MacBook Pro :: Safely Interchange Laptop Components?

I have a broken MBP that wont boot, repair is too expensive so I will be buying a new one. I plan on changing out the hard drive (because it has 500 GB capacity) and also the ram (total of 6 GB's) and putting them into my new notebook of the same year and model. However I am curious: if there is a problem with one of these components (hard drive, ram) is there a chance that it can infect the new computer? I don't know much about computers in this regard and I don't want to transfer and issue from my old MBP (Which repairer's said could be a bad video graphic card but they are not sure).Â
I noticed awhile back that apple store had 2 dif mag safe adapters. Now i see the 60w goes with the 13 and 85w goes with the 15 and 17. So my question is it bad to interchange the adapters between the 2 dif models?
Last week my friend gave me their macbook for free and told me it had a fried logic board. I took it just because I wanted the learning experience. I'm a freshmen learning engineering, so if soldering/de-soldering is needed I should be fine. I'm wondering how to figure out what is wrong with the logic board, ie. if it got water damage because I was thinking maybe I could try to get replacement components for the logic board. Also it came with a 60gb hard drive, but I was wondering if I could upgrade that. I know I need a 2.5 sata drive, but I was wondering if iIhad to get the hard drive from apple or if I could just go on newegg and buy any hard drive that has 2.5" sata connection.
first I know this isn't a Linux form, and there is not a linux forum, but thought this would be the best place to put this, because I supose it applies to windows as well.
Anyway, I have a CD rev A Macbook, that I just installed Ubuntu with. I love it, but I am afraid one day it will overheat and cause my processor to melt. Is that possible? I have heard that if it gets to hot, that the thing will just shut off, but I don't want to take any chances.
So i already did try to update once, charging in, following all the instructions. In the middle of the update a error occurred and i couldn't start it again. After resetting the harddrive and reinstalling the OS it worked again. And now there are some games i would like to play that require 10.9 and im wondering how i should do it to not fail.

I would like to have an access to the hard drives from any computers and I would also like to use them with my PS3(that is main issue). I know my question maybe not seem so clear but I would like to discuss the subject because we will in fact be moving together this summer and I would like to setup everything when we arrive.
Apple this week is equipping developers with a new beta of Mac OS X 10.6.2, the second maintenance and security update to the company's new Snow Leopard operating system that will perform upgrades to nearly 150 components. The latest beta, labeled Mac OS X 10.6.2 build 10C535, comes one week after the Mac maker issued build 10C531 to address issues with Snow Leopard's Dock, ColorSync, QuartzCore and graphic driver components. This week, Apple has asked developers to continue to provide feedback on graphics drivers while also tasking them with focusing their evaluation efforts on TrackPad preferences and the ability to create virtual machines, people familiar with the matter say.
As was the case with last week's beta, documentation accompanying build 10C535 reportedly lists no known issues. And while Apple has temporarily ceased its practice of providing a running list of bug fixes that will come baked into the impending release, it did identify 148 components that have seen tweaks. Among those components are AppleBacklight, Battery Menu, Dictionary, Expose, FileSync, Family Controls, Fonts, Front Row, HFS, Inkwell, iPhoto, MobileMe, OpenCL, Parental Controls, QuickTime, Screen Sharing, Spell Checker, Spotlight, Time Machine, and USB. also, their all .avi video's. and i'm really confused! also, quicktime isn't letting me play .avi videos for some reason! and vlc won't download for me. and i'll put them on a USB but they wont download on my computer!
My Macbook Pro would not boot into Lion boots into bootcamp no problem, with Lion it tries than the MBP shuts down, so I decided to try and clean install Lion, I tired both with internet recovery and with a bootable DVD I made with the Install.dmg file. Both methods gets to the end where I get an error saying cant install additional components.
I have a 13 inch Aluminum Late 2008 MacBook. Processor 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53). Currently I have a 160 GB SATA disk as my hard drive a d 4 GB of memory. (Is it time to upgrade or what?) I recently bought a Western Digital 1 TB internal hard drive to replace my exisiting internal hard drive. I spent a lot of time last night trying to first- connect this new hard drive to my computer so that I can then clone the existing hard drive and then hoping that I would get that done so I could install the new hard drive. No such luck.Â
My current hard drive is partitioned as follows:Â

When I was partitioning the new drive I did so as follows:Â

Format: MS-DOS (FAT) --- This was the only option that I was given that I thought would work. I did not have the option of "Windows NT File System (NTFS) to choose from. Question # 1: is that going to be a problem? I only run 1 program on Windows and that is the only reason I have BOOTCAMP on there at all. However, I do HAVE to have that program. Like I said it didn't give me the option to choose Windows so I didn't know where to go with this. Any help with that would be awesome.
Size: 26.34 GB (I just used the same size that was current, or close to it.) I connected the Western Digital 1 TB through an external device, partitioned it as stated above, and then used Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the drives. The first one went through fine. (It took 2 hours and I went to bed before it finished.) This morning I woke to see that it had gone through well. I then started the process with the BOOTCAMP drives. However, before I started it gave me errors stating that I wouldn't be able to run Windows off of the Cloned BOOTCAMP drive. Question #2: Is it because of the Format type I chose when partitioning?

using my early 2006 iMac with an Intel Core Duo processor. I have read several guides online on how to access the processor (taking apart the case, etc), and I am confident I am capable of undertaking the task. After reading this guide I feel like I will be able to do it myself (with the help of my electrical/mechanical engineering friend (still hasn't decided his major yet! I'm a physics student, so I should be capable as well, ha! Anyways as you can see, that guide gives very little information as to what CPUs can be used. I looked up the processor that they used in the guide (the T5600) and all of the results came up for a mobile processor. I have heard in the past that most of Apple's desktops contained "laptop grade" hardware, so it would make sense if it contained mobile components.
I did a clean reinstall using a USB, now its saying "the additional components needed to install mac os x cant be found" what do I do? I wiped my whole computer!
I'm trying to do a restore of my lion 10.7.3 over the internet and I'm getting this message. Can't download the additional components needed to install Mac OS X, anyone have any ideas on how to fix this
I've been using Compressor 4 for some time and have been converting .MOV files into >WMV files. When I selected an output source the Quicktime Export Components always showed up at the bottom of the list. I would select it and then be able to START BATCH. Now, it's no longer there. Instead, the word CUSTOM is there, instead, which I can't click on at all.
I've always had and used Flip4Mac and even upgraded but still the option to select Quicktime Export Components is missing entirely. I've rebooted the program and just can't get it back.Â
I use 1password and it requires me to put in my password every time. It gives me the option to remember the PW in the keychain, but when I select that it gives me a serious sounding warning that basically says it is not safe to do it the keychain is not properly secured which by default it is not. How do I secure it so I can safely save my 1password PW?
I am tidying my HD prior to upgrading to SL and have just realised I have 2 library folders one on the HD (21gB) another in my user account (10gB). Do I need them both and if not which one can I safely trash?
Just installed CS5 and Lightroom 3. What's the best (cleanest) way to delete my CS4 applications? I assume there's stuff in the Application Support folders that I should get rid of, but I'm not sure what in there I shouldn't delete.
I'm new to Apple. I have an iMac (fairly recent) - beats me if it is an "Intel" or a "PPC" .I have my camera attached via a cable and I want to disconnect safely.
I need to download some other software made by some small companies or individuals, that is not available on the app store, and is not digitally signed. It is not free (price), and is not open source (so I cannot determine all the things it does).If I install the software in a different user account on my mac, will the software still be able to access files in any of my other user accounts ?To install the software it asks for the administrator password.
The software is widely used within a niche market, and so far no one has reported any complaints. But at the same time it is a niche market, and if there is a practice I can follow to safely use this software and not compromise my mac, then I would like to do that.
