OS X Mavericks :: FaceTime Is Not Working On Mac Air Version 10.9.4?
Sep 8, 2014
FaceTime is not working on Mac Air version 10.9.4. Was working fine before. When logging in with Apple ID it will not Verify. Seems like it is corrupt. I can't reinstall app because when I throw it in the trash I get a message "FaceTime can't be modified or deleted because its required by OS X".
I am getting the message "Your Apple ID "xxxx" can't be used to set up iMessage at this time. It was working fine and all of sudden it became inactive . It is working on my Ipad.
My messages and FaceTime calls will not work on my macbook air. I am using OS X Mavericks 10.9.4. why these will not go to my computer anymore? They used to work just fine and appear in my notifications on both my macbook and iPhone and now only go to my iPhone.
I tried to install FaceTime on my MacBook Pro, but got the message that my operating system was too new! (Can you believe there's a typo in the pop-up alert? How could Apple spell Macintosh wrong?) In another thread someone was able to solve this problem by doing a Spotlight search for FaceTime. Well, I know I don't have it because I deleted it. I can't get it back and I can't download it.
Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3), 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - 17"
My facetime was working fine until recently it asked for a login and this time when I did login with my Apple id, it prompted for email verification. However it is not able to complete the verification and keeps giving the following error message : Could not verify the email address. Please check your network connection and try again.
I have checked the support forums and they all point towards preferences. Problem is that the preferences option for face time is grayed out and I am not able to use them.

I had installed the FaceTime app in my MBP (OS X 10.6.8) sometime back. But the mic isn't working with the FaceTime app. i am able to see and hear what others speak but the person on the other end is not able to hear me.
i have just bought a IMac 21.5 but my FaceTime is not working. i have a IPad 2 and IPhone 4 and they both work fine? ( it says that my network connection is not working properly but it is??:/
Like the title says, my iMessage and FaceTime is not working. I can't log in to either one of them on my MacBook Pro (OS X Mavericks 10.9.4).
I keep getting the message that it can't get configured at the moment but iMessage and FaceTime is activated on both my iPhone 5S and my iPad 2 and works like a charm there. So is should not be anything wrong with the account, is seems to be something blocking the log in on my admin user though. If i choose the "Guest Log in" everything works, here I can activate my iMessage account.
I read somewhere that it could be some program blocking iMessage / effecting iMessage / (The thread said FlashPlayer) so I have deleted all the local savings from Safari, settings and saved choices related to FlashPlayer.
I have a early 2011 macbook pro running os x lion 10.7.3 and my camera will not work when i open facetime it says ' there is no connected camera' i have searched all over the forums and internet to find a solution but none of them have worked. i know its not a hardware issue as the camera works if i switch to a different user and also works if someone calls my facetime the camera will load up. problem is the same with photobooth etc.
When I open facetime, the camera doesnt come on. It just opens with a black screen and the camera logo with a slash through it. I cant open the preferences to fix anything in it
Both iCloud and FaceTime are continually prompting for passwords. Hitting 'cancel' usually dismisses the iCloud box, but the FaceTime box just keeps reappearing.
I don't want to enter either password until I'm ready to, and I especially could care less about FaceTime because I don't use it on this computer. It can go away completely. So how can I shut it off and tell it to stop bothering me?
I have a problem with the new beta of FaceTime for Mac. Right now, all I can do with it is display a window of my webcam. I can't click on Preferences in the menu bar and I also notice that "Sign Out" is grayed out. I haven't entered an Apple ID because I wasn't prompted for one. I have recently checked Apple Software Update and I have all updates installed. I also have OS X 10.6.4 installed.
Just installed Lion on my iMac and FaceTime isn't working. It says 'Failed Connection' when I dial one of my contacts, but wifi is on an everything else is working.
After chatting on FaceTime on my MacBook pro for approximately 5-7 minutes, the other person cannot hear me. I went to Apple and they said it may be the actually mic/camera connection and would have to replace it. I can't lose a week without my MacBook!
Whenever I try and facetime or record something the microphone isn't picking up anything but I have a look on system preferences and sound and the microphone is working perfectly but not when I try to do something else!
Suddenly my FaceTime and iMessage stopped working on my MBP. when i try to log into iMessage from the mac, it asks me to call customer support with a code number.
I just got my Macbook Air back from apple repair. I went to go facetime one of my friends and it told me to log into my Apple ID. I logged in with my info and chose my contact info (the number and email I use) and clicked next. As I waited for it to load, it did but went back to the screen where it has me log into facetime.
Also the same thing with iMessage where it will not activate my account. I have had no problems with iMessage and Facetime before on my Macbook till now.
A user upgraded their MacBook Air, 10.9.3, and now iTunes is crashing when we check for updates and FaceTime is crashing. I'm not sure what else is crashing at this time.

I have an issue with Face time the soft didn't work so I decided to upgrade my OS from snow leopard to maverick. So I tried to log in on face time..First time I filled my identified Apple and my password ok,...It began to check my email never ending..I shut down my mac and re-tried then after filling my email and my password, I touch "next", "check" and face time goes back to apple Id...
Info: MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), recently upgrade from snow leopard
how to get Facetime working again in Lion 10.7.40. I installed some AJA LHi video card drivers and now my webcam/Facetime/Skype won't load. The programs either crashes during load or, in the case of Skype, when I try to select the webcam in Preferences. I have uninstalled the AJA drivers but it doesn't change anything. I can create another user on the same system and Facetime works fine. I've tried contact AJA support but have heard nothing back in the last 48 hours. One thing of interest is that PhotoBooth works fine with the Logitech webcam.
find my MacBook Pro retina has crashed during the night... I know have iCould and Facebook login windows popping up alternatively but I am unable to cancel them. Since I use neither services , I do not wish to enter the passwords yet I can not get rid of the windows... As far as I know its a virus/trojan I'm not familiar enough with mac os x to find out what might be causing this or how to stop these windows from popping up without entering the information
Info: MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)
When I go to omega or whatever I can't it wont detect another camera from FaceTime Hd the camera and I've used several programs and its all the same...
My sister just bought a refurbished 13" MacBook Pro?The built-in camera is "flickering," but it appears to only be happening in applications made by Apple, or at least ones preinstalled on the computer. The applications affected that I have tested are: iMovie, FaceTime, Photo Booth, and iChat. It's not really a "flicker," per se, but large horizontal chunks of the video will displace and often show up as green -- it all moves very rapidly -- very hard to explain, but it is definitely not normal behavior.
iChat takes the issue a step further: the camera preview in iChat Preferences shows nothing but a blank screen. The camera works flawlessly in Skype, and also in web browers thorugh Adobe Flash. So, I am very certain this is not a hardware issue. It also worked perfectly during the setup walkthrough when the computer was first turned on and it had her take a photo for her user account. I've tried resetting application preferences by deleting the preference files, resetting PRAM and SMC, shutting down/restarting the computer, and I've applied all possible Software Updates. System Information (formerly System Profiler) shows the camera under USB, so the computer is recognizing it. Finally, we called Apple and they said to reinstall OS X, which my sister just did. The problem's still there. It wasn't a "clean" install though, because all of her files and preferences were kept in-tact, so maybe that is why.
