I switched to a MacBook Pro 3 months ago from using WXP with Outlook 2003.
I need to be able to hold my outgoing mail rather then sending it immediately. In Outlook I could set it to stay in the outbox until I was ready to send it.
I'd also like to have the "capitalize the first word of each sentence" feature that Word edit would do in Outlook.
I am presuming neither of these features are in iMail so my question is: Do I need to buy Outlook for Mac or Office for Mac to get these 2 features?
I have experienced some problems with my email account recently which I think it is a spam attack. I've been receiving lots of spam messages and got my all messages in my inbox deleted. Sent items luckily are still there.
I wonder if there is anyway that iMail keeps copies of incoming messages so I can restore them. I would appreciate if anyone can tell me how to do that if its available.
I have recently given up on anything PC and moved to Mac. Mostly I am very happy with my decision but a couple of things niggle me and I don't seem to be able to change them.
In imail when delete an email from any of my mail accounts or the inbox, imail automatically selects the next newest email. I would like it to select the next oldest email. Is there anyway of changing this?
I know this is quite petty! but I'm just used to it working that way in outlook and keep deleting email I want to keep.

Whenever I delete an email using iMail, it doesn't delete from my gmail account when I would just use the regular browser to check my mail. Is there a way to delete emails both off of iMail AND from Gmail so it does not appear when using a browser to check my mail or on another computer?
I recently took a 7200rpm 1TB Barracuda drive and put it in a Firewire/USB enclosure. The drive itself works great however... Everytime I plug either the USB or Firewire cable into my macbook... My Airport goes whacky and loses connection with my router. The Drive doesn't even have to be on. The drive shows up and works fine... just no wifi access. At first I thought there was a conflict with the firewire port but it does this with USB too (with the drive turned off even). I also have a couple of 2.5" drives powered by USB only which don't cause this behavior.
I wonder what's up? Now... in the spirit of "full disclosure", I did do a jumper change on this barracuda drive to increase burst speed. This drive came out of a vista machine that way and worked just fine. Keep in mind though, this drive doesn't have to even be powered on to cause the Airport conflict.
I've been using Safari 5 as my main browser and everything has been great. Yesterday I installed iWork 09 on my computer, and now Safari crashes every two or three minutes for me now. It'll crash randomly, and I'm upset because I don't want to have to use Firefox How can I re-install Safari?
My brother's got an early 2008 MacBook Pro 17'' running on OSX 10.5.8, in his new room he shares the router with some other rooms. When he's connected alone or on the same time than PCs or iPod Touch he doesn't get any problem. But as soon as there's another Mac that tries to connect, both of the Macs start to connect and disconnect immediately and continuously, sometimes popping up messages like "impossible to connect, wait a minute". The router is a Thomson.
does the new MacMini ship with a DVI adapter or not? When you spec it out, the text by the adapter suggests it doesn't come with one already, but then when you get out of the store and go to specs, it says an adapter comes with. What's the deal?
I have a non Intel Power PC, upgraded to Leopard 10.5.8 with the latest iTunes even went as far as buying a new hard drive in hopes of stopping iTunes from constantly "hanging" and displaying the multi colored ball of doom every time I try to play a tune or rename a selection. Even tho' I have a new drive and pointed iTunes to it as the new location for iTunes and have been manually installing tunes I still get the same "hang" or freeze/spinning ball. Has anybody experienced conflicts with Power PC G5 dual 2.0, iTunes and Firewire busses. I have wasted weeks trying to figure this out.
i am trying to send images to a publishers and i have checked they are the correct size before sending them but when they recieve them they have been compressed, is there any way of stopping mail from doing this?
i have checked that it is actually mail doing it by opening the images from my sent box and right enough they are smaller
Whenever I want to mail a Link to an Internet page, I click on "File" and then choose "mail Link to this page". Mail then opens with the Link included and I then email it to whoever I want. Since yesterday however I noticed that I can no longer do this. Whenever I want to mail a Link I get the following message: "An email message cant be created to send the Link because Safari cant find an email application" I tried a restart of the computer, I reset Safari but nothing helps. The problem persists. I checked with Firefox and here I have no problem to mail Links. Only Safari does not seem to be able to recognize that Mail is installed or cannot connect to Mail? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I cannot find my former .mac email aliases - one of which I use for business and is on all my business stationery. I don't want to change it if I don't have to. I don't see it in the list - only the new @me address. It was my understanding that all my aliases would remain intact.
I have iCloud on both my Mac and iPhone4, but one won't communicate with the other and vice versa. Also - I can't get iCloud email to work on either because I can't remember my iCloud Password when prompted for in Mail.
If you fill in the contact form and send a message, it will say if the mail doesn't get though, use the email in the readme but i can't find the readme. I have read it's quite difficult to contact the main guy which is a shame as saft is a great little addition to safari.
I'm using Office 2004: Microsoft Entourage. When I try to send mail, I get an error message that reads: Relaying to <the email address> prohibited by administrator Explanation Email could not be sent
I can receive mail without problems, and reply without problems, but when I try to compose and send a new outgoing email, I cannot find the send button, unless I go to the main tray in mail and click send. The icon does not show up in the toolbar options.
I am very confused as to whether or not I should use the iMail that came with my MacBook.
1) Is it always free? 2) Is it SAFE? Even though I hear people cannot hack or get into Apples I have to ask 3) What type of file does it download the mail as and is it compatible with PC? 4) Is there any impact on the online Gmail account?
iMail is able to download messages just fine in my home network however, when ever I am over a public network, eg library, sb, etc, it doesn't load. I still have access to the mail within iMail but can't download or send anything?
iMail as I have been having issues w/ password prompts. I had found it works better w/ Chrome than Firefox, but am not using either currently due to other issues. I am using Safari. I get the password prompt when trying to send out an email. My Mac is a Macbook Pro mid-2009 model. My primary mail is Google.
