Feb 4, 2008I recently bought a replacement keyboard on ebay for my MBP and just installed it. It's been about a week, and just today, I noticed the capslock key doesn't work.. I'm not sure if it has been this way, or if it recently just stopped. The light doesn't come on at all.
I was curious if this was a common problem? If not, is their anything I can do as a substitute for caps lock? Another key perhaps? Or, a button on the task bar or something?

Feb 2, 2012I have a Mac Pro that is running OD to create users. My problem is that the users that I have to give macs to, need rights on their machines to install programs because of all of the development software that these individuals need. I don't want them to be able to make a local user so that they cant unbind these machines from the OD server.
They still need access to terminal. I don't want them to be able to boot into the recovery partition or terminal to get super user rights (thus changing passwords or adding/deleting users). I have restricted their rights to access "Users & Groups" through OD Policies but that's about all I have done.

Mar 13, 2012I lock the screen & sleep the system when I go out (Sys prefs > Security & privacy > require password immediately after sleep or screen saver) -- get back and click to wake .. From that moment the keyboard (and sometimes the mouse too) responds very very slowly - takes about 30 secs even to enter my password to login. What happens next varies. Sometimes the keyboard recovers in a matter of seconds and returns to normal function. Other times it actually gets worse and might even get to the point where I can't even select menu items with the mouse. In the latter case restarting the system fixes it.

May 31, 2012I've setup my server and enrolled a few devices. Everything works fine if I'm in the same LAN but as soon as I tether my laptop to my cell service and try to issue the remote lock nothing happens till the laptop is back on the network and it gets the lock request. I have changed the hostname of the lion server a few times if that broke something. Also the server is behind a NAT so do ports need to be forwarded?
