I have connected my macbook pro to my HDTV and I only see the default cosmos screensaver instead of the content on my laptop screen.

Just upgraded to 10.6 Snow Leopard. Awesome OS, but one thing bugs me: Since upgrading, whenever I activate my screensaver the default Flurry one appears for about 2 or 3 seconds, before immediately taking me to my locked screen window. I don't touch the mouse or keyboard or anything, it just refuses to show the screensaver for more than a couple seconds. I hit esc and it works for a bit longer, but soon enough displays the login window again. Has anyone had this problem after upgrading? It has been fine before (10.4, 10.5...up until now).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI set the screensaver to a folder on main drive. All files are jpg. it works for a while then after a few times - exit the screensaver then back to the screensaver - it will go to the default settings.

Has anyone else with a new MacBook Pro with Retina display notice a slight uneven yellow tint to their screen? On my screen it appears starting about midway down the screen and is more noticable on the left hand side. It is very faint, but enough to make me notice it when scrolling through webpages and the such. I am wondering if maybe this is the same glue drying issue with the iPhones that just came off the production line?
Also, when trying to run WebGL content in Safari (haven't tried it in a different browser yet), my MBP completely hard freezes and requires a power cycle to get it running again.

I tried uploading pictures with my s.card and then I plugged in my back up storage disk to transfer pictures and then my computer stopped working as if it was overloaded or something.... I tried forcing quit but that didn't help any. So I just shut it down in hopes that when it restarted it would work but now when it restarts the login screen comes up and after I type my password it just stays on snow leopard default screen(purple sky) and stays there.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI set her password and set the preferences to require a password to log in.Now, if she's not at the computer a while the screensaver kicks on, and after 30 minutes it kicks the logged in profile back out to the login screen. The problem is the screensaver never resumes?Even if I set the S.C to 3 minutes, manually log out to the login screen it'll sit there and show that (never go to screensaver or powersave mode for the monitor).

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen selecting the iTunes Artwork screensaver and running "Test", the screen is Black or Blank (no Artwork). I left it running for over and hour and the artwork never appeared. I have tons of artwork in my iTunes library and checked it after launching iTunes. The preview window for the screensaver is also blank and does *not* say "Your iTunes library does not contain any songs with artwork".
- Consolidating / Rebuilding Library from iTunes. Then trying the screensaver
- Launching iTunes while holding "Option" key. Selecting the correct ~/Music/iTunes library again, then trying the screensaver
- Deleting the ~/iTunes/Album Artwork folder. Launching iTunes again. Downloading some album art. Trying the screensaver.

I've got a 17" MacBook Pro on OSX 10.5.7 and a 15" TiBook on OSX 10.4.11.
Can I connect the TiBook to the MacBook Pro in such a way that I can use it to extend the screen? IE: main window on MBP and menus etc on Ti? If so how? Is it easy to switch back and forth on the Ti so I can get back to it's own screen easily?
Whenever I move my macbook on my desk with the lid open, or when I open the lid, or when I close the lid, my screen flickers to black and then back open many times. Is this a weak connection some where? Sometimes the screen will stay black until I move the lid a little bit. I bought it refurbished from Apple this spring. I do not have applecare.

I wanted to plug it in to my bubble emac, but what cable am i looking for? and is it cheap? I have sound comming from it when you turn it on, and when u use the volume keys but thats it. I then tried to force quite pages and it wouldn't work so I had to force shut down. It then would not turn fully on and was on the grey screen for a long period of time. It eventually came back to homepage after about 30 minutes but did not fully load. It now wont go past grey screen and has a bar at the bottom.

I have a macbook and a screen plugget to it. Now I use just the new screen and don't use the macbook one. But every time I turn the mac on the macbook screen turns on, and I have to decrease the brightness manually every time. (cause it's a waste of energy to keep it on if I don't use it). So I'd like to know to set the screen brightness to 0 by default, so I don't have to turn the brightness down every time.

I want to reset the default ambient brightness, because it stopped changing by itself after I manually changed the brightness with the keyboard. I made sure that ambient light changing was enabled in the System Preferences. From past experience, I think that deleting the preferences.plist file will do the trick, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions?

The menus and interfaces are absolutely stunning and the customization of them are endless. So now I have this 27in LED iMac with greater than 1080p Resolution and these Apps look great but I want the content to look as good as the menus. Aside from the iTunes pseudo (low frame rate) HD, does anyone have any suggestions of a resource for "stunning" video content to match my beautiful 27in screen. It sure would have been nice to have a Blu Ray option. Hopefully the "bag of hurt" will soon be sitting on my desk killing me with pain.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 2008 MacBook and it was working perfectly fine until one day I was using it and the screen instantly faded to black. I first thought my battery power had shut off, so then I closed the laptop but that little light on right front side was still blinking meaning the computer was still on. I then shut down the computer and turned it back on but as it started the screen was its normal brightness for about 3 seconds then it quickly went black again. If I shine a light on the screen I can barely make out what it shows, which is my normal screen when I open up the laptop. Did my screen somehow break from overuse or does have to do with the battery?

I'm thinking of getting a MBP 13'', together with an external display. That way I get the portability of a MBP 13'' while maintaining an in-house big external display and 400$ in my wallet, only losing a bit of processor power (which is found negligible by most users).
My question has to do with resolution. MBP 13'''s resolution is 1280 by 800, right? My question is: if I buy a display with higher resolution, will I be able to enjoy that resolution? Or no matter how big my external display's resolution is, will I always be stuck with 1280*800?

I dried it all with a towel and it works perfectly. But, the screen is completely ruined. It is smudgy and sticky, and blurry with milk. I think using a towel is the worst thing I could have done. What can I use to cleanse my screen of this uncomfortable smudge?
