MacBook Air :: What Is Application Loading Times

i have spent roughly half my life (or it just feels like it) deciding between these three notebooks and i know all the advantages, disadvantages, problems, etc but i would love to know how the loading times for various applications vary between the three. Someone here said that the rev b takes about 25% longer to open an application than the macbook. How accurate is this? So basically if anyone can tell me how long any app takes to load on their macbook air or unibody it would be a gr8 help (i know i can live with all of the airs other disadvantages but this hasnt been talked about too much).
btw a ssd is not an option and obviously the macbook is gonna be faster than the air, im just wondering how much faster

This problem has just krept up in the last couple of days on my MacPro. A page will load about halfway then just stall and when it finally loads it is in text with no images.

I have this program installed called KeyAccess (or KeyServer). It is used by my college to allow me access to the licenses to a slew of software provided by the school. However, it loads at startup, and I have no idea how to prevent it from doing so. There's no option to configure it not to, I have tried looking for an entry in StartupItems and Login Items of my Accounts preferences. It is located in the Preferences Pane, its not really a standalone program.

I am Having some issues with Safari (I am using 4.0.5), if I open up a website the screen stays white like it normally does for a sec to load a web page but the loading icon keeps spinning and spinning and spinning....... until I click the "X" stop icon and reload the web page. As soon as I click the reload icon the webpage loads up instantly, it is getting really annoying and would be great if anyone has a fix. This doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen frequently and then be fine for a few web pages and then start up again.

So I was on my MacBook and all of a sudden the screen gets some weird lines on it and then freezes. I turn it off and turn it back on and I get a black screen and 3 short beeps and it keeps going. Well I called apple and they said it is a hardware issue. I goggled it and found it is a memory issue (maybe).

I bought a MacBook Pro a few weeks ago about a week after they came out. It's the 13 inch 2.26GHz model. Over the past few weeks, I have noticed it freezing up randomly at times. I have heard that bluetooth keyboards and mouse devices may cause the problem, but I have disabled both and it still freezes up.
About 5 days ago, I ran TechTool Deluxe and it came up that the Video RAM failed, so I restarted, tested again and it didn't show the message again. I don't have that much programs open, probably Microsoft Word, Firefox, iTunes and Safari. I've also tried Disk Utility, nothing. It is getting very annoying and it happens just at random times and it happens about 20 times per day.
If I have to send this in for repair, I will be really disappointed. My first iMac had to be brought in for repair. My iPhone has been in for repair three times and I really am thinking Apple is just failing on me.

I've noticed (actually the past few months, but it never really annoyed me until recently), that my left fan will spin really fast and very loud a few times during the day at random moments. Sometimes I will leave my computer for a few minutes, and it won't be doing anything difficult (just finder, or something not cpu intensive), and it will be blowing like crazy when I come back. These "episodes" last for a few minutes and then return to normal. Activity monitor shows that my cpu is barely being used, so nothing is taxing the system. Weirdly enough, when this happens, istat says the fan is at 0 RPM, yet it is very loud. I cleaned out my fans with a little keyboard vacuum to make sure there was not dust stuck in their, but it still makes those fan noises occasionally. I even did the Apple hardware test, and nothing showed up. I have a late 08 MBP.

I recently noted that after loading a photo DVD onto my MacBook Pro all of the photos had been downloaded into my DOWNLOADS folder and duplicated 4 and 5 times? Instead of the 327 photos on the DVD I ended up with over 800 photos in my DOWNLOADS folder. How did this happen and how do I get rid of the duplicate photos?

I have a new late 2011 MBP purchased about a week ago. Everything was smooth until my trackpad stopped responding to the first tap. Have to tap it two times to click on some thing. Everything else including the gestures with the trackpad seems fine.

MacBook Pro 15" Mid 2010 keeps restarting itself. Often times, I am using iPhoto and it restarts. However it seems to be very random and I cannot pinpoint an exact reason. This is the error report :

I was planning to get Snowey and a SSD at the same time, but the latter had to wait. So far, I�m seeing at least a ten seconds improvement in boot time with Snow Leopard:
17" Macbook pro unibody 2.93 Ghz, 4 GB ram 7200rpm HD
before SL: boot up from 39 to 55 seconds
after SL: boot up time from 30 to 39 seconds
Ok, so there is no interest in this topic.
For me boot time is a rather important criterium.
And I think the fact that SL reduce this with almost 10 seconds is AMAZING.

If you have a Hypermac battery in any capacity what are the actual usage times you get with it then? I'd rather not pay extra for time I don't need but I don't want to buy too little either.
My machine is 2.26 MBP 13" with 8 GB ram and x-25m 160gb so I'm guessing I might get a little more out of the internal battery. Hypermac tells me that the 100w is their most popular model.

Friday night I was on my computer on hulu watching some show. All of a sudden the screen goes black and nothing happens. I turn turning it back on it makes like a beep noise and doesn't start up. After about 3 try's it boots up and everything is ok. So I go back to hulu and I'm watching a show and then it crashes again. Try the same process works but I give up and just shut my computer and say Ill take it to the apple store in the morning. Well It was fine all day Saturday until about 11PM. I try same process and it works eventually. I've made sure that the battery is ok by doing the utilities then power battery condition was good.

I am a new mac user and a sound similar to the "Frog" sound effect keeps playing at random times and with no apparent reason. It just plays and at different times...Sometimes it's every 20 seconds, sometimes more or less. I disabled the sound in System Preferences and it kept playing. I don't know what else to do since i'm new with mac I also reseted the PRAM and it stopped for a while but now it started again. I've noticed that most of the times it sounds when i'm charging the battery, i don't know if it has something to do.

So I got my Core i5 2.53 GHz MacBook Pro back in April when they came out, and it has had some problems. All the the issues have been minor, but still annoying. First of all, I get the scroll wheel all of the time. Way more than a new computer should. Also, I have to press the Caps Lock key several times before it actually comes on. In addition, often times when I open iTunes, it just bounces for a long time until I have no choice but to force quit. After a few attempts it opens, but I feel like it shouldn't do this. Also, when I put headphones in the head phone jack, they don't work right away. Either they don't work at all and I have to pull them out and try again, or it takes several seconds to come on. Again, these are minor issues, but I still don't like it.

i have the macbook model no.A1181.
Its the black macbook that 2.4ghz intel duo core processor and 2gb of memory and 250 gb hard drive the 13.3 screen and it is black with the lepord apps.
Latley i can not to anything at all i have gone and checked everything that needs to be checked and nothing is wrong, But ever since that virus scare about the macs was on the news my my macbook has been 100 times slower then usual. And on top of that i can not even go in any of my apps all the icon does is bounce and it never pops up and wen i look in my force quit it tells me that the app is not responding it happens with everything on the macbook. And i can't even go on the internet at all the moment i got to search for a website it doesn't even come up and again says not responding. I am both a mac and pc user and have grown up on both mac and pc. So i know how to use a mac but i can't not find out what is wrong and i am really worried because i payed 1500 for this.

I've had my Macbook since 2009, and since this morning it's been making a chirping noise, possibly from the optical disk drive, roughly 4 times per second. It stops for about a second every 10 minutes, but other than that it has been repetitively chirping all day. I haven't dropped it or anything like that.

I purchased a Mac Book Pro a year ago.I have been connecting a monitor with HDMI cable but in the past month my monitor screen flickers off then on every few minutes.Eventually it will go blank completely and not come back on.I had thought it was my monitor so I purchased a new one and it still does it. I have connected to my fiends monitors and they do it. Each monitor will act a little different but the end result is the same.My apple warranty just ran out and I suspect its a hardware issue since I can replicate it. [code]

Google and any searches using the address bar in google chrome do not load at all sometimes. I experience this problem only at home and only sometimes. Everything works perfectly in my university labs. It fails on other browsers like Firefox and Safari as well. Strange this is that all the other sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, engadget all load up properly.

I've had my 13" macbook pro (early 2011) for 10 months now and it's always frozen fairly regulary like once a week, but recently i freezes multiple times a day and says all my alpications are not responding and won't let me force quit so my only option is to restart the computer everytime.It seems like the problem mostly occurs whilst browsing the internet, but i have reinstalled both firefox and chrome and still have the same problem.Â
Also I'd like to do a hardware check as my year warenty is almost up but pressing and holding 'd' on start up doesn't work - has this changed?

After upgrading to OS X 10.9.4 (13E28), I found that the Wifi of my MBP retina would suddenly got disconnected, then after a moment, automatically got connected again.... But on and off, this issue happen again -- disconnected, connected.... Â
Really don't know why. This issue did not happen before upgrading to 10.9.4. So consider maybe is the system bug?

My Macbook Pro mid 2009 beeps three times after having change the ram from 2x2(4 Gigs) to 2x4(8Gigs) of RAM. Both new RAM modules do not work either together or by themselves. They do however work with an old RAM module, originally to have been found in my MacBook. What I need to do to make both new RAM modules work?!
