So I recently purchased the Apple Wireless Pro keyboard, the one with the larger keys and numeric keypad: [URL] It works great and I love it! But, it does not recognize when I hold the "alt/option" upon startup if I wanted to use my bootcamp drive.

So I need to re-pair it but I can't do it easily when my mouse is not working.
So how do I get to the bluetooth menu and then click on "Set up New Device" all with the keyboard?
I've learned to move the mouse arrow with my keypad but how do I access the menu and button directly with keyboard shortcuts?
Last week I finally upgraded from 10.6 to 10.7, but now my Mac Pro (2008) won't boot properly. It'll start to boot with the gray screen and the Apple logo, but then the entire screen goes gray and it just locks up there.  However, if I reboot and hold down the Option key to bring up the list of bootable drives that works fine. I've checked my Startup Drive settings and the proper drive is selected. why it won't boot on it's own anymore? Holding down the Option key is getting old.Â

I have an Intel iMac that came with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. There are a variety of options that can be used when you boot the Mac, such as hold down the C key to boot from a CD/DVD, hold down the option key to choose the boot drive, etc. When you have a BT keyboard, it doesn't connect until it is booted. How do you get the iMac to recognize, say, the Option key?

I have no problem using my wired keyboard to boot into Windows using boot camp. but when I use the Apple Bluetooth keyboard, holding down the option button when powering up does not work. Anyone else have this problem?

I am attempting to select a different startup volume. I restarted my Mac Pro while holding the Option key. The Startup Manager screen never appearded for me to make a selection. I have two bootable volumes on separate internal disks available. I see them displayed in Disk Utilities.Â

I'm trying to boot up my late 2013 15" MBP (shipped with Mavericks) using an external startup disk running Mountain Lion. I really need to use the FCP iChat Theater feature, as I need to do some long distance editing. The startup disk works just fine, I checked it on another computer, but when I restart my Mavericks mac and choose it as the boot drive, I just get a grey screen with the universal "no"symbol (circle with a slash through it).

I finally went from Leopard to Snow Leopard (SL) by doing a clean install. But I found I was not able to boot from the install disk by the normal procedure -- restarting and pressing the Option or C keys. Before the SL install, I had a volume structure problem on my HD and tried to use the Leopard install DVD to repair the drive. I was unable to do that by using the normal boot up procedure.why I can't boot from the optiical drive by pressing the designated keyboard key(s)?

It's a 2.16 intel Core 2 duo with the ATI Radeon X1600 128MB video and I'm running OSX 10.7.3. It started happening on Snow leopard so I thought maybe upgrading to Lion would fix it but it has continued exactly the same. I've had an issue for a while now where the computer would just freeze all of a sudden. It happened after a few days at times while sometimes it happen right after a reboot. Â
Here are the things I've tried.Â
1. I upgraded to lion
2. I replaced the ram
3. Look at the crash log but found nothing
4. Ram mem check utility but it found nothingÂ
I can boot the computer in safe mode by holding the shift key and it works perfect with no freezing but I loose audio support becuase I think it's not loading the audio drivers. Question is: Can I select what drivers I want on boot when starting in regular mode not safe mode in order to try to disable drivers until I find the issue? Is there anyplace else that I can find which driver caused the computer to freeze after a freeze/crash? If I can ID the driver is there a way to update/replace the driver if it doesn't come up in "software update"? I'm thinking it's the video driver becuase I would occationally get some weird things happening on the screen that I attributed to an older display.Â

My iMac can locate it. And apparently be connected to it. But it's a mystery to me where in my home it is. Some time ago, I decided I wanted my numeric keys back and switched to a wired keyboard. And then I put the BT keyboard... somewhere. Any ideas on how to locate it easily? Can I make it beep? Can I triangulate its location? Anything? What is its range? Could it be as far away as my garage? As close as my attic?

I need an external keyboard and mouse. First I looked to Apple, but the new Bluetooth keyboard is Aluminum to match the new iMacs, which would look rubbish. I don't have a USB keyboard laying around. So I can't get into the system. Does anyone know a way to get the MacPro to open the disk bay and boot off the DVD? I should then be able to tie the keyboard back to the system?

I haven't used the keyboard for some months and decided to start using it again recently, however, every time I turn it on, it is recognized as "John Smith's keyboard" rather than my name. We want to buy the bluetooth Apple keyboard, but we are wondering if it's possible to pair 1 keyboard to 2 Macs. Is it as simple as turning bluetooth off on the Mac that's not using the bluetooth keyboard at the time? Or would we have to set up and go through the process of pairing them every time it needs to be connected to the other Mac?
My Apple keyboard has worked fine. Last night I lost my connection for the mouse and the keyboard(not unusual for the mouse). Had to set up both again. Mouse connected easily, keyboard took forever. Bluetooth would recognize it, it was discoverable(blinking green light), batteries strong, but could not make the connection. I did this over and over, finally got it. Tonight, same thing. Lost the mouse and the keyboard. Set them up again and same thing, mouse easy and keyboard still isn';t connected.

I for some reason can't get the MacBook Pro to recognize the Apple Wireless Keyboard I have. I had it paired with an iMac but I've unpaired it since and my MacBook Pro won't find it so I can use it at the login screen. I have bluetooth turned off in my account but hopefully that doesn't carry over into the login screen. Any ideas other than buying a wired USB keyboard just to log in so I can turn on bluetooth? It's an early 2006 2 GHz Core Duo MacBook Pro for what it's worth.
