i wanted to know if there was docks skins for tiger 10.4 which i am running on my mac,i have the old white skin that comes with tiger, ive noticed the new ones are more of low profile which i love,i am a real custom freak if you know what i mean,
I tried starting it up and everything goes normally. The loading bar that says "Mac OSX starting" works fine. The mouse pointer appears as normal. The dock will not appear. The menu bar at the top will not appear. No desktop icons will appear. My desktop's background image will not appear. There has to be another way to start a program other than graphically. I have homework due.
Is there a way to make the Snow-Leopared-Dock more look like the Tiger-Dock? I know this 2D-trick but I don't won't that black background. This is how my dock looks like at the moment: [URL]. I managed that with this tool: [URL]. But I want this milky-color Tiger style: [URL].
I'm running Tiger, and I was wondering does anyone have the app and the skin/theme to make the Dock look like it did in this picture? The picture is from Jobs' keynote of introducing OS X. I just think it would be fun to have it look that way (in tiles with borders).
I was in my local Apple Store awhile back and saw a girl in there with her laptop that had like a skin on top of it. It was almost like a sticker that she placed on top of it and it went around the infamous apple on top of the laptop. It was a simple design, one color which was red. It was like a swirl that went around the apple. She told me what they were called and where to find them but it was so long ago that I can't remember. I'm looking into upgrading from the iBook that I have now to a MacBook or MacBook Pro. The site she referred me to was for Mac laptops only, but I can't find anything and I'm going nuts. If I remember correctly, the pricing was about $24.95 and up or something like that.
And I DO apologize if something like this has been posted before, if it has, pointing me in the right direction would be awesome. Now hopefully I'm in the right forum to post this.
I was thinking about trying out one of the bestskinsever or the zagg products but, they need to have water on them. How would you keep the water out of the keyboard, you know, when you are applying the trackpad part.
Any other skins I might be missing? Any easier things to protect my new macbook pro? I would really one of these skins but water would drip in to the keyboard part (maybe), so I'm left with what?
When I get to "Make a copy of the iTunes.rsrc" I'm stuck. I don't get how and y I make a copy of it and how do I install the new skin? I did it somehow before but i don't remember how.
I'm using clear speck seethru (crystal clear hard case) on my mbp. Do you think colored skins as decalgirl will work okay with it? Glossy versions will cause "watermarks"?
I know there are lots of sites that sell those plastic skins people use to decorate their laptops, but has anyone see a black one to go around the new macbook air screen? I think this thing would look really sharp with a black bezel, and I don't want to risk painting it or anything myself. I've done a quick google search and not found anything, but I'm also not really familiar with the popular sites and companies people go to for this kind of thing. I know Techrestore has announced a service to replace your air's screen with a matte one and replace the bezel with a black one while they're at it...but right now I'm just looking for an inexpensive, reversible (in case I don't like it) option.
Is there a way to out-right remove the 'Leather' skins that Apple has used with iCal and Address book. We had a client jokingly ask us if we were working on kids computers the other day. Not impressed to say the least. We've read about the hacks floating around in the internet wilds but would prefer a Mac-enabled way of changing this. Why isn't this an option in the app preferences?
I've been trying to change my docks theme for the past few days but have been unable. I've used Candybar, Dock Library etc. and none of them seem to work. I'm really annoyed because it used to work for me. Any suggestions on how I can remedy this problem?
Today the OS X dock on my late '08 MacBook Pro 15" stop working like normal. It used to be, when an App was open, the icon would appear in the dock with a sort of highlight.
Now, the apps run fine but no longer appear in the dock. If I minimize it, it does show as a running app in the left hand side, but that isn't what I want it to do. Is there a quick way to get it to work again?
Very suddenly my dock has disappeared, (and occasionally reappears), and is now completely non-useable. Why..? I have created other accounts on my computer previously and the dock on those is fine...I have looked in Activity monitor and it flashes on and then disappears in there.I tried using terminal to 'killall Dock', but this did nothing...Am using Leopard on Alu iMac.
I recently installed Super Dock on my Mac and uninstalled it because i didn't like it, but it seems that the effects of the program still exist (custom animations and behaviors made by the program). How would I go about fixing that ? Can I reinstall the Dock ?
I have an iMac g4 800mhz, 768 mb of ram 40 gb internal HD and 250 gb external HD. I plan on upgrading to Tiger this wednesday. Also, my mac has been a bit quirky over the last year or so. The internal HD seems to almost spin constantly. It spins and spins....spins down, then right back up again. Weird. Once in a while the apps act strange as well. So, I plan on doing a clean install of Tiger. Everything is backed up on the external HD.
My question is, does anybody know how Tiger will run on my system? Will doing a clean install eliminate these "quirks"? And finally, will quicktime 7 finally run smooth with the upgrade? Right now, Quicktime isn't as smooth as it used to be with Quicktime 6.
So i finally got around to upgrading a couple of my powerbook g4's. Im upgrading a powerbook g4 from tiger to leopard. My question is how can i do a full reformat (not the archive install) and keep all the programs i have on it like ms office and adobe?
I don't recall ever installing iLife when I got my Macbook which was running Tiger. Now, I'm running SL and want my iMovie back. I have my original install disks for Tiger, is iLife06 on there? Can I install it from the Tiger disks onto my machine now?
I'm selling a Tiger disc and it says "Tiger with Xcode" on the disc. Is this a normal disc or what is it? I have other Tiger discs on CD and I don't think they have Xcode.
I copied the os 9 classic from my g3 desktop to my iBook. When I Open the application it get all the way to the end and then the program shuts down got an ideas to solve that problem.
