Here's what I want it to do:
1 Open Safari
2 Click in the address bar
3 Type an address
4 Enter/return
Safari opens, but Automator doesn't want to left click in the address bar.
For left click/type I am using Automator Virtual Input
I put off doing the software update on Safari... I just HAD a feeling something would go wrong and I didn't have time to mess with it if it did.
So today I ran and update. And it messed up.
Now Safari will "open"... it looks like it is open and I have access to all the menus. But a Safari window will not open.
I am surprised that I haven't seen others with this problem. I have tried deleting the cache and deleting the preferences file. Neither seem to have made ANY difference.
I'm at a loss as to what to do. And I am feeling like I'm missing a body part. I need my Safari back!
my brother installed some kind of plug in called tenshisTV to be able to watch a streaming video of ufc today without my knowledge
i uninstalled it. ever since then i am unable to open new tabs, commant+t doesnt work, and neither does going to file > new tab does not work either.
also when i right click on links, the option to "open link in new tab" has also disappeared
how do i fix this?
I'm on OS 10.5.8. I just updated safari and java. Now when I open safari, I cannot get a browser window to even open. Not by trying to open a new window or going into my history and opening the Apple page. This is really frustrating since I hate Firefox (Way slower than safari has ever been for me) and now I can't even use Safari.
View 9 Replies View RelatedEver since upgrading to Lion, when I log into LogMeIn each computer I log into opens a new window. I have set the Safari prefs to open new windows as tabs, and it works for everything except LogMeIn. They claim it's a Lion issue. It also does this on Firefox.

all the automator shortcuts in the keyboard system preference went missing.
even creating a new service from automator also doesn't work anymore.
I can open automator just fine, but the service or workflow I created just doesn't work anymore.
I was wondering if I could use automator to open and maximize iCal at 5AM every morning.
I don't always remember to open the calendar and place it on top before I go to bed.
If I lose perspective and get off track first thing in the morning, the rest of the day I'm playing catch-up to make up for that lost time.
I really like iTunes 10. Clean, uncluttered, easily usable. BUT I have an automator action set for 7:30am every day as an alarm to wake me. This action plays a playlist in iTunes called "morning alarm" and has worked for months beautifully. When I loaded the action in Automator I got an error to say that the "play iTunes playlist" action, the auto iPhone sync action and set iTune volume actions we no longer valid. Those actions appear not to exist any longer in iTunes 10. Has anyone else had similar problems? Did you get a work-around?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am new to automator. I'm working on a Powerbook G4, in osx.4.11, and I'm trying to save a workflow as a plug-in in automator. When I click file>save as plug-in, nothing happens. I get no pop-up, and no plug-in is saved. I've tried this with various workflows.
I'm also having trouble adding actions to the workspace (even ones that make sense to add, i.e. I am following a tutorial to create a workflow that others have made before).

I want to write a script to automatically download the top 10 mp3s from this page [URL] popular then automatically add them to iTunes as a new playlist. Would something like this even be possible to do in Automator? I want to be sure it's actually possible before I dive in.
Another less advanced option would be automatically add mp3s dowloaded from Safari to a certain playlist. I'm sure that would be possible, right?
I am looking for one that is system wide for every browser that will auto clean history, cache, cookies and other bad stuff that you don't want.

I am about to launch my website but am having trouble with my google font. For some reason when I scroll up and down or move the mouse over a word, the font gets light and pixel-y. Can anyone tell me what to do to fix this? It doesn't happen in older versions of Safari or in Firefox.

I've had this Macbook pro given to me a year ago and have only recently started to use it. I've had to reset the login password as my friend could not remember the password she had put a year ago. Now I am being asked for the keychain password and it keeps saying wrong password. When I tried to go on to keychain access it wont even open!

The trackpad settings in system preferences seem fine, I didn't spill any liquid on it and didn't let it fall.

I cannot open PDF files through Safari. I've read some of the other comments on the same/similar issue and I have tried those steps and have been unsuccessful. I still cannot view PDF files through Safari, in fact, the Preview doesn't even open. When it worked the preview icon would pop up in the tool bar at the bottom of my Mac Book, but it no longer does that. Here is what I've tried; Upgrading my Adobe, even though I know you don't need it for Mac. Removed Adobe from applications and deleted.  Went to Library and internet plug ins and there is nothing in that folder.  Went to internet preferences and un clicked enable plug ins. View 9 Replies View RelatedI've seen 4-5 times where all bluetooth devices stop working all at once, and the Bluetooth configuration utility does not open, so the only solution is to shut down by pressing the power button. Sometimes, restarting once is enough to correct the problem. Other times, I have to do it again and hold down the shift key when I press the power button, and OS X sees the keypress and forces a safe restart.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi was browsing the net today and a please restart your computer message popped up. i assumed it was because of my coolbook voltages being to low so i restarted it and bumped the settings up. but when i tried using safari again it would not open. a blank page would apprear and that multicolored wheel just keeps spinning. i force quit and try opening it again. same thing. any ideas what i can do before i uninstall my coolbook and take it to the apple store.

I think Safari 3 used to have this functionality but now when I close Safari, it "quits" as in all my open tabs are closed. However Safari stays open.
