I have seen 4GB of RAM from Crucial for a new MDP 13". Now, when I install it, will I have 6GB or 4GB? The mac comes with 2GB but will I have to get rid of them to install the 4GB? or can I keep them and have 6GB?
Before, I used to use a Tablet PC to "ink" complex math equations and notes. Since Apple does not have a Tablet PC equivalent (I'm aware of modbook), is there an application for Math where I can type equations?
I would like to know if you guys can point me in the right direction. I am currently searching for a mac application that will facilitate the process of learning math. I am about to take college algebra next week. And, I would love to have an app that will help me along to understand math a little better.
I recently noticed I can't do math calculations anymore and Spotlight has trouble finding files that it used to find in seconds. And I've already verified permissions.
Recently, spotlight just stopped calculating math functions and I'm not sure why. When I enter an equation, it doesn't try to solve it, but it still finds files with the numbers included and other hits. It's mostly a minor nuisance, but I have no idea why it even stopped, since everything else seems to work fine.
just started university this year and for my math classes I was wondering if there was some program available which could help me to write down stuff on my Mac instead of taking notes and stuff. I am not looking for a complicated and advanced math program used for research and stuff but just a simple easy to use straightforward program. I have only one math course and its kind of basic so I repeat I am not looking for anything advanced.
I need to be able to write math equations that I can save to a pdf. Pretty much instructions on how to do different problems. I will need graphs, and all the math symbols that are out there. Does anyone know of a program that has this for mac? I need to create equations and the solutions to those equations. (Almost like writing a math book)
I have been having a problem with my office:word '08. My math professor sends out documents with equations and when i open these documents the equations end up all squished up and makes it almost impossible to understand. Is there any solution to this problem?
for last 4 month i have been used macbook pro. at the begin i didn't face any trouble. recently i found that when i ran two or more application at a time my notebook began start hot. it's very scaring for me. what shall i do now. one more thing, i need to use virtual machine here. is it create any problem for macbook pro ???
do you think the new MBA's (hopefully released Oct 14?) will be capable of handling simple modeling / animation / dynamics work? Nothing too fancy, I'm not going to be rendering massive vfx quality stuff.. but maneuverable and not too sluggish.
Is there a simple app, key combo, or a way I can use AppleScript, to turn off my monitor manually (resume on mouse move)? I need something like this for the automatic input switcher on my monitor to work.
I am looking for a simple screensaver for my mac. I need something transparent - so I can still see what is going on on my desktop, but have password lock active.
I found transparent 2.2 which does exactly what I want but there is no way I will give 10 for a screensaver.
One thing I hate about the new 10.6.4 is that the names of Screen shots are a block and a half long... as they include that day and time..fair enough, but many dialog boxes in BB's where I want to post some screen shots trunciate that making finding it a time consuming thing. before it simply said screen shot and a number...anyway I can go back to that method/system that does not require a PHD in computer programing. I have googled it, and there are things about writing 'scripts' etc... (that loses me completely...anyone know an easier method... (and when apple change things like this, why dont they give the option to use the old ways...?
The Quicktime Player that was included with my MAC doesn't work very well for me. When it loads into the browser there is no way to resize it so all you get are tiny movies on my nice big monitor. Also, it doesn't play WMV (it just downloads the file and shows it as a text file). I'm used to WMP playing everything that I needed. Is there a simple movie player that I could use on the MAC?
I do a simple copy and paste, but wanted to know if I can create a customize "Hot Key" on my keyboard that will paste in the word? Lets say the phrase is "Confirmed: ID".
cannot find the solution. Im currently working on a simple graph, i.e. year vs population (bar or pie). I would like to show the actual value as labels of the bars/pies..I know this is very simple in windows but I dont know in mac yet.
Is it possible to drag and drop my iTunes music folder from an external drive directly to a windows laptop (if no, why exactly)? Or do I have to go threw a specific transfer process with the mac? I just want the music files, and album artwork. I have podcasts but I assume there associated with my account so they will just redownload.
This has been asked in other forms, but this is a bit different (I think): I am looking for budgeting software, but not to manage my checking accounts or savings accounts, etc. Really, I just want to plug in numbers for my expenses, credit card totals and interest rates and minimum payments, car payment and total; etc. Then I want it to crank out the best way to pay all of this stuff. Most of what I see are programs that first and foremost tell me what I am spending money on. I already know that. Any simple, straightforward budgeting software along these lines?
In Windows, if you ever want to change the Artist Name, title, genre, etc of a song, all you have to do is right click, go to properties, and there, you can change everything.
On Mac, I haven't been able to find anything that simple! Whenever I want to do that, I have to open it with iTunes, and change them in iTunes, and drag them out!
Is there a simpler solution like the one in Windows?
I love my new mac mini but I miss paint. I used it alot for simple editing, such as resizing an image, cutting in it and maybe add some text.. stuff like that. I cant really find another program that does the same things in a quick and simple way.
also, how the hell do I take a snapshot of the screen when there's no print screen button?
