, and I noticed that I can no longer play Flash videos in Safari. I just get the generic lego block and it says that Flash unexpectedly quit. I'm running the most recent Safai and Snow Leopard, and have included a screenshot of the updates that I ran yesterday. I also tried to run Camino and FireFox, but they just quit when I get to a Flash video. I also tried to install the most recent Flash player, and also the newer beta Flash player, but none seem to work. Anybody know of any fixes? Do I have to reinstall Snow Leopard?

Feb 12, 2010Ever since YouTube has updated their video page, I keep on getting these "Old Flash - Go Upgrade!" error messages. I have re-installed Flash twice and I'm still getting the problem... however, just refreshing the page seems to work - but is getting very annoying.

Jun 12, 2010since i have updated to flash 10.1 my mid-2010-mbp i7, in safari (version 5) scrolling is very laggy, when on a page with flash contents. especially when on intel gpu (i use gfxcardstatus). on nvidia its a bit better, but it still sucks.
furthermore, if i do a right-click on any flash content and go to settings, it totally freaks out and switches gpu every second, and the only thing i can do is force quit safari. this doesnt happen, when i'm initially on nvidia-gpu.
Safari :: Why Does Flash Player Use So Much Memory In Lion
Feb 13, 2012I have an issue I have been seeing since upgrading to Lion (10.7.3) and the latest version of Safari (5.1.3, I believe?). When browsing the web for a while (particularly, Flash heavy sites, I have noticed my computer's temperature getting hot and more beach balling starting to occur. The first time this happened, I opened Activity Monitor and noticed that Flash Player was using, almost, 900 MB of RAM (and I had less than 100 MB available). Other than Safari, I only had a couple of other applications open, neither of which were memory intensive. Quitting Safari gave me back a huge amount of memory, my temperatures, quickly, dropped back down to reasonable levels, and the performance lag went away. I never saw this kind of memory hogging under Snow Leopard. Is Flash Player this much of a nuisance under, either, Firefox or Chrome?
I have a 2010 MacBook Pro, 2.53 GHz, i5 with 4 GB of RAM.

Mar 28, 2012Adobe Flash installer completes successfully, but web sites requiring Flash still say that I need to install Flash. None of the relevant files are present, and the Adobe diagnostic page shows only empty boxes where the Flash version should be listed. This problem occurs with Safari 5.1.4 and 5.1.5 running on Mac OS 10.6.8?

May 6, 2012I am running Safari 5.1.5 on Lion 10.7.3. For about a year now, I have been having trouble running Adobe Flash Player to view videos. I can verify that I have Flash Player 11.2.202.235 installed, but on some (not all) website, most notably [URL] I just get a button to "Get Adobe Flash Player" even though I already have it. Flash-based ads work fine, it's really just for videos. I end up having to watch the non-working videos on Chrome where they work fine.

I can use “flash player” in “chrome” but not in “safari” I've gone to the “adobe” site where it said if “adobe” is installed on your computer "x" will be displayed in this box or if it's not installed "x" will be displayed, in both instances the box was blank. I'm extremely frustrated, I'd like to “safari” but would also like to use “adobe flash player”.

Sep 15, 2009I upgraded to Flash Player 10 a few days ago, and since then both Safari and Firefox are crashing almost every time i visit a page with Flash. I have tried uninstalling flash and reinstalling a developer's copy of version 9 but the crashes continue.
I have read a lot of complaints about similar problems, but have not been able to find a solution or even an explanation as to why it's happening. So I don't know if it's a conflict with the latest version of Leopard (not Snow) or what.
