Mar 8, 2010I have a project I'm working on from a birthday party. What I'm trying to do is take a 5 second audio clip from a piece of video (a bunch of 3 year olds screaming happy birthday) and use it as audio over a still image to start the video. I detached the audio that I want to use, highlighted it and copied it. I can't figure out how to use it elsewhere. Maybe it's not possible to do this in iMovie 09?

Aug 20, 2010I have a movie file in .avi format and a subtitle file in .sfv format, and I would like to burn the subtitled movie onto a DVD using Toast Titanium. I've discovered that simply dragging both files onto the disk won't work - Toast rejects the .sfv file.
There obviously has to be a simple (?) way of combining the two files, but it's proved surprisingly difficult to find out how, so I'd be grateful for any guidance.
Software :: Final Cut Express Audio - Cannot Hear Music & Sound Track On The Film Clip
Jan 23, 2009I have Final Cut Express 4 running on an iMac with Leopard 10.3.5. The problem I have is I cannot hear a music track & the sound track on the film clip at the same time when I run the clip. I only hear the clip sound track until it finishes then the music track plays. If I drag the scrubber bar along the time line I can hear both the music & the Clip sound track together. This only happens when I logon to the Mac as an Administrator. (I have never managed to hear both sound tracks together whilst logged on as Administrator.)
In desperation I created a user account on my iMac. If I logon as a user Final Cut Express 4 works ok ? I hear both sound tracks together when I play the clip. Any ideas how I can make the Administrator account work as the User account does? As the iMac is only used by myself I don?t need any user accounts.

Aug 6, 2010I now want to add my video media library to iTunes so that all my digital media will be in one place, and I can organize and search shows by genre, artist, etc. First, all my videos are .avi, so I figured that since iTunes accepts only .mp4 I have to convert ALL of them which will take SOO LONG. Any easy way of batch converting? Should I even store my videos and tv shows in iTunes, or do people do it differently? (I want to do something other than just putting them in folders)
But my main question is, because I store all these videos on an external drive, I simply want to link them to iTunes and keep them in their original paths, since they won't fit locally. I can accomplish this by simply un-checking the advanced preference option of copying the files to the default location, but that means I have to turn this off and then back on each time I want to import video. I understand this is not a HUGE deal but wanted to see if this was the proper/most efficient way of going about this.

Apr 28, 2012I own a Sony Cyber-shot camera, and a 24 inch IMAC computer. I took a short video clip and downloaded it to Iphoto (no problem doing that). I then downloaded the clip to a 4 gpb flash drive, as an mp4 video. My problem is that my friends Microsoft based PC can't play it.

How this music copied to my internal HD I really have no clue. I just copied 15 cds in a row to itunes and half went to external and half went to internal. Everything plays and works fine I just want it all on the external. How can I get the music to my external without messing it up on itunes and taking forever deleting and re-adding music?

Jan 18, 2009I've run into an odd problem where iTunes (v8.0.2.20 Windows Vista) will not add, play or do anything with audio files (mp3) that it has previously played in the past (same version of iTunes). It played it one day, then the album disappeared and will not allow it to be added again, it does how ever work perfectly in Quicktime player, Winamp, WMP and other players. When I use Add Folder to Library, I get a quick "Processing files" dialogue, then it disappears (Same if I drag the folder into the library itself), and when I try to play the files individually, nothing happens at all. I've tried everything short of reencoding the files, which I want to save as a last resort (So as to not lose audio quality) and Ripping the CD again isn't an option since I no longer have the original after my car was broken into.

I added a bunch of music files (correct format of course) to this folder and they don't show up. I still have to use "Add to library" and browse to the actual folder and song for it to show up. Jun 19, 2008I have been trying to add music to a movie in iMovie. However, when I click the music button, it just presses and releases, and no music list appears. It used to, but now it doesn't. So no way to add music.
Also, after doing the most basic things, such as creating one slide with just text, iMovie decides to crash, and the spinning colour wheel appears.
Both of these issues have only recently started happening. It is running on the latest 2.4GHz iMac with 3GB RAM, and only safari and messenger running in the background. It is very annoying, and I don't know how to resolve it.

Nov 1, 2009I have two questions/issues with iDVD. I'm a bit of a beginner when it comes to iDVD but I have checked all over the internet for the answers.
First I am using the soft frame theme and I am using all three drop zones with video filling them. When I play back the dvd in the dvd preview the video plays very choppy. It is almost frame by frame. The effects of the menu are also slow (in fact the whole preview of the dvd seems to be slow).
My second problem is that when adding background music the dvd takes the whole length of the song to loop, and in the short time is takes someone to choose a button the first drop zone is still looping.
Software :: Streaming Music And Movie Files To Xbox 360
Sep 23, 2008I recently got an XBox 360 and wanted to stream music and movie files to my Xbox. Somebody pointed to Connect360, which works great: [URL]. Due to the fact that I only have 250 Gb on my iMac hard drive, I decided to keep my movie files on a 500 Gb external hard drive. With Connect360, I can't stream files from the hard drive. I tried creating aliases to both the folder and to individual files. The only files that will stream to my XBox are files residing on the iMac hard drive.
1) Folder aliases are not detected by the XBox.
2) File aliases are detected by the XBox but will not play. The error message is something along the lines of an unsupported media format (I'm not at home right now), despite the fact that a copy of the exact same file will play if it's on the iMac.
Would creating the symlink in a Unix command prompt make any difference?
