Using OS X Mail, is there anyway to print an email without having to see the print dialog box? On Windows, Outlook has a "quick print" icon that you can put on the toolbar that does just that. I was just wondering if it was possible to do in OS X.

Specifically, I want to change quickly the layout of E-Mails, I print (font size bigger, smaller, rewrap mail, move attachments, so they print properly on one sheet instead of spreading on 4 sheets, etc.). I was a heavy user of fineprint for Windows back then and loved especially the implemented big print preview.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI open System Prefs and click 'Print & Fax'. I click + to add a printer. The dialog box opens for a few seconds and then closes. Just that window. I cannot add a printer at all or even print anything for that matter. I ran Printer Therapy and it finds nothing wrong. Same with TechTool Pro. Nothing seems to be wrong except this.
View 6 Replies View RelatedBought Epson CX3650 two months ago; have been printing only letters (i.e. black) which has run out, but so have all the other colours (can't understand why as I've printed next to nothing in colour). Ordered a new black cartridge but wouldn't print as other inks (which I don't need) have run out. Have looked for a "Black Only" option in the print dialog box but can't find it. Anyone know a quick fix that avoids buying 4 colour inks every time? Running Mac System 10.3.9.

I do not get a printer dialog box when I print my slides so I do not get the chance to print speaker notes. Also, when running Word, I go directly to print bypassing the printer dialog box in Word.
I have repaired permissions, updated all my software (OS X, MS Office), rebooted.
I just purchased a new Canon Inkjet printer and like my old Epson, the print dialog box is very limited. My only options are to change paper size or landscape mode. I'm unable to choose the number of pages, copies or print quality, etc.
How do I get a full featured print dialog box to display?
As an aside, in the printer/fax prefs I ink supply levels are unavailable as well.

I'm not sure how it happened, but suddenly I have lost the ability to change some settings in print dialog boxes.
In any print dialog box, the top part of the window allows you to select which printer, any presets, the number of copies, whether or not you want them collated, and which pages.
Below that is a drop-down box that typically displays the application name. If you select the triangle in this drop-down box, some other options appear: Layout, Color Options, Paper Handling, Cover Page and Scheduler. All of these options work fine.
Below, these however, are another set of options that are all, I assume, provided by the print driver. On my HP Photosmart C7200, the available options are: Two-Sided Printing, Paper Type/Quality, Borderless Printing, HP Real Life Technologies, and Printer Driver Information.
If I choose any of these options that appear in the lower part of this drop-down menu, nothing appears. The application name remains in the drop-down box. In other words, I have lost the ability to choose two-sided printing, change the paper type or print quality, cor hoose borderless printing.
When printing, all of my old, discarded printers are in the list brought up by the dialog box. They are gray, but still, it's an extensive list. How can I remove them?

I have recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and am now having problem with my hp 4500 office jet printer. The print icon tends to stay on the dock after the print job is done and then mess up the print queue. Even worse if I forget to cancel it manually then when I put the computer on 'sleep' the printer starts up again and the whole job is rerun unless I get to cancel it quickly on the printer!
It does not always do this (the print icon disappearing as it should do), but for 90% of the time it does.
Guys, how do you bypass firewall using SSH? Using terminal, i typed in "ssh username@ip" and it brings my command prompt from home. So I'm guessing I successfully SSHed, but what to do now?

I?m connectting from 2600xt via dvi-hdmi through a hdmi cable. Without the switch there?s no problem.
Q: Is it possible to by bypass Dual-link DVI, so that my hdmi-switch only receives a Single-link DVI signal?

I noticed that my in-laws 13-year old kid spends all his time glued to their iMac. I know that his user-account has parental controls enabled, and his computer-time is limited. I talked with him about it, and he mentioned that "Those time-limits are useless, since I can easily bypass them". He wouldn't tell me how he does it, though.
So, how could he bypass the controls? I'm asking because I would like to be able to plug that hole (if possible), so he would do something else than sit by the computer all the time.
"Discussing" the matter with a frigging 13-year old who thinks he knows everything is next to useless.
Alternatively: is there a third-party parenting-app that would offer more robust features that the OS X built-in toold do?
I have a MacBook I usually bring to work. My co-workers and michevious and always try to change my background, etc.
I leave on my screensaver password. I close the lid to my laptop to initiate the password protect.
So last night I came back from lunch, open up my MacBook and my co-worker comes next to me, it seems like she put a code, and then unlocked my MacBook.
It's either 1.) She know's my password or 2.) there's a bypass code because she typed something and it unlocked.
Anyone know how to hack it?
am curious to know how can you bypass a proxy server. With all the restrictions in China happening at the moment and not being to get on fb, youtube and well you name it websites. From what I know and see, there are ways to bypass the firewall. Does anyone know how to do it? Would be quite frustrating to not be able to get on anything since I am going to be posted there for a year.

When I try and connect something else to the port it says I have to pay another $50 to get 3 more mac code places. Is there anyways around this? Can I change the mac code of other machines? I have tried creating an airport on my mac and sharing the Ethernet port connection which only get's the message "buy more mac code slots..." on what ever connects to my airport.

His system asks us for a User and Password. The User it recognizes is my mom, now deceased 4 years, and we have no idea what password she might have set up. It also recognizes "Administrator" in the User field, so is there a standard password that goes with that?
Is there a way for us to change the User and Password? The computer's Help section recommended reloading the OSX software, but the OSX came loaded on the computer when we bought it, and there doesn't seem to be a CD of the system software in the house.
