Trying to output via Displayport using my white macbook but for some reason Windows can't detect my monitor or the DVI output.. anyone able to successfully output from bootmcamp?
View 2 RepliesI can not get my external monitor to hook up with my new MacBook Pro. I know how to get the windows desktop over onto the external monitor, but windows just recognizes the monitor for a moment, and then nothing. This cycles until I turn off the external monitor. I have the new MacBook Pro, with MiniDisplay port, and the monitor is hooked up with a DVI, and it is a 22" Acer.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have got my new uMBP i7. It is gorgeous, super happy with it . Because I need to run several programs under Windows XP, I have installed Windows XP under Bootcamp. I used Winclone to migrate bootcamp partition from my old MBP to the i7.My problem is that when I linked my external monitor (20 inch ViewSonic) to uMBP using the Minidisplay-to-DIV adaptor from Apple, there is no display on my external monitor. I can set the external monitor as extension of main monitor under "Setting", but after the windows Ding/Done sound, there is nothing on my external monitor. Does anyone have experiences about fixing this problem?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI picked up a MBP 15" core i7 high res laptop on Friday. I actually ordered one of those mini displayport -> HDMI awhile back (was going to get a mini, decided no), however when I hook it up to my plasma it won't adjust the resolution to 1920 x 1080, I checked "display" in system settings but it won't let me push it past the native resolution of the laptop screen.
Any suggestions how to get around this? Also it mentions on the website it can push sound over HDMI now, I wasn't able to figure that out either.
Speakers work but cannot get any sound output. Running windows 7 on Intel iMac. Speakers sound on booting and graphics in Control panel and on toolbar indicate sound is being recieved but nothing comes out of speakers or headphones.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I am trying to open up my bootcamp partition (running windows 7) in VMWare and I get this error message: Cannot open the disk '/Users/brandonquirarte/Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines/Boot Camp/%2Fdev%2Fdisk0/Boot Camp partition.vmwarevm/Boot Camp partition.vmdk' or one of the snapshot disks it depends on. It was working just fine before the upgrade to Snow Leopard but I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. I had to reinstall Windows 7 after I tried installing the Bootcamp 3.0 drivers so that may be more of the issue. I didn't test to see if would work still when I upgraded to Snow Leopard.

Since the thread titles didn't seem to match right.First question, what kind of life does the macbook pro ( june 09 model)display have if I don't run the computer in clamshell mode. Just curious if I will burn it out quicker just running it like this.Now on to clamshell mode, is that the preferred mode to run? Or does the laptop get to hot. Once again just not sure on that one.Last question would be with regards to the graphics adapter. Typically unless I am playing a game I run with the 9400m. With the monitor connected, should I switch to the 9600m? I don't know if it would yield any different results.

I have a 21" Samsung Monitor that displays at 1680x1050 which is attached to my 27" 2011 iMac. The iMac only has the display option of 1600x1200 60hz. This is not the right one clearly and the reason i wonder why it is not there is that my MacBook Pro which is 2009 unibody does have this option and both are running the same 10.7.3 OS.

My work computer is a 15" MBP at 2.0 Ghz and I think a drop to 1.6 Ghz wouldn't be so bad if I could use a separate monitor and not see anymore of a performance drop.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOk so I've got a MBP bought back in november, with Mac OS X Leopard. My problem is, when running windows, Bootcamp 2.0, no mic will be recognised. Neither the built-in, nor any one you connect will work. Doesn't matter if it's usb or jack, it won't work (even though it's recognised).
I'm working with Realtek HD audio drivers, as I didn't even have sound after installing Bootcamp.
After booting to windows xp pro(sp2) via bootcamp the resolution setting slide bar on Nvidia control panel lets me adjust to a higher rez, but does not change the resolution physically at all. I do get the windows "keep this setting" pop up..I choose yes to humor it, but nothing changed in the first place.Other than this glitch, windows works fine. I can set the resolution to 1900 x 1200 for gaming inside the game's application but this huge 640 x 480 is hard to deal with on my 2.93GHz 17" unibody macbook pro display.

View 11 Replies View RelatedAfter loads of headwork I may have a perfect running Windows 7 on my MacBook Pro. I was running XP but decided for a change, installed 7 but had the issues with sound, keyboard, bluetooth etc etc tried a few things but no joy. So went to Vista instead, things worked fine but didn't partition enough space so another reinstall was needed, then came the brainwave if everything is running smoothly in Vista surely if I upgrade to 7 it should still work, ok I was a little wrong 90% of it did.
I even had sound, bluetooth issue was resolved just needed to uncheck 'allow computer to control sleep thing' just needed to sort out the keyboard backlight, eject and fn keys. So in my wisdom I reinstalled bootcamp 2.1 update, ignore the messages that come up it will install...reboot and voila all Working! I will be rigorously testing this over the next week so will post back any issues, hopefully there wont be any. By the way I am using the x86 version as my MBP doesn't support 64bit. So in short:
Partition > Vista (make sure fully updated) > Upgrade to Windows 7 > reinstall Boot Camp >
Thinking of buying an iMac in the next couple of months and want to know know if anyone has experience of running games on Windows 7 under Bootcamp? Do they run ok? I know it depends what sort of game you are playing so I usually play MMO's & FPS. I will be using OSX for all non gaming stuff but if the gaming under Windows 7 is not that good I may just buy a Macbook for my OSX stuff and buy a seperate PC just for gaming.

I don't want to get rid of the bootcamp install though since I do gaming through it. Now that I've installed Parallel it's asking if I want to use the bootcamp partition in the virtual machine? Do I? View 1 Replies View RelatedMy macbook is the new 2008 series with 2 gb of RAM, the Nvidia Geforce 9400m, and Intel processor with 2.4 ghz. I check on srtest.com and I am supposedly able to run games like Crysis very well. Yet, when I launch the new Warhammer: Dawn of War II game, I am at a loss. I can only run the gme on the very lowest settings at the lowest resolution in order to run without lag. Also, for some reason my bootcamp partition says I have only 1.72 gb of RAM. I have a feeling the partition is just not recognizing the power I have.

My Macbook runs Bioshock at medium settings, not the highest of frame rates but it's perfectly playable, but I'm not sure if it'll be able to handle L4D2. View 17 Replies View RelatedI just noticed that the sound of my 21.5" iMac speakers kinda changes notably when I'm using Windows (BootCamp). Compared to the sound while using Snow Leopard, it sound very thin, bass-less and... just strange. More like MacBook speakers, or just small speakers. Another thing is that the headphone input doesn't work on Windows. Could these issues be related to audio drivers? I don't know much about that sort of stuff.

In all of the programs, i right click, and the option bar briefly flashes, but then disappears, without letting me choose any of the options.
