How do I close a safari window without closing the whole program, and not using control quit?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a subscription to MLBTV. To watch games in HD/higher quality, they have this plug in called NexDef. This plug in is always running. I can do a force quit, but it comes back two seconds later. Killing it also doesn't seem to work.
Not in my startup processes either, but once I do a restart, it on cue starts running again. I have done some searching, but nothing has worked. Would anyone know how to kill this?
Recently my wife & I have been experiencing a lot of software lock-ups on our Mac. When we try and Force Quit the program(s) that have stopped running, it doesn't do anything. The program still has the 'blue oval' beneath like it is an active program. It mainly happens with iTunes or iPhoto. Sometimes with Mail & Safari. All Mac programs. Is there any way to quit the program if Force Quit doesn't work? Sometimes it gives us the error saying that the program unexpectedly closed do you want to send the report to Apple. We click Yes and then it just sits there. The program never closed though.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I was on stick am yesterday and safari started to bog down, then I couldn't scroll or click on anything at all. So I proceeded to go to force quit menu and the cursor froze. I'm new to mac so i'm upset. Do macs freeze often? If its safaris fault doesn't that mean that the OS shouldn't crash anyway
View 1 Replies View RelatedI did a software update a few days ago - it required me to do a Safari update. Since then I am unable to use safari. When I open Safari, it gives me a msg saying that Safari quit unexpectedly and will send report automatically to Apple. I have tried many things on the web. Deleted the application, and reinstalled. I tried from the original app installation DVD. I have also cleared the cache folder under library.

I just bought a Macbook Pro. When using safari, it freezes at least once a day to a point I can't force quit, and had to do a hard shut down. I've figured out that if I am using my computer and safari for more than a couple of hours, Safari just freezes. An apple support representative did mention that laptops were not meant to be constantly on, so I have been shutting it down when not in use. Still, I shouldn't have to shut down after an hour just to keep Safari from freezing.
Does this sound normal? Is there an easy fix? Do I need to look at getting this computer replaced? Or should I download a better web browser?
I'm also new to Mac, and thought switching from a windows would mean better reliability. So far I have been unimpressed with my computer. I just want it to work without worrying about having to force it to shut down once a day.

I am using a MacBook Air. When I attempt to select a file for uploading, Safari freezes and the spinning ball goes on and on. Example: When attempting to select and upload a document from my computer to the google drive, the wheel starts to spin when attempting to choose a file. I am unable to upload anything due to this issue.

I was deleting items of my external drive through MacBook keeper and when I went to shut down Safari (which was open) stopped the shutdown process. So in the end I force quit the computer. When it came to restarting I get the usula apple symbol and sound when start up begins but there it stops. The spoked wheel just keeps spinning below the Apple Symbol.

My Macbook is not even a month old yet and already I'm encountering problems.
1) Safari (7.0.4) won't quit several times and I have to force shut down by pressing the power button for a few seconds.
2) I keep having problems where pictures won't load and instead a blue box with a question mark is there. (on sites like Tumblr and Facebook and others as well) (at first I thought it was the site but the sites open perfectly on other computers).
My MacBook Pro would not boot this morning. Did a safe start and then everything worked except Safari. It quits immediately with a screen filled with letters and numbers. If you click on the Reopen it does the same thing. Tried the utilities / Disk Utility / Repair Disk permissions ... still doesn't work.

Anytime I quit Safari, it starts up again. If I quit it a second time, it will stay dead and won't restart itself. This includes when I am trying to restart my Mac; Safari and everything else quits, but then Safari immediately re-opens and cancels the restart (or shut down). I have to quit Safari a second time and then initiate the restart again. Why is this happening? Why might it happen with ANY app? I'm afraid it's due to something I did/installed to keep Safari alive, but I can't figure out what that might be or how to make this stop. I'm currently using Safari 5.1.4?

Safari doesn't ask "are you sure you want to quit 2 pages?" How do you get that back? Because when im working on an application for instance and I accidentally command+Q another safari page instead of command+W, it all quits and when I relaunch all my information is gone.

My Safari always quit unexpectedly. At least once a day. Do you have similar problem?
