PowerPC :: Ibook G4 Can't Connect To Airport Anymore - Password Refused
Aug 16, 2010my Ibook sees the network, but refuses the password, same for my husbands iphone, although my iphone still connects.tried relaunching the airport twice, no change.
tried changing airport settings, no change even triend to make it open network, no possibility to connectit seems that my ibook doesn't save the changes...
and even when putting everything back as it was, it still refuses my password to connect to the airport.
IMac Intel :: Unable To Turn On System / Shut Itself Down And Refused To Power Back Up
Jun 19, 2008I have a 20" intel-based dual core Mac which i have had for about since early 2006, i haven't had any big issues with it until a few days ago when it suddenly shut itself down and refused to power back up. I ran through the checklist that Apple Support provides, including resetting the SMC by unplugging everything and waiting 15 seconds or so but none of it worked. Eventually I just left the power cord unplugged overnight and in the morning I plugged it back in.
After having the power cord plugged in for a few hours and the machine turned off, i tried pressing the power button again and to my amazement it powered back on! Immediately i ran the TechTool Deluxe software that came with my extended protection plan (now expired) and everything was fine. Later that night however, I had left my computer on for a few hours before returning to it and realizing it had shut itself off again. Now I am back to where I started, going through the checklist provided by Apple and am really starting to get concerned. Does anyone know of anything else I can do, short of taking it in to an Apple store? Or is something needed to be replaced?

Sep 8, 2010I have an AEBS that runs 2 network, one for our laptops (all Mac) and one for our iPhones.Recently (maybe after upgrading the FW) I can?t connect any iPhone 2G, 3G or 4 to our Wifi.They see the network (sometimes), but are asked for password. I get the message wrong password or unable to connect to network.
The password is correct (they used to join automatically) so what is wrong?

May 7, 2012My macbook ran out of battery two days ago. When I restarted it had all my data and files, but the settings had been reset (i.e. my screen saver, dock, expose, etc had all been reset to the original settings). A day later, the macbook froze and I tried to restart it. It now goes to the login page with my user ID but does not accept my correct password. Instead, the rainbow pinwheel spins for a few minutes before the login window shakes and then clears my entered password, as if it does not accept the password. After a few repeated tries, it offered me my password hint. I know my password is the same one I've always used.

Nov 30, 2014My son is using my old macbook pro 13-inch and he went to login using the correct security info but keeps getting denied. and clicking the question mark only leads to the computer recommending the very same password that he is using with no other options to request a change password option. the computer may still be running mountain lion, though possibly mavericks. definitely not yosemite.

Upon going on the actual mail website and doing an online sign in I have realised that the password is infact correct. How can i resolve this. Additionally, its also happening on my iphone which is why I know its something I need to alter with my apple products.

OS X Mavericks :: Mail Being Sent Is Not Using Correct Email Account
Jun 26, 2014I am running OSX Mavericks and using Mac Mail. I have several email accounts set up including 2 different gmail accounts. My preferences are set up so that new messages are supposed to send from my primary gmail account. However, over the past couple of days, when I reply to a previous message or create a new message the message appears to be sending from my primary gmail account. That's the address that shows up in the box showing from which account the message is being created. The message uses the signature that is set up for my primary gmail account, and the message appears in the primary gmail account's Sent mail folder. However, when I look at the actual message that was sent (I tested this by sending it to another non-gmail account of mine), the From email address showing up is my secondary gmail account. So, replies are coming back to that secondary account, not the account from which I sent it.
I do not have this problem when sending messages from my iPhone or iPad, so I'm pretty sure it's strictly a Mac Mail problem.
I've checked the Preferences to ensure that my Composing settings have it set up to send from my primary gmail account, and it is set up that way. When composing the message, everything indicates that it will be sent from the primary gmail account, but instead it goes out as if coming from my secondary gmail account.
This is definitely a new problem. I've not updated anything on the Mac OS recently. The only updates that have been applied recently are a Flash Player update and an MS Office update. This problem started before either of those were applied, I believe. I know for sure it happened before the Office update.

Sep 5, 2014My MBP crashed, and I had to restore by dragging and dropping from an external hard drive. I fear I may have put the "library" for my user account in the incorrect place. I am trying to create and modify MS Excel Templates and am learning to do so watching Lynda.com videos and the file path they illustrate has the library listed after selecting a user...on my MBP I have library and users in the same category so when I go to my "user name" there is no library in the next category. I hypothesize that is why Excel is not automatically creating a "my templates" file for the custom templates I am creating.

Jul 1, 2014For the last week or so I've been having an increasingly regular problem with Mail. Upon launching, the app opens a dialog window saying, "Mail can't connect to the Google account 'Gmail'. Enter the password for user (username)." Then when I enter the password, the app crashes. Sometimes clicking the "Cancel" botton allows the app to open, but sometimes that results in a crash as well. Also, when I can launch Mail successfully, sometimes when I try to send mail, the outgoing mail will sit in the Outbox unsent.
I've been getting these warnings with both my Yahoo and Gmail accounts. Until a few days ago I was using Yahoo as my primary account, but the inability to send mail caused me to switch to Gmail as my primary. After a couple days of smooth sailing, I'm now getting the same errors with my Gmail.
PowerPC :: IBook G4 Dead - Refused To Turn On
Jul 27, 2008My iBook G4 is refusing to turn on. Yesterday it started going really slow and pressing the power button wasn't bringing up the usual options, so I held the power button to switch it off. On turning it back on it got stuck on the screen with the Apple logo and spinner for a long time so again I powered it off with the holding of the button. I then let it cool down (it was really hot) but now when I switch it on the spinner spins around 6 times then it turns itself off. It is still chiming. I'm away from home and don't have any discs - anything I can try or is it time for the Genius bar?

Sep 10, 2010Everytime I open iChat, it will not let me log in and it says "The host refused the connection" So some people have suggested that I change the port number to 443. Which then I can log in but I can't video chat. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Jan 19, 2008I have my Gmail account set up for IMAP, and use it in Mail. However, as of this morning, Mail can't connect to either the IMAP server or the SMTP server. Whenever I try to connect to the IMAP server, it gives me the following error:
"The server '[URL]' refused to allow a connection on port 993."
I've checked repeatedly and all of my settings are as the Gmail website says they should be. Does anybody have any idea how to fix this?

So after a lot of mess I finally put in the install DVD and changed the password. Problem is that now every time I start up the computer I have to log in. Sep 26, 2009I finally decided to do all the back up and such to update the system. It was one of those if it ain't broken don't fix it type situations. I just installed Leopard to my old 14" Mac G4 laptop. Everything was going fine until the first screen dialog box asked for my password. I tried the usual suspects.. even my hint was "the usual one" and I cannot get the computer to accept it or anything else. I am in a loop and cannot get any further. The dialogue box gives you log in, restart and shut down. Is there a work around? How do I get out of this mess? I am in deep poop as I need to access my computer. What can I do... I'm logging on to someone else's computer until I can get back into mine.

May 23, 2010I have a G4 450 OS 10.4.11 and when I went to restart it it asked for a password. I have used this system for a few years and this has never happened? I used my regular password and it worked but now every time I restart it, it asks me the same thing. What is also weird is that It says Powermac G3 above the password box. My system is a G4. I believe the drive came out of a G3 computer at one time but not sure how that relates. This has never happened before. I went to system preferences security tab and it does not show login is enabled at all. I did not do anything that I know of to cause this? How can I remove this login requirement and what does it mean that it says G3 when it is a G4?
