I did not have enough memory and I had already deleted some games in the past to do updates. Well I downloaded Windows XP Home about half a year ago and decided I really did not use it all that much. When I downloaded It i cut the memory in half (1/2 OS X and 1/2 Windows XP) So I went back to my Bootcamp installation papers to see how to properly uninstall Windows. So I did and everything seemed fine the only thing I thought was odd is that it only took like 3 seconds to uninstall so i knew it did not actually uninstall. I did not think much of it cause I could now download the update.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI recently installed the 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate operating system onto my MacBook Pro 13 inch. I have the most basic Macbook Pro 13 inch with nothing fancy added. Whenever I load up the Windows 7 OS on my Macbook, it never utilizes or even realizes that I have the NVIDIA graphics card in my laptop. It instead believes I have some integrated graphics card that cannot even run the most basic of PC games. I know my laptop can run these games because on OSX it runs multiple games with higher requirements than these games I am trying to run on Windows.
Basic question: How do I get bootcamp or whatever else to make Windows 7 realize I have a NVIDIA card and drivers. Sorry if I am coming off as stupid or confusing.
I am Having some issues with Safari (I am using 4.0.5), if I open up a website the screen stays white like it normally does for a sec to load a web page but the loading icon keeps spinning and spinning and spinning....... until I click the "X" stop icon and reload the web page. As soon as I click the reload icon the webpage loads up instantly, it is getting really annoying and would be great if anyone has a fix. This doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen frequently and then be fine for a few web pages and then start up again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedUsed migration assistant to move my Blackbook apps and settings to the Air using a Time Machine backup from my Time Capsule - wirelessly. Two hours later (not terrible) and I'm using my Air with all my apps and setting - fantastic.
Question: My Blackbook also has a Bootcamp partition running Windows - is there a way to take that image and migrate it to my MB Air? I'd rather not have to purchase the Superdrive and re-install/setup the Windows OS on my Air....
My macbook keeps freezing and loading and won't do anything. It just keep giving me the loading icon. Could it be problems with my memory or hard disk? I haven't installed alot of progams just live messenger, skype and those basis stuff, so my hard disk is far from full.

had a bootcamp partition which I eventually ended up removing again with the bootcamp assistant. Now I want to create the bootcamp partition again, and when I start up the assistant, there is a 5gb leftover partition of the old bootcamp it seems. I just can't resize it... I've tried anything as low as resizing it to 10gb to 100gb... both fails.I have more than 200gb free space.I have just run a full defrag with iDefrag I've tried to do fileoptimization with techtool pro v5
I tried using camptune (which only works if you already have a working bootcamp partition, which I dont.
im on a goal to resize my bootcamp partition... im running 10.6.4 with Win7 in Bootcamp... i made a mistake of only making a 80GB partition for windows 7.... now i want to make it bigger, i have read up on a number of methods but most are outdated and users report issues with windows 7 and SL so i'm a lil stuck... this is my idea
I have 120GB unused HDD space atm so could i.. back up my 80GB partition to a DMG with disk utility then delete the old partition making the whole 200GB unallocated space... then use the bootcamp utility to re occupy the space then use disk utilities restore option to restore the image of the 80GB to the new 200GB partition... would this work? if not has anyone got any other methods to use with 10.6.4 SL and Win7?

View 6 Replies View Relatedi have spent roughly half my life (or it just feels like it) deciding between these three notebooks and i know all the advantages, disadvantages, problems, etc but i would love to know how the loading times for various applications vary between the three. Someone here said that the rev b takes about 25% longer to open an application than the macbook. How accurate is this? So basically if anyone can tell me how long any app takes to load on their macbook air or unibody it would be a gr8 help (i know i can live with all of the airs other disadvantages but this hasnt been talked about too much).
btw a ssd is not an option and obviously the macbook is gonna be faster than the air, im just wondering how much faster
About a week ago my Mac started loading webpages very slowly (CNN would take over 5 minutes to load). I have downloaded and occasionally use Firefox and it had the same problem.
I checked my internet connection and everything seems fine, my other computer (its a PC) is connecting just fine and loading webpages at the usual speeds.
I found online some instructions regarding Safari loading webpages slow they involved deleting the cache, and then deleting a few .plist files in the library. This seems to work, but with a day or so the problem comes back. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem?
I just recently got DSL in my home and I am experiencing super slow load times on both Safari and Firefox. I know that is not a problem with the internet, modem, or router becasue my parents PCs and my PS3 all run perfectly on the WiFi connection.
I also recently updated to Snow Leopard on my Macbook.
Have any idea why I can't get my computer back up to speed?
Two days ago I started noticing this annoying problem whenever I wanted to load a page. The page never loads at first, forcing me to press refresh in order to see its content.
I didn't install anything nor changed any configurations.
I called a friend with a Win Vista PC and everything was fine in his computer.
I tried the Safari, Firefox, Chrome and Opera browsers. The problem subsists in every one of them.
My router is a Pirelli DRG A223G and I've never had any problems with it.
I alredy tried switching it off, reseting it, turning off and on my airport, restoring my disk, cleaning the browser's cache and info, etc..
I turn my Macbook ON and then the password screen comes on and I type in my password and it shakes and I have the password written on a piece of paper in front of me when I typed in the password. I don't have the OSX installation disc. IS there a shortcut or a way I can change the admin password or to change the password on my computer.

I'm trying to upgrade to LION to move to iCloud...the folks at the genius bar recommended that I go from 2gb ram to 4. They gave me the website to purchase the memory and told me how to load it. Prior to loading, I shutdown the computer and unplugged it. I then removed the 2 1 gb cards and replaced with 2gb cards. The loading seems to have gone fine, but all I get is a power light on the front of the case and a sound that makes me think it's running....the screen is totallly black though.

I have an infuriating problem with extremely slow loading of extracts on the British Newspaper Archive site and something must have happened to cause it. I have a Macbook Air, was on Snow Leopard, the site always worked fine. When I came back to the site after a few months, the pages took 2 minutes or more to load. However on the similar Australian site, Trove, there is no problem. BNA say no one else has the problem. It happens on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera. I have even had an upgrade to Mountain Lion - the problem continued. I copied everything to a Passport and had the laptop cleared out and upgraded to 10.9.1. The site then worked, but as soon as I migrated my stuff back from Passport, the problem returned. I’ve tried disabling Sophos, had removed Ghostery.

Bought an OEM version to use with bootcamp. Everything works fine up to the point where it is supposed to let me format the partition that bootcamp created. The XP installation just skips right from when I select the C:yatta-yatta/bootcamp partition and starts installing. So obviously the partition is not bootable... Does anyone know if this is because the OEM version of the OS or something else. I tried to reduce the size of the partition because I read a thread about FAT32 not playing well with disc sizes greater than 32Gb. Still didn't work...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to try out Windows 7. During this process though I deleted my winXP partition. When I went to create a new BootCamp partition in The BootCamp SetUp Assisstant, it failed to create the partition on my harddrive.
I was greeted with the error, "BootCamp SetUp assistant failed to yada yada yada, please backup and reformat your harddrive."
So my question is do I really have to reinstall Mac OS X? (I backup with TimeMachine so it won't be a big deal but still thats a very long process.) Do you guys have any tips or anything to get Mac OS X to partition my main HDD?

View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter testing this on two different networks, same problem. For instance, I'll try to go to Google.com, works fine. Then I'll go to gmail.com, wont work. Go to drudgereport.com, go back to gmail.com and it works. This is happening with all websites. Sometimes they'll work, sometimes they wont. When they aren't, if I wait a few minutes, they suddenly work again.
View 7 Replies View RelatedStory: I took my mac out of sleep and found that the trackpad was not functioning. After a little time, I decided just to reboot. I hit the power button and then hit restart, but it could not restart because for some reason, Skype was not closing. Finally, I just decided to force restart by holding power button. I turned computer back on, and it was stuck on the gray loading screen. I waited about 20 minutes and then turned it off.
I've reset PRAM, repaired permissions/disk (from Leopard disk). I finally got past the login screen and got on my desktop. When I clicked on the airport on menu bar, I noticed another problem; Airport Card not installed. I rebooted again, reset PRAM, and found I was back in the same situation again; stuck on loading. I checked system profiler and it recognized my airport card, so that is not dead. I decided to finally archive and reinstall OSX. Now I've been stuck on the "about 10 minute" mark for about an hour now. Thinking of just quitting install and trying to reboot again.
I can log into Hotmail, Gmail and Facebook on my Macbook, using Firefox or Safari, but then that's it. The pages stop loading and I can't do anything like read a message or post a comment. All other websites work, so it's not an Internet connection problem. I've erased cookies, cleaned out my cache, changed my MTU, DNS, etc., but nothing works. I've also scanned for spy software and found nothing, which leads me to believe the problem has to be with my Macbook/operating system.

I have been using my 13" MBP since the 7th of August and since the first day the internet has been slow and it won't load pictures half the time! It will load a little blue question mark instead of the picture! I have three other apple computers and a netbook on wireless (not all at the same time, just to check internet speeds) and they all work perfectly so it isn't the router and it isn't 10.5.8 because I have not installed it!
