Feb 8, 2012i tried to install snow leopard on my computer, but then found out it was only a one user disk and had already been used, so i started it back up on the hardrive and now it wont go past the white loading screen with the apple logo and then just shuts down. ive tried restarting in safe mode but thats about all i know how to do.

Jun 26, 2014I have a MacBook Pro from 2010 I believe with iOS Maverick installed. (MacKeeper is also on there, which I just found out is apparently malware)
So three days ago I was watching Netflix, the image froze, but the audio kept going. Figured my internet was slow, so I waited a little, nothing happened. pressed escape to leave the full screen mode, but nothing happened. None of the keys would do anything, not even the sound or brightness keys. So I did a force shut down by holding down the power button.
I waited a little, then decided to turn it back on. Start up sound played, white screen with grey apple logo and loading gear appeared together with a grey loading bar. I figured that this meant it had to repair something. But after about a minute or two it just went to a black screen/ shut down. I left it off for a day, tried it again, same thing. Next day I tried booting it up while holding the shift key to do the safe boot (I knew it wouldn't work since I already had the grey loading bar anyways), same thing happened.

I put Windows Xp Prof on and have been only useing that... about 4 days ago i started useing Mac then just the other day i went to go on to mac and it was at the Apple loading screen then it shut down and it does this every time i try to go on to mac... it has done this with Windows also and i just reboot camp it but this time i dont know what to do.... can any one help?

I'd tried many ways, resetting the PRAM, SMC, repairing the disk and permission, analyzing hardware, repairing fsck files.

Jan 23, 2009The computer is stuck on the apple screen with the spinning wheel. I can manage to boot up in safe mode but that is it. This arose from an apple security software download recently and when the machine went to reboot it could not. Now on a normal boot up it just sits on the grey screen with the spinning wheel for hours (if let). I have booted up in safe mode and removed anything from the Accounts that was other than the iTunes helper - rebooted - nothing
I have attempted an SMC and PRAM - again on reboot - nothing. I have also started in option mode but there are only two symbols that I can use one is a circular arrow, which does nothing when clicked and the other is a right pointing arrow that appears to attempt to launch OS X, to no avail. I have also tried the option of rebooting with the install disk in the drive and holding down the C key - again nothing.

Sep 13, 2010Last night I was watching some videos on my computer and noticed that the fans were spinning, because it was pretty hot. Next thing I know the laptop just shut off. I didn't think to much of it because I just assumed the battery dided and needed to be recharged.
Well now I go to restart my Laptop and it will not turn on even with the laptop plugged in. Any ideas on what could be wrong? Is my laptop dead, what happened?

Mar 6, 2010I have an aluminum macbook with a 2.4Ghz core 2 duo processor. I am the second owner, but I have owned it for about a year and taken good care of it. The other day I was browsing the internet internet and my macbook just turned off. It didnt give any warning or go through a shutdown sequence, it cut the power and turned off all of a sudden. I should tell you that it has done this once before, about a week ago. However, in that case I was able to turn it right back on without any issues. Now, on the other hand, I cannot get it to do anything. No chime, no gray screen. All that happens is the little white light on the lower right side flashes for a brief second. There is no screen activity, and as far as I can tell by holding my ear up to the hard drive it does not start to spin at all. I have attempted to reset the pram and smc, but I have no idea if it is resetting. It was not hot at all when it shut down, it had been sleeping and I had only just started using it. It was still cool to the touch on the case. Does anybody have any idea what could be causing this? I do not have the money to replace the logic board, so I am hoping it is something else.

Jan 8, 2010I know this is kind of off topic and the logo does not make the product any different but I found it a little odd that Apple decided to not to put their logo on the remote. It's made out of aluminum and has enough space on the back for a logo to be present. Apple put's their logo on everything that has enough space for one. The old remote had it, mouse, keyboard, MacBook/MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Pro, iPod's, iPhone, docks, and gift cards all have it. Their earphones don't have it because they are to small to put a logo without making them look stupid. I wonder what Jonathan Ive and Jobs were thinking when they decided to not put the logo. The back of the remote almost seems bare without it.

Feb 19, 2009Disk Utility in OS X gave me a Invalid key length after checking Catalog file, so I restarted to OS X Install DVD. It did the same thing on the OS X Install DVD. I went to Startup Disk, changed it back to the Mac OS X on Macintosh HD option - so I could go in and back my stuff up. It just goes to apple logo, does the spin thing at the bottom, and goes black. I can't even boot from DVD anymore.
