I've searched the forum for answers and have only found a few dating back to 2006. Recently I opened a Word document attachment on my MAC sent from a PC user. Now, I am being asked to enable/disable macros when I use WORD. I sent out an attachment that I created and PCs are stating that a virus is detected: W97m.Thus.
View 1 RepliesSo for the longest time my files in Word 2004 for MAC have had MACRO saved within them. This doesn't really cause any problem for me on my system but when I try to email any word files to anyone it just wont work. The file will be blocked by my hotmail account, and if I use another account that allows me to send it it usually won't work right on the other person's computer. When I try to make them .RTF files... they usually don't display right for other Word users, although they look fine to me, especially when they have some elements like shapes and text boxes within them.
Does anyone know HOW I can get these things to stop saving in every single word file I make? This wasn't always this way.... I think I just accidentally recorded a macro a while back, without knowing what they were or what the consequences might be.
Again, I just need to disable ALL macros. If you know how to do this I'd be greatful if you could share with me.
how to embed an image with a link, or embed a Microsoft Word document with a hyperlink built within the document -- not as an attachment into my email -- but where it shows as the email content when opened! Does ANYONE know the secret? Can it be done, or not? My PC clients do it all the time easily. Then I want to be able to send the embedded image/document (not as an attachment, but visable within the email when opened) to many email contacts at once, BUT the individuals receiving them DO NOT SEE the other email contacts.

I have a Mac OS X version 10.5.7 i am working on Word 2008 for Mac, version 12.0.1 (080305).
My problem, i created one text box in a document, somehow 2 more appeared. I made the mistake of thinking that to delete the extra text boxes, i simply highlight them and delete them. Silly stupid me, nothing that simple exists and i have wasted an hour trying to figure it out. The help button does squat, barely gives you any info on a text box much less trying to delete it. Does anyone know how to delete a text box in a word document?
It seems that every word doc I create has a self generated macro virus embedded in it and when I go to email it as an attachment GMAIL doesn't allow it to be attached.
I also get the warning window about disabling Macros when ever I go to open a word doc on my MacBook Pro.
How do i alleviate this virus from existing docs without destroying content and also rid my laptop of future issues with this virus.
some of my Word documents are infected with a macro virus. I'm not sure how many are infected, although I know it's not all Word docs. I'm running Office 2004 for Mac Student and Teacher Edition. How can I fix this? I'd like to prevent other docs from also becoming infected. I have no anti-virus installed and I'm still running Tiger 10.4.11 (hoping Apple releases Snow Leopard soon so I can finally upgrade).
View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter some trouble with sending word documents trough Entourage I discovered that my boss' Macbook with OS x 10.4 and Word 97 has a W97.Marker virus problem. Identified this to [URL] and ClamXav.
Every new word document I create on this computer will be created with the Markervirus in the document as a default. I thought this was impossible since supposedly the Marker virus was meant to be PC only thing.
Furthermore, although this problem started exactly two weeks ago ClamXav is identifying the virus in a large number of older files as well. Can the Marker really infect 'dormant' files that are not in use? And moreover, is there a way to 'cleanse' the older infected word documents?
I made my resume in Word on my Mac (Microsoft Office 06) and when I opened it on a PC with vista it looks terrible. All the formatting is off and the fonts are different.

When I choose "save as" >pdf, I get the error that the header and footer are outside the printable margins... if I continue, it doesn't just cut off the footer, it cuts off about an inch an a half of the document.
I've reset the margins in word to accommodate the entire thing, but it still cuts it off in pdf format. I've searched for other answers, but it seems that people have more printing issues, not just saving issues.

I'm running Mac OS X Snow Leopard. I was instructed to go to the "Preferences" folder and delete com.Microsoft.Word.plist. When I delete that file, MS Word starts working again for about a couple minutes and then goes back to not working again. How can I fix this? View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using Word for Mac on my Macbook Pro with Lion. Everytime I open a particular document in Word, the view shows Markups, which is really distracting. I can go to View, and get rid of the markup view, but then it shows up again each time I open the document.
Also, each time I open Word, every document I have worked on in the last few months opens, too. I close each document individually, using File - Close, which I thought would take care of it. But it doesn't, and all these documents open, instead of just the one document I want open.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a document with lot of text inside it. There are also several links. I want to be able to open all links of the document to safari tabs. The only way I have to do it 'till now is to manually copy paste each link from word pages to safari tabs. Is there any way to automate this repetitive task? Either by selecting all links of word and somehow opening them, or using osx automator? I 've not used automator before, I do not know if this task can be automated. Can you please help me to make the whole task faster and simpler?
