I have a question regarding publishing to .Me using iWeb and thought I'd ask the pro's I've created a site and I can publish it without issue, but I can see the 'site name' given by iweb in the URL. here's an example: iWeb shows the site a 'Site_1' so when I publish to .Me, I see the [URL]. How can I remove the 'site_2' from the URL?

And don't have any files of the site on my computer. Where and how can I access the website files since the move from .me to iCloud as a matter of urgency? I'm not seeing any option in iCloud to view or see any files at all.

I am trying to transfer my website to a new host and have the older version of iweb--08, v.2.0.4. the menu for transferring via the ftp site seems to only be for the upgraded version of 09 iweb. Has anyone found a workaround?

Any suggestions for who to use as a host? I have only used apple servers so don't know the first thing about finding a host. I leave on an expedition in a couple of days, so I need to do this quickly so that I don't have any down time on my site.

With MobileMe going away, lost will be my Gallery, iWeb Site and iDisk. These were great features, they made it very easy to use. I've never had an outside web publishing service before and not looking forward to finding one. It seems to me that the iCloud features and very basic in comparisson and a real step backward.

I own my own my own domain name in which I bought through Genesis Domains. I have my own personal iWeb page published using MobileMe. Apple's instructions on transferring my page does not help me. I'm pretty oblivious when it comes to knowing what hosting and a server is. And until I one day upgrade to a machine with Lion, I'm stuck with MobileMe, or what is left of it. I have links to my MobileMe galleries through my iWeb pages. I know the galleries are going away too. Is there a way people can still look at my photo albums when they are at my website?

Why can't I publish iWeb (v3.0.4) anymore? Seems to be with the closure of mobileme but I thought that this was still OK/transfered to iCloud?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've just "upgraded" from iWeb '08 and published some changes to my home page, but now none of my html snippets show up? The only page I've uploaded to the server is the "welcome" page, but now none of the html snippets are showing on that page. I can see the html snippet when I "visit the published site" via the hard drive, but not on the web. Does iWeb '09 put the html snippets somewhere new? If so, where? Should I upload my entire site again now that '09 has updated all of my files? (I'm afraid my entire site will be rendered unusable if all the snippets are erased).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI belong to a club and shortly they are moving to Google Calendar as a way of publishing their events on-line. From what I have read else where, it is possible for them to publish their events publicly, so that they are searchable and anyone can add them to their own Google calendar.
Would it then be possible for me to view their public Google calendar in iCal? If not, could I achieve the same out come by setting up my own intermediate Google Calendar, which took the clubs feed, and then use iCal to view that? I don't wish to share information back, just add their info to my own calendar automatically. So that if an event is added/deleted or changed, my calendar is automatically updated when I view it.
every time i open a site and click something it will direct me to a new site. this happens everytime without fail.. (on every site) also my web cam. I have deleted a load of stuff and randon apps iv have downloaded. i have change some internet setting but still nothing happens. seem to be ever since i down loaded the new update.

I managed to get Site2Site VPN working between two different networks/office buildings using the guide from apple.com. One network server/gateway is 192.168.0.1 and the other is 192.168.1.1, everything works, every client can see every client and every client can see every serverSo far so good.But what I can't do is ping from Mac server one (192.168.0.1) to the other mac server on the other network (192.168.1.1) and vice versa. I have three sites created in iWeb.
They are all published to the web.
I have one domain file (should there be three???)
I have all of the website pages in my website file....however, within iWeb I deleted all of the pages for one of the sites. In order to ever edit those pages, do i need to rebuild them or can I transfer them back in somehow??
One more note...I do have that particular website in its entirety in iWeb on another laptop...(not mine and I do not have continual access to it); will this help me? Can I somehow merge the two iWeb apps so that I have all three websites??

My problem is that I had backed up my site a long time ago, after which I have made many changes. Now when I open IWeb it takes me back to the original days of the site. I still have the desired folder in "Sites", but can seem to get in onto IWeb. Is there any way to put my latest site back onto IWeb? I haven't setup time machine, I publish using Easy IWeb Publisher, I don't have have a Mobileme account.

I have mobile me and have the site published to that. How can I download the site to my MB in IWeb format? I've tried downloading them as HTML but IWeb can't open them.

Now I have a second Mac, a Mini, and I am trying to use it to work on my site but I can't figure out how to access the current site with iWeb. All it seems to want to do is create new sites. My site is saved to the "Sites" folder on my hard drive, and uploaded to my MobileMe space. Yet there doesn't seem to be any way to open the site, from either location, with iWeb on the Mini.

View 2 Replies View Relatedjust got a new Mac Pro and I need to transfer my iWeb site over, but am having absolutely no luck doing so. The older iWeb site was created on iWeb 2.0 and is uploaded to my MobileMe account and everything.
Well for all the main sites I visit with safari they load up fine. But one site and only one doesn't display correctly. It shows up fine in firefox but not in safari. I can use the site alright in safari but I would like it if I could make it display correctly. And I really don't feel like switching over to firefox because I prefer using safari. So is there any way I can fix this issue without having to switch browsers every time I visit the site.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI really don't have a feeling that Chrome is as fast as people claim it to be. For example, each time I try to open Macrumors forum website it takes like 8-10 secs for Chrome to load the page!! (In Safari it takes 2-3 secs.) I've noticed Chrome will often display "Resolving host..." msg first, then it will take you to the site of your choice. Something must be wrong with my browser, but I really don't know why - I just installed it anew, but no change. (Btw, I've read somewhere that turning off the DNS setting in Chrome will help speed things up, but it didn't seem to help when I tried it...)
