Nov 11, 2010My previous phone literally broke and I didn't back up my contacts. So I'm retyping them. I don't want to make that mistake twice.
I plugged in the phone to my MBP but I have no idea what to do.
My phone prompts me to choose Media Player, PC Studio, or Mass Storage. I don't have Media Player. So which do I pick and then what to do on the MBP?

I'm now having the same problem that many of the first users of Lion experienced: my iCal sync is not working between devices. Apr 27, 2012I have an MacBook Pro with 10.5.8, iMac with 10.7.3, iPhone 4S and the new iPad. My problem is that I want to sync my emails with all my devices (like google email) but I cant do it properly because my work email is a POP server. Changing my email server to IMAP is not a option currently.

2 days ago ITUNES got locked up and would not quit - even attempting a force quit which did not work. I then tried a reboot of the Mac which gave me another opportunity to force quit the app which was successful..
Ever since then ITUNES appears not to be working with my mobile device IP4S. I tired the IPAD which seems to work.
I did a hard reboot on the IP4.

When setting up an iphone to synch with the lion server, why does it only present mail and notes for synch? Is this just how it works, you have to setup the different services seperately for mail, contacts, and calendar? I can't believe that when an iphone has builtin support for exchange.Â
2. I followed [url] to get ical working for AD users. I also followed http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5276 to get push notifications in ical and addressbook working for AD users. It was initially working after following this doc, however now it's not. Even after restarting just get invalid username or password.The log file shows something about an OD crash which seems to coincide with an attempt to login to iCal using AD credentials.
3. I cannot edit user's shortnames via WGM. Even so, it wouldn't accomplish what i need. So i'm fine with just manually creating aliases. I tried to edit the postfix aliases file for a test alias group: user1, user2 Doesn't work even after restarting mail it says it's unknown user. Mailman doesn't work the way i expected. I need to create distrobution groups, not a maillist. Â

May 6, 2012I have had an iPhone for quite sometime and had iTunes on an old Windows laptop. About a week ago now, I purchased a MacBook Air and am now using this instead of my old laptop. But I am having trouble syncing everything, I'm clearly doing something wrong but I can't work out what it is. I have plugged my iPhone into the MacBook and I understand that pressing sync simply won't work, as it will try and put everything from this iTunes onto my iphone, thereby removing my iPhone stuff. I was told to click "Check for available downloads" but this just tries to download one silly app I got ages ago - nothing since then. It will just list this one download.The way I had imagined it would work, is that I press "Check for available downloads", this would bring everything to iTunes and then I can sync but obviously this is not the case.

May 13, 2012I have iCloud, and it doesn't seem to be doing a thing. My calendars, which used to sync under MobileMe, now don't sync anymore. In fact, they don't even sync through iTunes when I PHYSICALLY PLUG the phone into the Macbook. Calendars are set up to sync. I have selected ALL calendars to sync (even though I wish I could just get rid of the different calendars and have just one. What a pain! Just because I wanted to write in different colors on my calendar depending on the type of event, iCal has to complicate everything and treat these as separate calendars???) The settings on my iPhone are also set to sync all calendars. I've gone into the iCloud settings; everything is on and enabled. The OS on the iPhone is the most current. iTunes is up to date. My OS on my Macbook is the latest (Lion OS 10.7.4).

I watched them on my Mac, and deleted them off my iPhone to save space, given their size. I also do NOT have the "sync new TV shows" box checked.
Yet, the shows keep re-syncing and loading onto my iPhone every time I sync. I suspect this has something to do with the fact that I purchased them on my iPhone. But how do I make this stop?

Feb 19, 2012My laptop got stolen a few weeks ago, i've replaced it with a new MBP, and fortunatley I done a full backup at xmas time, so my computer is just like it was on the 23rd of December 2011. However, my iphone has a ton of new photos, music and playlists on it since that date.
Now I want to keep all these tracks, playlists and photos, but i don't no how to go about it.
If i plug it in to the MBP now, won't itunes back sync and delete all the new stuff?
How do i go about keeping the recent stuff on my iphone?
