When I try to take a photo it says the camera is not connected. It used to work with these applications. I did all steps on Apple Support Page [URL] but it still doesn't work.

I've got the late 2008 Aluminum MacBook.. For some reason the camera stopped working and is not even registering on Photobooth.. I never dropped it badly and there is no real reason for this to stop working.. does anybody know of an easy fix?

I have OSX 10.5.8. In the past, I was able to use PhotoBooth, but now when I open it, all options to take a photo are grayed out. The screen, where, I believe, previously I'd seen whatever was in the built-in camera's lens (generally whatever I put in front of the screen to photograph), I now see all black with a white camera icon crossed out. Skype works fine though. When I try to load iChat, it crashes unexpectedly. For clarification, I'm using the built-in cam and do not have external camera hooked up to it. I don't really care about iChat, which I never use, and am very, very glad that Skype, which I do use, is working. However, I would very much like to get PhotoBooth working.

I bought this iMac G5 on ebay like half a year ago. The camera never worked when I got it. Then today, my sister was telling me to get it fixed. She tried using photobooth. Then idk how many times she launched photo booth then the light turned green! It worked for like a second.. when she moved the monitor, there it is again "the camera-not working icon".
View 3 Replies View RelatedEvery single time I open Photo booth the damn thing crashes. When I try to open it the second time, it usually opens fine. (Sometimes freezes). It's always the first time I try to open it and the damn thing crashes. It's driving me nuts.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIts only photo booth that causes this. I did a fresh install Of OS X and did updates. I tried resetting the pram or nvram. Didnt do anything.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a MACBOOK PRO (new style) and i am trying to use the built in web cam. However, when I go into photo booth it tells me the camera is not connected. what it is that I am doing wrong? Also , when I go into photo booth the camera goes in and out...stating that camera is not connected.
Any time I open an application like Skype, Facetime, or Photobooth, it tells me my built-in camera is not connected.I've had this Macbook Pro since about October of 2011, and this problem didn't start until last month. Before that, it worked perfectly fine. I've restarted my computer several times with no luck, as well as restarted the applications themselves. I don't know what else to do! I don't want to pay to get it fixed if it's something I can easily fix myself. Should I try resetting my SMC?

View 1 Replies View Relatedusing a MacBook Air 2013, just upgraded to Yosemite in the hope that it may fix my camera issue but to no avail.
Photo Booth greets me with the issue "There is no connected camera". Both Facetime and Skype don't recognise it either, same error message.
Have tried the terminal command kill all VDC, reset the SMC and PRAM as suggested online, as well as upgrading to Yosemite as I said before.

My Apple MacBook Air (OS X 10.9.3) is saying 'there is no connected camera' in both Photo Booth and FaceTime despite having a built-in integrated camera. The camera worked until I updated my laptop software I think. I have tried both the troubleshooting suggestions as given on the site and I have reset the SMC.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Dad has a 2006 17" iMac that is fully updated and it does have a camera built in as it should. My Dad also has a cannon all in one printer scanner copy machine hooked up to the computer. As of this moment, when I hit an application like Photo Booth or something else that uses the camera, the program says that no camera is connected.
I did a little detective work and found where someone hooked up an all in one HP device and the scanner took over the "port" that the iSight camera was supposed to be on. I don't know if this is the problem or not but it was all I could come up with. I am pretty Novice when it comes to computers and don't know how to tell what is on any port or how many ports their even are for that matter.
I have a MBP running 10.6.
And every program gets the No Video Camera Error. how to fix?
how to get facetime to work again? When I pull it up, it says *There is no connected camera.* How do I recconnect the camera? (On an imac Lion)

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a Canon app which I use for tethering etc, but don't use for importing photos. But when I connect my camera via USB, this app (EOS Utility) automatically opens. There doesn't appear to be an option to change this in the app itself. Is there a central way in system preferences or elsewhere to change what happens when a camera is connected?

I'm about to pull my hair out...
I'm looking for a network camera which can be connected directly to a modem.
A camera which can be controlled (pan/tilt) and viewed through a browser or on an iPad/iPhone. Preferably nightvision, motiondetection and auto upload to a ftp server upon detection.
I noticed 99% of the cameras don't support mac!?
I'm hoping to spend around $400, don't know if this is realistic.
Can anyone recommend a good camera and software to get the job done?
I keep getting "camera disconnected " in photo booth i leave the computer in sleep mode most of the time.I have to restart, for the camera to work again then it disconnects itself when photo booth has not been used for a while ?
