Jul 1, 2010My iTunes music files were stored on an external hard drive. But, unfortunately, the iTunes library file must have been on the laptop hard drive. Now, when I open iTunes music library and playlists are empty, despite my having 120GB of music on the connected hard drive.
Short of dragging and dropping all the music files into the iTunes window, is there any other way of "telling" iTunes where to find my music? I have tried "organize library" and nothing happens.

Apr 30, 2012I read somewhere that deleting the content from those folders would speed up your Mac, which I believed until I did so...I emptied my trash, and everything was running smoothly for a few minutes...now my mac is EXTREMELY slow, it take FOREVER to open Applications and Documents, the volume keys are messed up and don't even work, I click it and 10 minutes later it responds...and everything is messed up! I thought if I gave it time, it will go back to normal, but no, it's been 4 days and nothing!Â
I don't have Time Machine set, nor do I have OS X Snow Leopard disk. Is there a way to solve this problem without buying a new disk? My parents lost the old disk, and we aren't financially comfortable right now..

Sep 5, 2010I just updated my iTunes but it appears it deleted my library. This sucks because I have spent hours upon hours sorting it, renaming crooked song titles, finding covers and all that stuff. I used time machine to back up my computer like 5 days ago, but I can't figure out how to use it. I wish I could just select that given day (when I made my last backup) and make it turn everything back to what it was back then. How do I do this exactly? I don't care at all if I have to go back to the old iTunes (obviously they will fix this eventually!) - I just want it to look like it did a few days ago.

Jun 2, 2014Today, I thought I would clear out some memory on my Mac Book Air. I had items in folders and dragged a number of items to Drop Box thinking this would free up space. I must have done something wrong as they items were not in the folders on Drop Box. When I returned to the documents left on my internal hard drive, the folders were intact but the documents in the folders were gone. The documents included keynote presentations, pages docs, numbers docs, and pdf docs.

Apr 17, 2012My mackbook air keeps telling me that my start up disk is full. I delete items daily but keep receiving the same message. I have found that the problem may be that items are being saved in multiple areas on my computer. I don't know why this is happening and so I don't really know which copies to delete and which to save. It this point I cant even get software updates or compress files since there is not enough space available at this time.

Aug 11, 2009I just discovered that I had deleted a bunch of "To Do" items by accident. I cannot find where they go. I cannot believe that there is no "Trash" type place for them and they are gone forever.
If that his how the "To Do" list works, I will have to find a replacement. Hard to believe that a single keystroke is so irreversible. I found myself somehow on the wrong row and deleted several items this way. Cannot find them anywhere.

MacBook Pro :: Fonts Deleted - How To Get Back
Nov 4, 2010I was downloading some fonts from [URL] because I was going to use them in some software. Now it told me to just double click the file and hit "install" I did that and then this window came up and I hit the little + sign to add them. And then it started copying all my fonts I think? I stopped it and then it sowed a bunch of them that were not there? So I basically hit the install button it came up with coulombs in one window. The left coulomb had a list of my name my computer and all that. The middle coulomb said the three fonts I wanted to install.
So in the bottom on the middle coulomb there was a little plus sign + I hit it and it looked like it started copying all my fonts. So now I am stuck. Also once I had canceled the install/copy/who knows what. There was a message under I believe 4-6 fonts that were all in the middle coulomb that said some warning! About the font having multiple or something. Also is said I could use a command to resolve this or something? I don't want to damage my computers software!

Jun 16, 2012I am using OSX Mail and a me.com address, via O2 broadband in the UK. About once a day, Mail, apparenty randomly, reloads dozens of recently read and deleted messages. So, just now for example, I appear to have 68 new messages, and it's all stuff I've dealt with already, some of it is in the InBox and some is filed in other Mailboxes - doesn't seem to make any difference. So now I'm getting duplicates and probably throwing out items I meant to keep.Â
This is just happening on my desktop iMac and is not replicated on my iPhone or Macbook Air. It feels as if the sync between the iMac and iCloud is somehow corrupting, if that's possible.Â
This has been going on for a few weeks and so isn't getting better on its own (as I have read in other postings). It also doesn't seem to be linked to any other event. The iMac is on all the time, either in use or asleep, and maybe gets restarted once a week.Â
I am wary of deleting things from the Library in case I either lose ALL my mail or it decides to replicate every message in the archive.Â
