I managed to delete all the addresses from all computers by deleting them in iCloud. When I try to find the address book files in Library>application support, it is not there. I can't even find the library folder under users>username either. Where do I find the proper folder to restore from time machine?

Is it possible to modify the Application Support folder location of an app?Â
E.g. I have a program which stores it's data in ~/Library/Application Support/AppName .
However, I'd like to have two completely seperate sets of data to work with, so I'd duplicate the app and hope to modify some file inside the package so that the duplicate would store it's data in ~/Library/Application Support/AppName2 .Â

I´ve just installed Windows 7 on my Mac and everything went well. In the Store they told my that i would need to install Boot Drivers so that i could use all the keys and so on. I inserted the Mac OSX Install Disc 1 but nothing is coming and as i looked there was written that there is nothing on the disc.
I also can´t use wireless lan in the moment on windows.
Finder has been hanging recently, causing other apps (and sometimes the whole system) to become unresponsive. i googled for fixes, and followed a suggestion to reboot into Safe Mode, navigate through a few directories in Finder, then restart normally. having done this, i now find that Chrome's settings and bookmarks have been wiped and my contacts and calendars have gone AWOL; it seems that most of the subdirectories under ~/Library/Application Support have disappeared, taking my Calendars, Contacts, etc. with them...

I'm using MacBook Pro Early 2011 model with Mountain Lion (10.8.5).
I recently noticed that there was an application folder in my home folder (the folder with your username), but that application folder had been empty. I remember I used to be able to access to my applications from that folder, but not anymore.Â
Since the folder was empty, I deleted it before doing further research.Â
After deleting the empty application folder from the home folder, I looked up and some said the application folder in the home folder and the application folder in Macintosh HD are two different folders. I don't know what it means, but I would like to have an application folder with applications in my home folder. Is this possible? or should I just make an Alias folder and put it in my home folder?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI accidentally dropped my "Applications Folder" off my Dock when I first got my Mac and it disappeared. When I put it back by dragging the applications folder onto the Dock, instead of assuming the Applications Folder logo, it took on the logo of the first application in my Applications Folder: the Address book. Now, my desktop permanantly has the picture of the Address Book instead of the picture of the Applications Folder.
How do I fix this? ive followed other thread advice with no luck. Is there a way to re-set the Dock? Where does the logo live and how do I get it back there?
When i upgraded to Lion my application folder dissapeared fro the right hand side of the dock.I would like to put it back in as a folder with the letter A in it. Tried to drag frpm Mac HD in finder but it comes in as a text icon.Cant use the display as -- when I right click as it is greyed out.

I had created 3 personal folders In my Home folder. I then created a new folder called "active folder" and dragged these 3 folders inside, removing them from the Home folder. I then dragged my newly created folder "Active Folder" to the Sidebar of the finder. When I had closed finder and reopened it - the "active Folder" folder was unable to open. A friend tried to help- dragged "active folder" off the sidebar.. and it disappeared with a cloud effect. I cant find that folder or its NB contents anywhere?

I have a macbook pro with a 750 GB hard disk. This was purchased only recently. Two months ago, it showed a message which said the hard disk was full. This was despite the fact that I had less than 10GB of pictures and music together.
When I spoke to Apple, they said that Yahoo mail tends to create a recovered messages folder, which he helped me locate and delete. This gave me 740Gb back.
It has happened once again. And i cant seem to lopcate this folder. I cannot find Mail folder either having gone through user/library etc.
