Why are colors different on my computer display from my iPhone and other platforms? Is there a way to get accurate colors on my MacBook screen? Usually pictures viewed on my laptop screen are more colorful and vivid than on my iPhone and iPad. iPad 2 isn't retina of course, but my iPhone 4 is, so I don't get why it's not as colorful...

my mid-2012 Macbook Pro Retina laptop is having Retina screen problems at startup, bootup and wakeup modes. The main failure mode is, during reboot or wakeup the laptop's Retina display screen does not work, a blank Retina screen results, and the keyboard does not light up. Also, at random times the laptop will just crash and self reboot, but then during reboot the Retina screen does not work but the computer reboots. Additionally, this laptop, compared to my work's PC laptops is lightly used, mostly for web browsing, photo viewing and email. At first this problem was only intermittent, but now the Retina displace screen failure mode has become a chronic repeating failure mode and is happening almost everyday and stays in this Retina display failure mode for a longer period of time. Additionally, this 2012 Macbook Pro Retina laptop had a failed graphics card within its first 4 months of light use, the failed graphics card had to be replaced.

I recently hooked my mac laptop to a display projector, and now when I log off or shut down the screen resolution reverts to a stretched view. I reset it to 1280x800 in System Preferences-Display, but it keeps changing back. I'm running OSX 10.5.8

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an early 2008 MBP 15" (I think detailed specs are in my signature) and recently (over the last week or so) when I move my laptop display up and down (physically), the screen has this thing where it gets inverted and what not. It is very annoying, and I have been having to constantly fiddle with it everytime I move my laptop around (I use it both as a desktop and as a laptop, so this happens a lot). I recently switched to using it clamshell mode as a means of avoiding this in desktop mode, but occasionally I'll still need to move it around places and what not. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem before, or has any ideas as to what might be a better solution. I would take it in for repair, but I don't really have 300+ dollars to spend on a repair right now. I think it might be related to the data cable connection to the display of the computer, since it is rather intermitment, and requires fiddling for the screen to not be inverted/messed up/displaying black lines, etc. I can post more details about it, pictures or something if that would help any of you geniuses out there as well.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a macbook pro and I want to be able to hook it up to my TV and close the laptop lid. Every time I close the lid, the TV goes black no matter what settings I change! I'm not sure if the laptop is going to sleep, or just disconnecting the TV as a display.
I've tried something called Caffeine, but it didn't do a thing.

My external display (HP w2207) seems to conflict with my MacBook Pro (15 inch Retina display, early 2013) since I upgraded MacBook OS to 10.9.4.The external display works at initial boot of Mac but does not work after OS sleeps and I attempt to awaken, and while the external display is not waking, the Retina display flashes through different screen views, which only partially reflect my normal screen, or do not reflect my normal screen at all.

I have a Mac Pro and a MacBook Pro. With the Mac Pro I have just the one screen - used to have two, but now just the one as I rarely need it. However, for a job I'm doing at the moment, it would be handy to have the use of two screens. I've got a 17" MacBook Pro on OSX 10.5.7 and a 15" TiBook on OSX 10.4.11.
Can I connect the TiBook to the MacBook Pro in such a way that I can use it to extend the screen? IE: main window on MBP and menus etc on Ti? If so how? Is it easy to switch back and forth on the Ti so I can get back to it's own screen easily?
Whenever I move my macbook on my desk with the lid open, or when I open the lid, or when I close the lid, my screen flickers to black and then back open many times. Is this a weak connection some where? Sometimes the screen will stay black until I move the lid a little bit. I bought it refurbished from Apple this spring. I do not have applecare.

I wanted to plug it in to my bubble emac, but what cable am i looking for? and is it cheap? I have sound comming from it when you turn it on, and when u use the volume keys but thats it. I then tried to force quite pages and it wouldn't work so I had to force shut down. It then would not turn fully on and was on the grey screen for a long period of time. It eventually came back to homepage after about 30 minutes but did not fully load. It now wont go past grey screen and has a bar at the bottom.

I first thought my battery power had shut off, so then I closed the laptop but that little light on right front side was still blinking meaning the computer was still on. I then shut down the computer and turned it back on but as it started the screen was its normal brightness for about 3 seconds then it quickly went black again. If I shine a light on the screen I can barely make out what it shows, which is my normal screen when I open up the laptop. Did my screen somehow break from overuse or does have to do with the battery?

The laptop has VGA and DVI inputs but not the small Apple thingy.
I really want to replace my PC with an iMac. The only thing holding me back is my wife's HP Laptop that only has VGA out. She connects it to our 24" Dell LCD when she works at home.

I see that Apple sells a displayport to VGA connector but, as I understand it, this only works for converting a displayport signal into VGA not the other way around.

I dropped a glass of milk on my MacBook Pro yesterday, I was so sad. The milk landed all around, keyboard, trackpad, screen. I dried it all with a towel and it works perfectly. But, the screen is completely ruined. It is smudgy and sticky, and blurry with milk. I think using a towel is the worst thing I could have done. What can I use to cleanse my screen of this uncomfortable smudge?

After connecting an external screen I can go to the first opening screen but the cursor won’t move. I tried to use the “Command,” “Option” and “Esc” keys on the keyboard at the same time to bring up the “Force Quit Applications” window but it doesn't work. After restarting I'm back at the same screen, still frozen.
