So, I was searching for OS X 10.6.3 update because someone had problems installing the one which came with Software Update (said after downloading that can't be expended) so when I opened Apple - Downloads there was no OS X 10.6.3! Only 10.6.2 and some other updates but no 10.6.3! So, have anyone else had issues installing it? Can anyone else find it from Apple's site anymore?

What has been released to install as a security update? I seem to be clicking on one web link which takes me to another and nothing to actually install. Typical Apple. Really wish I hadn't bought this MacCrap Air - I do miss my PC.

I have problems since applying the latest security Update 2009-001 and Java 10.5 Update 3, I have 10.5.6 on the new unibody 2.4ghz and have completely lost the ability to connect to my wireless access point which is an apple airport extreme base station.
I can sometimes se the base station but cannot connect to it and sometimes cannot see it at all. I have three other apple computers at home all less then a year old running the same build of 10.5.6 but have not updated them and they all are fine.
This one was perfect untill I applied the update.
The machine I am having problems with is partitioned with windows 7 beta on it which has no problems connecting to the base station, which indicates that its not a hardware problem but more then likely the update which is causing the problem.
Is there a way to uninstall the last update or delete it? Any one with a similar problem or know how I can fix it, I have googled but cannot seem to find anyone with similar problems.

My problem is that when i try to update java to version 6 it never shows up on software update. when i go to the java website it says to do it via software update. Because of this i haven't been able to play runescape because it runs on java 6 but i only have java 5.0. So why doesn't java 6 show up when i search for new software on software update? Is it even possible for my mac to run java 6?

i cannot get the latest update on my macbook pro, the software update is "Java OS X 2012-003".When i attempt, it says "The update could not be expanded, and may have been corrupted during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs".I do run Java, so i would really like this update.I did recently install a parallel program and installed Windows 7 64-bit, im not really sure if this matters but since the installations it's the first time i haven't been successful updating my software.Software updates are available for your computer.Do you want to install them? You can continue to use your computer during the installation. You don't need to restart it when the installation is complete. Note: Use of this software is subject to the original Software License Agreement(s) that accompanied the software being updated.A list of Apple SLAs may be found here: url....
Basically the Software Update removes the most common variants of the Flashback malware. This update also configures the Java web plug-in to disable the automatic execution of Java applets.Users may re-enable automatic execution of Java applets using the Java Preferences application. If the Java web plug-in detects that no applets have been run for an extended period of time it will again disable Java applets. This update is recommended for all Mac users with Java Installed. url...

I'm operating on a MacBook Air that i recently updated to OS X 10.9.2. Along with the update, Java 7 was installed. I need to have Java 6 Update 20 installed to use some programs on this computer for work. I've gotten the files to install that update, but when I attempt to do so I receive a message stating that I cannot install on my disk. A newer version is already installed.Â
I've gone into finder > Go to Folder and deleted the Java folder after uninstalling java in the first place. This has not fixed my issue.

I have tried software update, I've tried downloading the update and installing it manually... no matter what I do, my machine is always running 1.5 when I need 1.6.
Code:
java -version
java version "1.5.0_20"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_20-b02-315)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_20-141, mixed mode, sharing)
How can I get my machine to find the 1.6 version and use it permanently?

I'm running an intel iMac Core 2 Duo from a few months back. I installed the most recent security update for Mac OS X Leopard and after the reboot the computer worked fine for 2 more boots.
(Note: during these boots I noticed that often my computer would get the spinning rainbow wheel for a long time before it went away. It happened at apparently no prompting.)
After those I installed the game City of Heroes on my macintosh and then attempted to install the new safari and Java update (I haven't updated in a while.)
I was told the Java update and safari update failed to install. I rebooted to try again and attempted to install again. Both failed.
I gave up and started playing CoH. About 2 hours after playing my game froze. I was running ventrillo at the same time and was able to talk on that.
After many failed tries to use command + option + escape I decided to hold down the power button to reboot my computer. The first attempt yielded a solid blue screen.
The second attempt the computer started fully. Stupidly I assumed the problem was fixed and didn't backup software and files.
I tried to run City of Heroes again and the app would not even show up in dock. It simply would not run. All other apps seemed to work fine.
I rebooted again and this time I got another blue screen. Again, but this time I got the grey screen with the apple symbol and the spinning wheel. I've never gotten past this screen again.
I have boot camp so I tried to boot into windows. Windows booting was successful. After that I rebooted and attempted to use the advice from this thread for help: [URl] I tried the single user mode fix first. I got the message:
/dev/rdisk0s2
Root file system
Checking Journaled HFS Plus volume
Checking Extents Overflow file.
Checking Catalog file.
Incorrect block count for file temp3271201
(it should be 8 instead of 0)
Keys out of order
(4, 966)
Rebuilding Catalog B-Tree.
The volume Ben's Computer could not be repaired.
FILE SYSTEM WAS MODIFIED
After that I tried to reset PRAM. Still the grey apple with the spinning wheel. I tried the single user start up again. Again failed.
After that I tried booting into safe mode. Using these steps: [URL] Unfortunately, NONE of these ways would let me boot into safe mode. Both left me at the same grey apple icon and spinning grey wheel.
I would appreciate help SO much. Even if the only fix is to get a new computer any advice would help me. If I need to somehow reformat or such then if anyone might know how I could backup my settings and applications with this impediment.

As above really! Its really frustrating. It bounces in the dock as though it is about to start. It then brings up a box that asks if I would like to report it to Apple, which naturally I do.Â
My friend suggested uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its no good!Â
Its ever since the update to Java. Anyone else had similar problems?Â

I've been having some troubles, all of which occurred after installing Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 7. Here are two I've found so far:Â
1. Terminal takes quite a long time to open new tabs.Â
2. Quicksilver hangs (and eventually crashes) when I try to type any type of text to search.Â
When the applications hang, no keyboard input is accepted in any application, though it is possible to use the mouse to move windows. how to revert back to Update 6?

When I attempt the update, I get the following error:"The Update "Java for OS X 2012-003" can't be installed. The update could not be expanded, and may have been corrupted during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs." This is on a new Mac Mini (purchased in April 2012) that has been kept updated with all other software updates. I have tried to do this update several times over the last several days with the same error. The computer has been powered off/restarted several times, no effect.I have checked for the Flashback malware, not on my system.
