OS X :: GarageBand Instrument Library Completely Missing
Aug 5, 2009A week ago I had to format my HD and reinstall Leopard last week. When I restored from my external HD afterward, I just clicked and dragged back the files and folders that I wanted instead of completely restoring the drive. I put Garageband back in my Apps folder. It didn't work when I opened it (something about an instrument library being invalid, what ever.). So I reinstalled iLife 09 from the disc, and now Garageband opens properly.
The problem is that there are no (0) instruments in the library now, nor any loops. I know that normally there's an update available from Software Update that's about 1.1gb and includes all of the instruments and loops, but that update isn't appearing in the list. Anyone know what I can do? If someone can point me to a download/Rapidshare/torrent/Anything of that update, or even a functional instrument library?

Apr 12, 2009As you can see I have lost the ability to create a ringtone in Garageband, was this a nerf in a update I missed? I'm using Garageband 3.0.5 (104.10) and iTunes 8.1.1 (10). Does anyone else have the same problem? I'm away from another Mac to check its not just a one off anomaly.

Oct 27, 2010Iwe know that Apple is building a huge server farm that almost certainely is pertaining to MobileMe or its sucessor. We also know that that iWeb is rather tied to the web and MobileMe (off course I know that you can use iWeb without MobileMe). And the MacApp Store is coming in less t han 90 days I think that the iLife suite is being deprecated and the four apps are going to be sold individually in the MacApp Store. Thereby they can have individual releases.

Jul 12, 2009Reading on the microsoft support pages it says you need to boot from the startup disk to do the system re-install, but I can't seem to do this. I tried to just leave the disk in, then restart in windows, but it just spit the disk out. Then I tried leaving the disk in and holding down the option key and clicking on the startup disk, then all I got was the blank windows screen with the line in the corner. how to do the reinstall?

Sep 4, 2010I just did a restoree and reformat of macbook. I have installed all the programs that were on before but do not have teh Mac Office disk and product key to reinstall it. I saved the officepid.plist file from system before refromat. I thought I could just install the trial version and then replace this file in the system. It is not working though.

My question is, is there a way to basically transfer all of my files/programs/etc. to the new Mac without having to reinstall everything? The iMac will become my primary computer, and the MBP will become kind of a sitting on the couch/travel computer. This is the first time I will be upgrading Macs, as the MBP was my first non-PC computer.
The MBP is running Snow Leopard already.

My problem is that I had backed up my site a long time ago, after which i have made many changes. Now when I open iWeb it takes me back to the original days of the site. I still have the desired folder in "Sites", but can seem to get in onto iWeb. Is there any way to put my latest site back onto iweb?

OS X :: Icons Missing In Finder / Apps And Video Icon Missing
Nov 30, 2010Over the last few days I've noticed a problem with missing icons. It seems to mainly effect icons in the Trash but I have one or two missing icons for videos and apps within the Finder and on the Desktop. The icon is completely gone - I have to click on the filename to select it. Quicklook works OK (for video).
I can't think of anything I've installed that would have done it except Onyx, but I haven't run that in weeks. I did repair permissions a few days ago but I doubt that could break this. It persists after a reboot. I can't get it to happen on command, it just randomly occurs. Creating a New Folder always works OK.

Jul 23, 2008in the last two days, when i make something in garageband and i want to export to disk. before i would choose my desktop and after normalizing and converting...it would put a mp3 on my desktop. recently when i do this, it normalizes the track...but it just stops after that....no mp3 on my desktop....i have to send it to itunes now and then pull it out of itunes to have an mp3....what is going on?

OS X :: Saving Files In GarageBand?
Mar 7, 2009I am having a frustrating time with one aspect of garageband I can't seem to resolve. Here is the situation - if I record a multitrack live performance and save the entire 60 minute+ file it is 3.12GB in size.
If I then edit the file down into 7 minute, and 5 minute sections from the master file - they are still saving as 3.12GB files. It is as if I can't get rid of all of the contents of the master file when I edit down shorter i.e. smaller sections.
