View 3 RepliesIf 10A432 is installed, is there any need to reinstall a 10.6 retail copy, or for all intents and purposes am I fine and will 10.6.1 and future updates still work for me?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAt the very worst, I think this is the last non-GM build. But between now and the launch of Snow Leopard, how much can really be changed? Then again, a lot of people find it hard to believe Apple would seed the GM to tons of deveopers before the launch of Snow leopard, for fear that it would leak (and it has).
View 22 Replies View RelatedIt has never been answered explicitly, so just give me a yes or no, and ONLY if you have installed it from the retail box. Is 10A432 the GM-build, yes or no?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI haven't seen any post about that, but seems that the last Snow Leopard build, 10A432 comes with a new version of its Bootcamp drivers and it is now compatible with Windows 7. Have anyone tried that ?
PD: I found the drivers in a forum, I don't know if it is ok to post the link, but here it goes:(URL)
im fairly convinced that this release is GM, so i finally took the plunge and installed and all went well. The only issue is when I loaded the desktop there was no icon on the desktop for my hard drive. It is seen as a boot volume and all seems fine except my desktop is blank. Is there a terminal command I can enter to reenable this icon, I created an alias but the arrow is driving me nuts
View 4 Replies View RelatedSince i've been running the 10A432 build of snow leopard I have noticed that my iPhone will not sync with iTunes. Is this just because iTunes will need updating to bring new kext files??
View 4 Replies View RelatedHad leopard, upgraded to 10a432 snow leopard, if that's not the GM can I upgrade to it from there? I'm hearing not... I had a santa rosa 2007 mbp and bought the leopard upgrade disk (got it around leopard launch), it messed up too many times, got an early 2008 mbp replacement with leopard on it, upgraded that to 10a432. so i only have a leopard upgrade disk and 10a432. halp?
View 7 Replies View RelatedFor some reason I thought it would be a good idea to upgrade to SL ahead of time, mainly due to impatience! However I now have no internet connection, it shows I have an IP address and everything works fine in windows on my MBP however when I boot to SL no go... Have tried re-installing and no luck...

View 24 Replies View RelatedI almost upgraded my 10.5.8 after all the reports of how stable/fast 10A432 is. Now I am glad that I didn't - after installing on an external partition and booting up (and migrating my settings and apps), there is a big Wifi problem. SL sees the network and connects to it, gets an IP, however I cannot access anything on the internet, nor ping any sites from Terminal. When I boot back into 10.5.8 it works. Restarting the router/modem has no effect, and it does this at home and at the office. I see these guys are having the same issue: [URL] Any idea what's up and how to solve this? I sure hope now that this is NOT the GM.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using the pre-release 10A432 Snow Leopard, and had problems installing the Bootcamp 3 drivers in Windows 7 x64. I had to disable UAC and run the 64 bit installer manually to get them to install...
Though the final release of snow leopard is also 10A432, are the bootcamp 3 drivers included on the final cd the same?
Are the drivers updated/different on this new release?
View 7 Replies View RelatedLet's have a list of applications that currently don't work under Snow Leopard 10A432.
CandyBar 3.1.2 - Unstable, becomes unresponsive after some time. Cannot scroll through installed icons.
Glims - Installs, but doesn't show up in Safari preferences.
Inquisitor - Installs, but doesn't show up in Safari preferences.
DNS-323 NAS Samba access is also broken in Snow Leopard. I can confirm this.
I just noticed, that the built-in video-cams on two iMacs (one white 20" and one aluminum 24") do not work.
System Profiler is not detecting a video-cam. I guess, this probably confirms that this is not the GM build. Does anyone have a solution to enabling the video-cams?
I recently replaced Leopard 10.5 with a clean installation (not an upgrade) of Snow Leopard 10A432 (SL) on my Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook (aluminum, 2GB RAM). Under Leopard 10.5 I was able to use Disk Utility (DU) to dynamically re-size existing volumes on USB hard drives. But under SL I am unable to do so. While I am able to replace all existing partitions on a USB drive with a new set of partitions and resize them prior to their creation by dragging the slider bars, once created, DU will not let me dynamically resize the new partitions. Doing so was easy with DU under 10.5. For example, after I re-partitioned a USB drive with DU under SL and created 2 partitions, I was able to make the top partition smaller by dragging the bottom edge upward from the lower right corner, but there seems to be no way (and no slider bars) to adjust the size of the lower partition to use the space freed by having made the upper partition smaller. In fact, although the upper partition reports a smaller size, when clicked on, the border around the upper partition still includes the range defined by its initial, larger size. There also seems to be now way (no slider bars) at the top edge of partitions that would allow them to be expanded/contracted from the top down. Has anyone else encountered these issues? Any thoughts/suggestions as to how to resolve them? Are these known issues? I have searched but not come across it as yet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI like Safari's U.I. very much, but, everytime I load around 5 pages at the same time it starts to freeze and give me the rainbow circle on the mouse pointer. If I open the same sites with Camino everything works great and even faster than Safari.
I do not want to quite switch to Camino, because its UI is ugly, but its really superior to Safari on speed terms and has the same compatibility as Firefox, because its Gecko engine (?).
I will miss Top Sites and Safari's UI so much
How your Safari works? Is it fast and freeze free?
Is there a 10.6.4 retail DVD available for purchase?
A friend bought one a bit ago, but it was 10.6.3.
Civ 5 finally came out for Mac, problem is do I want the Steam or retail DVD copy? I don't mind the digital download too much, but what I want is the least onerous copy protection. I've also read online that the DVD copy still uses Steam for activation, but can't be certain.?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recieved Leopard through the Up to Date program, around a year ago. I recieved a "Leopard Upgrade DVD" I was wondering if this is the same as the retail version, specifically because I am interested in trying to install Leopard on a Dell computer, and to do that you need the Retail version of Leopard. Functionally, is the Up to Date DVD the same, or will it check to see that I have an old version of Mac OS X already on the computer?

View 17 Replies View RelatedI have the latest MacBook Pro. I lost the CD that came with it. I'm attempting to reinstall Snow Leopard using a retail disc purchased from Apple. I've tried booting it by holding "C" and by holding "OPTION" and selecting the disc. I've also tried reseting the PRAM. It goes the the Apple screen and I can hear the disk spinning. Then it just hangs there.
Could this have anything to do with the fact that the computer came with 10.6.3 and I'm attempting to install 10.6 from the retail disc?
Yesterday I tried to reinstall Snow Leopard on my Mac mini 2009. When I inserted SL DVD (get one with mini) mini doesn't seemed to recognized it. It just loads and spin it few minutes and eject it after 2-3 min. Also no DVD option in "Startup disk" menu.
I was 99% that my SL DVD was corrupted (too scratched) and buy new Retail version in Apple store. When I came home and try to load Retail DVD I have the same issues.
I tried my friend's SL DVD and his copy loads with no problem at all. I just cannot install SL because DVD wasn't retail.
what the MD5 checksum is of the iLife '09.pkg on the retail DVD?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a quick question about the iWork '09 Retail box (for those of you who bought it). I downloaded the iWork '09 trial from Apple's website. When I launched Pages I was greeted with the Buy or Try screen. I bought myself a serial number. I have noticed now, that when I go into any iWork app if I click Pages/Keynote/Numbers in the menubar next to the Apple logo, I get the menu for About, Preferences, Register iWork, Quit, etc. I know that the retial box copies no longer require a serial number. My question is this: does the retail iWork disc still show "Try iWork..." as a greyed out menu option under the Pages/Keynote/Numbers menu? For the trial (that was bought with a legit serial, it does) So I was wondering if the retial box version does also? Like this:
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an eMac (the 1GHz USB 2.0 educational model) and retail copies of OS 10.3 and 9.1. OS 10.3 is installed, and I would like to install the Classic Mac Environment using my retail copy of OS9, but I can't figure out how to get it to work. The machine won't boot from the OS9 cd, and when I run the installer in Panther, it stops with a message that I need to update OS9, but cannot unless the drive is writable (which it isn't, because it's a cd). Is there a way to get OS9 onto my HDD so that I can actually update it, or do I need to buy another copy of OS9 to get this to work?

I have a nvidia white macbook turning up in a few days, it's missing it's hard disk and install disks so I will need to use a retail edition of leopard.
I would like to know if there are any issues with doing so. Are the nvidia macbooks running a newer build of leopard?
I don't have my install cds anymore, but I do have my leopard retail disc, so can that take the place of my install discs?
